Hi Everyone,

I've been to Parx twice before to play 2/5 NLHE and really enjoyed the room. I'm hoping to make it there next week on Friday and/or Saturday night to play 10/10 NLHE and would like some basic information on the game:

Is there usually a wait to get in a 10/10 game on Friday/Saturday night? Is so, roughly how long? I imagine I'd get there around 7:00 pm or 8:00 pm.

Does Parx allow running it twice (or more) in the 10/10 game? If so, is it usually done?

Can anyone compare the 10/10 game at Parx to the 5/10 games at the Borgata with respect to level of play?

Thanks in advance.

Any sense of how long of a wait? How many tables are usually running? I do have the Bravo app, so I can keep an eye on that as well.

Thanks.

I usually see a couple running on weekends. The wait time is obviously gonna vary a lot. The better the game is the longer you'll probably have to wait since people aren't going to get up and leave as often when it is a good game.

friday wont be too bad, there might be a second game by then or about to start. saturday might be more difficult.

and for some reason $10-peach chips are used for 10-10 so its a pain to switch from 2/5 or 15/30. also green chips dont play, so coming from 50 or 75 is also annoying. this would be easy to handle if there was a FULL chip cart and other more serious issues alluded to above can be avoided.

i assume casinos were started in PA for job creation as one of the selling points, so please hire chip runners for peak days. and maybe more dealers before 8 on tuesday.

also, thank you Parx for extending comps to 90 days and not having to "load" you card.

I'm not sure I understand. The game only uses peach and black (100s, I assume) chips? I can't bring $5 chips or $25 chips over from a 2/5 game, if that's where I sat while waiting for a 10/10 seat?

Also, how long can I stay on a list, if I call in before showing up?

Thanks.

You can bring them over and they will technically be in play in increments of $10 but you will be asked to change them promptly. Better to change them before you sit.

If you call in your name will be on the list for 1 hour if there is a game. If there is no game your name can stay on the list longer.

Anyone up for a 15/30 no kill HOE game next Tuesday, 2/26? If yes, post so we can get an approximate head count. Will floor allow this game, or will they say it will interfere with the 6/12 OE? I know in past they would not allow me to spread the 8/16 O8 game for this reason. Hopefully the higher stakes will be allowable.

I would be in for sure although not positive if I can do it that specific day as it is my fathers birthday.

They will usually allow a similar game at the 10-20 level and higher.

Yeah if not 15/30, you might have to play 10/20 or 10/20/30...regardless the game is okay. Whether or not it starts is another story.

I'm thinking of making a move near Parx for a couple weeks. Is the list of running tables on their site accurate? Currently 14 1-2s and 6 2-5s...

How's the 2-5 game weekdays and in general? Better or worse than Borgata?

Thanks

I'm willing to play hu/shorthanded with anyone to get it started if necessary.

Can't really tell you weekday wise but in general the 2/5 games are pretty good. Probably a bit softer games at borgata but the 1k max buyin and the fac that a lot of people sit deep I think helps make up for that.

the list of running games on their site and on bravo app are pretty much spot on.

Confirmed.

There is the occasional rare anomaly, but the beauty is that it's running off the same computer system (Bravo) that drives the in-casino screens.

So you are seeing what the players in the casino see (99% of the time.)

Playing 1/2 at table 2. Was at the must move 6/12 O.E. game but it broke. May head back to the main game when I get called. Say hi! I look like my avatar.

Yes. I was at the table when this incident happened. Basically a player doubled up another player and was left with $800 in chips and had "$2k behind" which dealer announced.

He got his chips all in pre flop the very next hand before the $2k came and lost. The player he was all in against as well as the rest of the table thought he was all in for $2800. He claimed he was only all in for $800. The floor rules with him as only chips on the table are in play. When a dealer or floor says "$X in chips behind" it is only a gentleman's agreement.

Wow that's horrible. That being said, Parx has always been in favor of the "chips must be on the table before the hand starts or they are not in playing" ruling. If I were at that table I would have really tried to specify what he was playing but I guess that can be tough. Damn that sucks if he was angling I hope he gets what's coming to him.

Is it safe to assume that the person who claimed he was only 800 behind is not a reg or semi-reg?
