Cool, yeah, plays about as deep as a $1-2 but the math is a lot simpler. Works out perfectly. Good to know, hoping to make it up there next month. What's the buy-in range?

I am definitely rooting for a bbj. And I'm here almost daily.

The FAQ in the first post of this thread says 200-500 but I'm almost positive the max is now 1K

I wonder if the ol' timers/BBJ chasers will be willing to play 4/8 ? Most of those characters play 2/4 in AC.

No there aren't currently buses, they were shut down for safety reasons. There are a couple links a few pages back discussing the situation further.

To satisfy both parties in the matter, I think there should be an option to sit in a bbj table or not. I remember at the taj mahal the 20/40 LHE game was able to vote w majority ruling if they want the table to be bad beat eligible or not. What about having some table bad beat eligible and some not like what they did online on the cereus network.. Ahem...

I thought they stopped that once they realized people would opt in when the jackpot is high and not when it is low.

They usually stop it because most ppl don't give a **** and the default (to participate in BBJP) holds 99% of the time.

A table that votes out is usually full of regs and not a good table anyhow, so the smart regs (ironically) tend to transfer to the juicier BBJP tables.

Plus, there's nothing good about the conversation that leads up to that table vote.

When I used to play at the Taj a few years ago any hold'em table was able to vote on BBJ eligability. Most players were not aware of this. Only the 20/40 and up opted out regularly, sometimes 10/20 also. It never ceases to amaze me how many players want to pay an extra $2 or $3 an hour rake, times however many hours played, so they can dream about hitting the jackpot.

Guess you've never heard of someone buying $20 in Powerball or any other state lotteries tickets. Its really not that amazing of a concept to grasp. Good and bad players are drawn to large paydays, no matter the odds. Case in point, the main event just drew ~6600 players at 10k each and all anyone could talk about is how soft the field was or how much dead money was playing.

The main event is way +EV. The BBJ is -EV. It's really not that amazing of a concept to grasp.

1/3rd of that field have no idea what +EV or -EV is.

The Lottery/slot machines/pit games/betting a parlay are also -EV but its prolly never stopped you from buying a ticket, placing a bet, pulling a lever, right?

I doubt Nick has done any of these things.

Are you able to take chips off your stack when switching tables at this casino? I've only been playing here a few weeks and I've noticed it a few times now. Last night was the most egregious I've seen - a guy I've seen there a few times so is likely a reg left a 2/5 table with ~1600 in green and a rack of red, dropped off his green at the cage on the way to his next table and just sat with his rack of red and pocketed the rest.

I presume this is not OK and it's kinda disturbing how often I have seen it. I have never noticed it at a poker room before as much as at Parx. I know this can be super hard to police, but when floors let people move to other tables they really need to watch that they bring their whole stack over.

You can not bring more than the table max to any table if you switch tables, unless the table breaks so that was technically ok.

You should not be able to just move tables within the same levels without notifying the floor. The floor definitely needs to be more aware of this and players should really speak up more about others tabling hopping.

I don't really know Parx's exact policy on this(ie how much time you are supposed to sit out before you can play at another table after hit and running on first table), but they really should make you sit out at least 30-60mins if you wanna do this.

In most rooms, tables of the same limit are considered all the same game so that you MUST put your whole stack on the table. Otherwise it's just a super easy way to rathole, ie take some of your winnings out of risk without having to leave.

If you can't do it at the table you are at, then you shouldn't be able to accomplish the same thing by table hopping.

You can only come in with the table max when table changing.

Yeah, this was my experience as well. But if Parx only lets you have table max even when you switch tables of the same game, thems the rules I guess. Seems kinda bad though... there's already so much table hopping at Parx that having this rule just encourages more table hopping/ratholing.

But if you leave one 2/5 table w/ >1k do you *have* to sit with 1k at the new table? Or is 1k just the max that you can sit with? Because I am pretty sure I have noticed people leaving one 2/5 table w/ >1k and sitting with 500 at the new table.

Does anyplace else have this rule?

Yes, many other rooms use this rule. Just as many (maybe more) have the opposite rule, that you must bring it all with you when you table change.

The player had no choice but to cashout and rebuy at $1000. Some players definitely use the rule to get some cash off the table. I play there all the time and it doesn't seem like to big of a problem. Except for some shortstacking asians who can be annoying. You should see how fast they get up after winning a big pot. Even that doesn't seem to be as much of a problem since the buses aren't running, they don't seem to be there as often. The other day I was doing great and playing great, had a big stack but my table had gotten crappy, I would love to have taken my big stack on moved to a better table, but it's just not allowed.

Now a personal question... why do you even care? You described the guy as a regular, which probably means he is decent or at the very least not the guy you came to target. If a huge fish wins a few pots then takes money off that would be frustrating, but I could care less if it were a good player, probably even vote to allow him to take money off the table without switching tables, maybe it's just me and I'm not as good as everyone else.

Reminds me of earlier this week, there were two really good aggressive regulars at the table, myself and like four loose passive calling station types. Then one of the really good regs got up and left, I was ecstatic, then one of the not very good players starting complaining about how the table sucked now because the action guy left, despite the fact the guy complaining admitted the reg was really good. The complainer plays all the time too, it's amazing to me that people who play that much just don't get who they should be playing against.

Would you want to sit at a table and watch players take off money every time they won a pot or at least accumulated over the maximum? The players with edge likely aren't the ratholers.

And actually I don't really care just playing devils advocate. I'm one of those low life limit types who happens to be moving to the area soon.
