Guarenteeing less than 100 runners for your main event and only being a 500? Hope this is reconsidered you guys draw in similar cash game action as the Borgata, why not shoot for anywhere near as similar tournament action?

The money's there to make the main tournament a 1k-1600, i'd expect about 10-20% of the million 1-2nl reg players will take a shot in a tournament of that entry and a bunch of the 2-5ers like 30%-40%. All these players are itching to play in a WPT.

In a tournament like this where the buyin is SO SMALL (500$) the 2-5 players hourly's would be higher playing the 2-5 CASH game so you're only gonna get the 1-2 players, whereas a higher buyin tournament lower stakes would take shots and you will get all the higher stakes regs.

Really hope it's reconsidered.
-Mike.

Edit: Also a consideration, if you put higher stakes tournaments you will have people travel to come to these tournaments, you will have bigger fields and greater cash game revenues from the higher stakes running during the series.

What does WPT Regional Mean? Are there points leading to entry into WPT tournaments? What are the benefits? Do you have a complete schedule for 2012? Is there going to be a Major at Parx or will it be a feeder site for th established Borgata stop?

Thanks for the info.
We will have at atleast two more events, another regional ( 4/23-5/2) and a TV event sometime in August.

I agree, the main event should be larger than $500. And if parx runs a bunch of satellites to the main, they'll get plenty of entrants.

How the hell are there over 100 names on the 1/2 waiting list today, the day after Christmas? They have the dealers and tables available!

So a Re-Entry is the same as a Re-Buy with the vig added in ?
The Re-Entry's are unlimited till a certain Blind level ?
Is this a B&M thing to extract every possible dollar ?
Never cared for the Re-Buy where one can buy a gambling stack then tilt the game in his favor once the Re-Buy frenzy ends.
In the PLO structure you will need a few bullets maybe a full clip to build.
Would suck to get stuck at a table full of nut-peddlers. lol

YES but you leave the table, re-enter and get a different seat/table (most likely)

YES usually a good barometer would be ~ Level 6

Is this a B&M thing to extract every possible dollar ?

Absolutely. But don't fault PARX (it's not their scheme), they are just piggybacking on what a bunch of others are doing. Borgata, Bellagio....Full Tilt back in the day....etc

Never cared for the Re-Buy where one can buy a gambling stack then tilt the game in his favor once the Re-Buy frenzy ends.

PLO is EASILY the most fun rebuy/re-entry style though. But as stated before, it's not rebuy so it's not like you can get a bunch of chips on your table then get them back. With a re-entry you'd be switching tables

Would suck to get stuck at a table full of nut-peddlers. lol
Can't wait for the series. Lots of affordable buy-ins and some non-NLHE options.

The big difference is you can't re enter until you go broke. You must bust to re enter

They should have "Chaos Mondays". PLO tourney where you can buy-in for as many starting stacks as you want at any time in the first two levels. Invest $10k in a $100-20 weekly and start with 1M in chips.

Its one 5 dollar bind instead of a 1-2 structure, runs much better as a red chip game.

We play every Wednesday and Friday and we usually start it around 630. This week a lot of people are off from work so its running every night. See you at the table.

Weds/Thurs are both bad days for me. Can we get this game rolling on a Fri/Sat... of even a Sunday once football season ends... 5/10 good, 10/20 even better.

I'm good on Sat./Sun. starting next weekend.

Why not split the difference and play 8/16 ($1 ante, $2 BI) ? I think it would be a great game with the $2 chips.
Isn't that one of the limits listed on the self-service sign in kiosk ?

I like the idea of 5/10/15 or 10/15 red chip game idea better. 5/10/15 should be about the same as 8/8/16/16/16.

But until 5 ppl or more settle on a time, the structure doesn't matter.

This Sat/Sun are probably out for people and we can talk about next Sat/Sun next week.

What about this Friday?

I'm in for any of the above tonight or tomorrow. Off all day tomorrow, so I'm good for anytime. Only comment would be not a straight 5/10 as 1 chip 2 chip structures suck. If we play that level 6/12 would be better but my first choice is 10/20.

Ari - does that old deal still stand about reduced time to get this game running the first time?

I played in one of the evening tournaments recently, and believe I witnessed collusive behavior.

We were down to less than 40 remaining when a large stack was moved to our table. One of the chip leaders was to my right. A friend of the player in the right came over (not sure if he was still in the tourney, but I had seen them talking earlier) and told him to take it easy on the new player.

I busted out soon after, and didn't see the two players in the same hand.

What would you in such a situation?

Since I busted out, I'd go play some cash games...like I did when busting yesterday's noon donkament.

Actually, before that I'd prob go get a pork and rice bowl downstairs.

Everybody is a goddamn super sleuth these days when it comes to sniffing out "collusion"

I see that was your first post and I don't want to clown on you and scare you from posting.

Just saying that what you saw was probably totally innocent. I mean, you said you busted soon after. Even if that meant a full orbit +, it's not uncommon for guys to not be in the same pot 9+ times in a row.

Poker is a smaller community than most think. There are many "regs" at each casino. It was probably just a "take it easy on him, waka waka waka" joke between friends. If ~40 runners were left, it was either 22 or 31 away from the money so it's not like it was some big min-cashing conspiracy.

Anyway, welcome to the forums and good luck at the tables.
