Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP

I hope it is ok to post this here. I tried looking into the regional communities, but didn't see anything applicable in the first 4 pages.

My family is considering a move to the Wilmington, DE area and I was curious how the commute to Parx is and how long it actually takes?

Thanks!

I don't understand your question. Where can he pick you up along the public transportation route to minimize his effort? (Trenton would be easiest for you, but you can also transfer to Septa and get picked up at a closer stop - sorry, don't have it handy.) where can he pick you up in nyc? (wherever you want.) where can he pick you up to bring you back home? (right in front of the poker room)

Sorry, don't know the answer to the 10-10 question.

About an hour, but that is just using google maps. will be longer in traffic most likely. Note that wilmington is right by Delaware Park, and along the way you'll also pass by Harrah's Philadelphia (and Sugarhouse). I personally prefer Parx to both those poker rooms, but I'm not sure how I'd feel if I had to pass by two other poker rooms to get there.

How soft is the 2/5 player pool these days? Im looking for a 1k capped game and deciding between Parx/Sands. Better question is - Are these games still mad action opposed to full of tight ass nits?? I'm asking only about Fri-Sun gentlemen.

But it does. Put in your route at the same time/day you want to know about and look at the left column. Tells you travel time and "in current traffic" time.

Lots of regs who play together a lot. Weekends u may have a few more fish but overall there are so many 2/5 regs here it feels like a home game. Not all are nits tho, money does tend to fly around

Now heres another question - Are these regs playing ABC poker or are playing as if they are in a 5/10(200bb) game with lots of 3/4betting? I'm sure I will find out when i visit this weekend but just want a better feel before I go.

Ive actually played at both kinds of tables there, but more often than not they do play like a 5/10 game. Put it this way...2/5 at borgata i buy in for 500...2/5 here its 800+

Weekends are always good. There are a lot of tables going so the chances of sitting at a table full of rec players is not out of the question.

Answered this question in Sands thread too but in general the Parx game is more aggressive and more action than Sands. Sands has some decent players and some horrible, even in the 5/5. I regularly play both just have to adjust accordingly.

I can get from Wilmington to Parx in under an hour if traffic is light. Then again, I do have a lead foot.

Somebody earlier in this thread mentioned that Delaware Park is closer to Wilmington, which is certainly true but that room is just really small.

To echo some of the other posts. It's really a google maps question depending on exactly where around Wilmington you land. You can use the traffic app to help figure out what traffic is like during times you'd want to go. but generally speaking I95 can be congested at any time going to philly or going to Balitmore(MD live)

Del park: has good dealers/staff, but is smaller NL only up to maybe 5/5(have to check their threaD)

Dover downs: has one or two games...might be slightly easier to get to if you're looking to mess around.

Harrah's chester: about 25 minutes, bigger than delpark, mostly NL. IMO, a dump.

Parx: about an hour off traffic. Much wider variety of games. Good staff average rake/comps.

AC and MD live: are equidistant 90 minutes. AC will always be an easier drive imo, the expressway is never jammed up after the immediate philly burbs, where there seems to always be some nonsense going to Baltimore. Borgata will have best action on weekends but MD will during week.

Lots of options non outside Del park and maybe chester will be a quick jump in the car during the day.

Does Parx still run the daily tourneys while Big Stax is on? Originating in the overflow areas maybe?

I'm looking forward to NOT playing in any of the upcoming parx tournaments. Nice structure, sure...but I CAN'T STAND the fact that players can smoke freely in the poker room during tournaments, and i will no longer play during any of their series because of this. It's the 21st century, ffs. We KNOW smoking and secondhand smoking KILLS people, so go THE **** outside if you want to smoke. Why parx caters to the lowest common denominator is beyond me, but i won't support it any longer. And I'm not gonna lie, I secretly hope everyone involved in allowing indoor smoking dies a horrible and painful lung cancer death.

Just to clarify, players cannot "smoke freely in the poker room during tournaments" any more than they can smoke freely in the poker room at any other time, which is to say they can only smoke in the same designated smoking area behind the bar that has always been there.
