Sign says hi or hi lo starting at $1/2 pot limit. Talked to floor they said they will also do the $5 single blind that they offer for regular plo or higher.

That's awesome, I hope it makes it. That would be a fun game.

Just looked at the new structure for the Parx tourney on Saturdays. Really sad to see they turned it into a super turbo like the other ones, but just branded it as something else. The Saturday a month or two ago I won (subtle brag) we got heads up around 8:30 with blinds at either 8K/16K or 10K/20K. That was when starting stack was 20K. Starting stack is now 25K, and blinds stay half hour each, so to the casual observer the structure is now better. Some of the blind jumps are just absurd now.

Levels 12 and on:
4K/8K
6K/12K
10K/20K
15K/30K
25K/50K
40K/80K
60K/120K
80K/160K

They've always skipped 5/10 which is annoying but whatever. But now we skip 8/16? 20/40? Gonna be 0 play at the final table and I guess for those who just want to get to the final table and chop that'll be good, but I really have fun playing those out. Was thinking about leaving now to late register this but definitely not going after seeing structure.

Also add in the fact that Parx skips many levels that Borgata chooses to keep in their daily tournaments: 75/150, 150/300, 250/500 (Borg might not have this one but idk why not), 500/1000, 2500/5000, 5000/10000, etc. I know this is just supposed to be a fun whatever tournament but I really liked the structure and thought I got a lot of play for a little daily tournament when I went 3rd and 1st back to back weeks in April (still bragging). Bummer to see how much it's changed.

I don't know about today's, but last week got 163 if I remember correctly, but if not it was very close to that (160-165 range.)

I haven't seen big O on the bravo, has it been running at all ? What times / days has it run ? I really want to play this.

Ran last night, not sure as to the specifics but saw it on there.

maybe run it one day a week, not to interfere with the bigger plo game. Thursday? Sunday perhaps?

Perhaps someone from Parx reads this and explains or at least implements proper change.

Played the $120 7pm bounty tournament night. Registered late and seated around 7:40. My chip stack was already on the felt and had been blinded down for the 40 minutes until I arrived. No biggie.

Around 10-15 min later, a newly registered player comes, sits down and is handed a brand new full stack from the dealers rack. I complained to the dealer and floor but was mostly just given shoulder shrugs and told that its been brought up before and will again at the next meeting.

I hope this is properly corrected. Completely unfair practice.

^^^ ABOVE ^^^

that is pure incompetence, anyone with a clue would pull chips out of the new player's stack and put them all into the pot at once, i.e., super ante

I have also seen the new player's chips divided up and slowly added to a few pots until they are all gone

anyway, just shows you not to play small buy-in tourneys at this room, i.e., only play cash

Starting July 1st, Parx is changing the lowest-limit game from 4-8 to 3-6, and will also be offering 6-12.

What else? The 4-8 should have been played with whites to begin with.

And 6-12 will have a $4 time charge! This is great news for LHE players like myself who want to play lower than 15-30 but higher than the rake traps at 4-8 and below. I hope this game does well.

I hope it gets going, not super optimistic. Sadly I can only be an occasional player and can't help get it going and keep it going.

Wouldn't 4-8 be better with blue chips than white chips?

Just wondering about this to Limit players. I was considering trying out Limit O8 if they do it at 4-8 while I'm there, but I'm not sure if I could overcome the rake - but I know I won't do 3-6. Is that a good assessment? I mean I have no idea how soft LHE is, but I'd imagine the rake makes the lower fixed limit games unbeatable. Does it?

a 4-8 split pot game would be unbeatable (re: The rake). That's long term though. If you are in the room for a random fun session or two, play what you want. Play well and run well and walk out with a rack or more profit.

Same goes for LHE. It's a full pot game so the rake would have less effect but still tough to beat. Again, don't stay away from it though. If you are in the area for a few days and plan on playing a cpl nights, play what you want and are comfortable with.

If you're a 40 hour a week grinder, the rake becomes much more problematic.

It is completely and utterly pointless to worry about the rake making the game unbeatable unless you are playing thousands of hours. At casual play you can't even scratch which side of variance you are on let alone the effect rake has on your game. Feel free to enjoy any game you have fun playing

People love big pots. It can get silly, I once played 8-16 with a kill with whites. It was super raisey and crazy multiway. You needed a bulldozer to move the pot.

I'm in the more chips=more chasers camp. $1 chips for 4/8 or $2 for 8/16 for a 4 chip and 8 chip setup has always been a juicier setup than 2 chip 4 chip.

It creates more action at the table and more importantly attracts players that give action which is what makes limit games worthwhile.

I'm in that camp too but sadly a lot of the demo for those games are not. Old people just don't like having to handle that many chips.

Sadly that's not the player profile we want anyhow. Lots of retired folks w money playing 8/16 and 20/40 out in California. They 3/6 and 4/8 games I've tried in this area are old man coffee and his jackpot hunting wife. Don't even have Jp chasers at Parx.
