It is Omaha 8 / (7 card) Stud 8, both games are hi-low split 8 qualifier. The game changes every dealer change, not every orbit.

That games sounds like fun... Does it run often and on non-weekends? Sounds like I can get away with a 1/2 buy-in and play it, which is in my comfort zone (I usually play $5/10 Stud when I wanna get my Stud on at the Taj) - does it play with a Kill?

The 6-12 OE game at parx is the strongest game offered at Parx. (Game will start early, and run the longest) Game starts around 9AM and will last until 2-3AM or go around the clock. There are consistently 2-3 games going everyday, with the exception of sunday. Sunday, there are 1 or 2 games.

Both games are played with a 1/2 kill when one person scoops a pot of $90 or more. In o8, winner posts $10. In stud8, winner posts $3 bring in, ante stays the same at $1. In the kill pots, the limits change to $10-$20, 5 chips-10chips.

It's fun and most players are quite friendly about helping out.
The game does run Slow. Always seems to be one dude squeezing PF slowly.
Some folks get annoyed with all the regs slow playing each other too, but it doesn't bother me as much.
I dot get down much, but it's a solid game to learn especially since the LhE options are more and more limited these days.
You won't get rich, but Time makes it beatable IMO and regardless you won't go broke before you get the hang of it.

Here's a fun game.

Next time you order food from the waitresses, note the time.

Then, come back here and post the time it took before you get your food.

I just wanted to say I had played in this tournament and was pretty good time.First ever Deep Stack 20 K starting, 15/20 min levels, was pretty fun. They indeed had 88 players, paid nine players. First was like $1480, and ninth paid like $190 for the min cash. It went fast, get to see lot of run outs, would love to see this with bigger pool, maybe after football.
There was many things I liked about the format, but by far it was played fast, everybody knew tanking would not be allowed, all agreed to play fast, call clock if needed, nothing personal, but anybody that semi tanked said they were sorry. I like fast play in poker, like golf. I would say try this, in the Parx scheme of things pretty good....good luck, here comes Big Stax

The waitress issue needs to be addressed. I believe most of the waitresses are trying hard, but there is not enough to cover the room effectively. Combine that with the couple that just don't hustle, and it becomes VERY annoying. I play 3-4 times a week, and if I order food it routinely takes an hour (I always order the fruit or a salad, neither of which needs to be cooked). My orders for tea are averaging a half hour. When I play during the day, you can almost forget about ordering or recieving anything from 11:15 to 12:00.

As a reg I am annoyed, but if I am a recreational player looking to play some poker and have some drinks, it is a deterrent from coming back to Parx.

hey guys
is it still not allowed to bring in a backpack with you @ Parx?
Last time I tried to bring in mine then was rejected for whatever reason and was a bit annoyed by that.

Also is the Borgata Poker Open killing the action @ Parx?
thanks in advance

They just started sending around a different waitress to just serve food while the others just serve drinks. It has greatly increased the speed of getting both out. Much better imo.
