And yeah you're right, the three-betting at that table was non-existant or way too low... I don't blame you for mixing it up like you did. I just wish I was able to do so more but I can't complain about the results.

In my experience, parx is far nittier than AC. 3 bet almost always means AA or KK. I rarely get 3 bet

I'm walking away from my first trip to Parx now. Played 1-2 nlhe, was at table 44 from 715 til midnight, in seat 7 wearing a black hoodie in case you were there. Overall really enjoyable, probably because I won $300, mainly by hitting a full house early on and then several flushes.

There was one weird hand where the river brought broadway on the board with no flush possibilities. First player checked, next bet $10, then the third guy went all-in for $65. First guy called. Second guy, who bet $10, hesitates for at least 2 minutes before folding. Those were the most aggravating 2 minutes.

My only complaint is that the chips were sticky and dirty. Made it hard to shuffle them at first, and sometimes they stuck when I was betting and I almost put out the wrong amounts.

And a final odd note was that I wasn't carded at any point. I'm 27 but definitely look like I'm 18-20 or so. That wouldn't have been too weird if it weren't that I saw them card several people that walked in after me.

I'll be back eventually. It's an your drive for me, but closer than any other casino.

Where can I get chip counts for today's Day 2 of the $300+$40 deep stack (Event 4)? Parx Poker Blog hasn't posted them yet.

I never understood this type of "tanking." It's like, why would the second guy not call off another $55 dollars when he could play the board. That seems like easy money for people who don't pay attention to the board, don't know what hands beat what, and have a tendency to slow down the play. I agree, I would be aggravated.

On a side note, my aggravation is when people tank over a small amount of money...in this case 50 bucks. It shouldn't take 2 minutes of tanking and wasting other people's time when the amount on the line is not substantial.

What is small to you may be substantial to someone else, and the idea of the game is not to think of it in terms of money, but in terms of making the right decisions. A $50 river tanker in 1/2 may feel he has a difficult decision to make and have to think about it for a bit. Also, other people do not "own" the time they are using at the table, they are aware that the experience may include annoying aspects such as the occasional delay when they elect to take a seat.

I'm well aware of that. If you re-read my response, it addresses the general concept of people tanking for what OP considers "non-substantial money", not this particular hand.

Also, the nuts being on the board in the specific hand you referenced is irrelevant. If the person is a poor player or unaware of the rules and cannot figure out that the nuts is on the board, then their tanking is the same as anyone tanking in any other situation.

Ideally, you should be thrilled to have someone at the table who cannot board-read and is apt to fold in such a situation. It'd be worth the minor delay.

Because he's a poor player unfamiliar with the concept of the board playing. What isn't understandable is why this would seem foreign to you, it's not a totally uncommon occurence, and as stated, this is what you want at the table.

I will say that it didn't seem to me that $50 was a lot to this guy. I agree with 2outs that he was just trying to make the right decision and obviously had a blind spot on the board. Also, $50 is significant to me. It's obviously money I can afford to lose, but it still feels like a lot to me and I don't just throw away $50 without really thinking about it.

At first, I thought the guy in question was Kylephilly because he started off raising every hand to $7 preflop, but he stopped quickly so I'm not so sure. And I don't know anything about kylephilly, but I would think that >8000 posts would preclude him from misreading the straight on the board.

Last think I wanted to add was that I was very impressed with the dealers at Parx. All were quick and competent, friendly without being intrusive. Even the one I thought was the worst of those I had was very good, especially when compared to some other places I've been.

Yeah sorry I didn't read. I thought it was a situation where the guy was being a comedian and fake tanking or something. Obviously a player that poor is good to have at the table.

I played the 6/12 OE game with a kill to 10/20 saturday afternoon. I was in the must-move game but unfortunately was not moved to the main game (which apparently was running from 9pm the night before). It was a pretty decent game and surprisingly did not include the usual gang of OE angry old dudes. Obviously, this doesn't reflect on the room, but the game was decent and so were the people. Several years ago I used to play in the 10/20 OE game at the Borg that would kill to 15/30 and those guys were absolutely miserable.

It was my first time in the room and I was impressed with how clean it was and the atmosphere. The casino is massive but it was easy to find the poker room my first time there. My only complaints are that it took forever for the waitresses to bring drinks (and I think you have to pay for alcohol?). Additionally there was like a 30 or 40 person 1/2 list, which I assume was because of the tournament. Overall though, it was a great first impression.

I was there today for the 2nd time. Room itself is very nice, place is easy to get to from where I am, getting seated is quick and simple, and the action today was decent (as opposed to my first trip which featured a nit filled table). I also feel the dealers are excellent and add a lot to the game,

The glaring negatives are how long it takes waitresses and chip runners to do anything, the lack of complimentary alcohol, and extremely slow pace of play. I clocked one hand in 1/2 NL at 8 full minutes, several others, 5 or 6 minutes. People Hollywood like I've never seen anywhere before.

I got there at 6:45pm on Saturday and I couldn't find my name on list because the screen only showed so many names. I was playing in half an hour.

While it was easy to get to the poker, I had a real hard time finding my way out of the parking lot in the dark. Some of it's my fault as I get lost very easily, but I think some of the blame should be on Parx too (mainly for being so big).

I'm coming down for the first time tomorrow morning to play in the O8/b. Driving from Harrisburg, so I hope traffic isn't bad, we're going to try and leave by 8am. Any tips on where to park to be closest to the Poker Room. Also, should I get a card made in the room or at player services?

I'd like to start coming down every other Mon for 6/12 O.E. I didn't know that game ran around here, used to play 10-20 w/kill HORSE back home in OK. Giddy up!

Park close to parx east, enter and go up escalator and turn left. At front desk they have a line simply for card making due to tournament. They make it so easy. I want to play he o8 tourney but I'm afraid of small turnout
