A bus leaves from Chinatown to Parx like 4 times a day but not sure when. Info should be on Parx website.

Interested too, although are you allowed to use an iPad or something of that sort at the table with the new rules?

Well in all fairness to him and his unethical antics that happen over and over I feel bad for him... While he is competent he plays for real as in he tries to win to make money and he is a big spot in the game IMO tho not all may agree... that was a terrible game all decent regulars and I moved to his left bc he was the best spot so I never am anything but cheerful and friendly to him at the table...

Given the way the hand went down it didn't bother me much... he ended up giving me back 220 (after everyone but me yelled at him) out of an 1100 or so pot we agreed to chop prior to the river... it was dishonest, yes, but i got it in bad; he had the one hand that had me crushed after i isolated his 300 shove into a 500 multiway pot w a "15 out draw" so it was 300 to win 800+ for me and I was very confident everyone else would fold... yet he still showed me his hand for top pair and the same backdoor flush draw and offered a chop... I had like <15% equity w only 6 outs robin did not wait to deal the river but it took me less time to agree to the chop... so I actually got more than my equity share back from him. He never saw my hand or knew what I had he made a terrrrrrrrible deal and obviously I would have never agreed if he showed me a naked made hand or anything but a hand that had my draw dominated.

That being said... He should have said "you wanna chop if you win" but I know what is involved w playing in a game w him. one guy actually got up and left so I understand if you wouldn't want to sit with him but as I said I do this for a living and IMO he's good for the game... be nice to him there's more than one reason to take the high road

What's Parx' policy towards deals at the table (i.e. chopping pots?)

Thought it wasn't allowed anywhere on the East Coast.

yea they don't do it it's up to the player with the winning hand who gets pushed the pot to chop it and give the other player half... it really doesn't come up very much at all

Having stuff go on that's not officially condoned by the casino can lead to all manner of bad things.

Seriously, who has a tourney series and throw 20 min levels on everything? WTF? The more I think about it, the more pathetic it is.

We're not asking for 50K chips and to start at 5/10 blinds.

Just make it 30 mins and add something like 250-500 & DEFINITELY 2,500-5,000. Neither of those are a chip issue. The green $25 chips stay in play til 400-800 (75a) and the $500 chips are in play well after a potential 2,500-5,000 level.
I'm not too shocked at the Omaha 8/b (http://www.parxcasino.com/pdf/wpt/info_022912_01.pdf) being 15k and 20 min levels- but level 1 is 100/200 bets?! Even with 15k that's a bit nuts. I know they are trying to keep these @ 1 day events but man!

Also no green chips either, maybe that's part of it.

Borgata does 12k/40min levels and 100/200 bets is level 4.

I've always played my sessions in the wee hours, but I may have to start playing during the daytime. Are there any daytime regulars who can comment on the action at 2/5 between the hrs of 11am and 6pm?

generally true but more to the point it's not ok in a NL game
w clear rules about table stakes to win a pot and hand the
other player chips out of your stack so it's also really not even allowed and basically shouldnt be even though the floor and dealers basically look the other way in the rare even it happens... it's fine to make the deal say to chop a 400 pot and the winner hands the other 200 cash out of their wallet but the chips should stay as won on the table until the player picks up

As a warning to everyone who goes to Parx : be EXTREMELY careful driving to and from the casino. The police in that area are downright hawkish. When driving down Street Road, especially at night, you will almost always see Bensalem police have multiple people pulled over.

Just be careful how you drive in that area.

Also, it looks like they are giving $25 tickets for all those people (I used to be one of them) who were parking creatively in the handicap/front parking area.

Bensalem is terrible. I drive through there a lot and constantly see cops. When I drive my truck for work I usually just avoid street rd altogether because they are commercial vehicle nazis.

Just a heads up for anyone who needs to use comps before they lose them... The steakhouse in the main builiding, Parx Grill, gives 2 for 1 comps every Tuesday. Just found out about this and thought I would share it. Not sure about any other details/restrictions.

I might skip Parx now on because of the police. It's almost like they are actively seeking out to try to stop people. Now, I somewhat understand what they are doing, as that's what they are "supposed" to do, but when you are driving along Street Road and see 5 cars pulled over between the 95 onramp and the casino, it kind of makes you wonder what the hell is going on up there.

I'll take Harrah's and the risk of getting mugged than the cops harassing me. F that.

They are also giving tickets if you miss any of the stop signs coming in or going out of Parx.

Must be at night 'cause there's too much f'ing traffic to speed if you wanted to during the day...
I did get pulled over once for making a "late lane change" into the left turning lane before the wawa lot when there was nobody around me (when you're leaving Parx towards 95 it's kinda confusing to see where the entrance is imo). Didn't get a ticket but still, wtf man.

They're just like any other small police force. Bored and generating tickets / revenue. They probably get creative in reasons to pull you over coming out of establishments where alcohol is served, especially late at night.

This forum tends to exaggerate things a bit (see the overblown response to the apparently nightmarish beds in the Borgata thread.)

Yes, I agree we may be sounding a bit overzealous. I'm simply giving a warning to people. Whatever you do, don't drink while at Parx. There's simply a higher-than-normal probability you'll get pulled over in that area.
