No free booze -- Drinking is really important to have in a poker room. Attracts recreational players and gets games loose. Whats a wild sat night room without booze?
Waitresses rarely come around
Comps are nonexistent -- Is it really only 1/hr for 2-5?
The player base -- Lots of surly grinder types. Very little lighthearted conversation at the table. Bad environment for pros and rec players alike
Game selection -- 85% 1-2 tables and not much else. Perhaps the 1k buyin structure of 2-5 is hurting the number of tables
There are two things I did like though-- the TVs and 9 handed tables. Oh god do i like 9 handed
What does "top tier" mean?
For me:
The top tier consists of one room and one room only - Borgata obv.
The 2nd tier consists of one room and one room only - PARX.
If the only comparison is Borg, any room will lose. Other than that, PARX is far and away the best in the PA/Del/NJ area.
On a Fri/Sat they will have 6-8 2/5 games (more than anywhere else) as well as non NL options.
Can't argue with the $$$ for drinks of course.
