lol, fair enough... i spent 6 weeks this summer in kansas on buisness and played omaha every night.. built up a love for the game (its amazing how you can't find a NLHE game) but would never consider moving there.

I would never let this happen to me, I was just commenting on how scummy the players in the area can be. Never seen this anywhere else. Oh, and when the players complained to the floor, the floor said that it was "terrible etiquette" but legal.

Sigh.

@EnlightenedRaise

I had a similar experience with a floorperson who told me I could not get a table change at my 4 handed game. There were plenty of other tables that weren't full and it was late enough at night (1ish) where nobody was on the waiting list. Her response was "and leave your game with even less people? Are you crazy?"

It was the older-ish lady floorperson whom all the regs grumble about, to anyone who is familiar with the room.

Thankfully, a different floorperson intervened soon after realizing how empty the table and was and offer to re-seat everyone.

To summarize, this place is not elegant. It is not the Borgata or some nice Vegas cardroom. But there's lots of activity and many great games to be had regardless of the atmosphere which is all a player should really care about.

Every other floor person here is awesome. This lady described here always acts as if all the customers are bothering her. Very mean and unfriendly. Great job for someone who apparently hates people. I always try to avoid her or even the whole section she is in.

IT Is up to players to protect there hand and not muck till other person shows it is one of the most basic things in poker. I agree mis calling a hand intentially is a bs move but i cannot imagine a poker room in the world that will award the pot to someone who has mucked even if it is thr second time that some ahole pulled that angle. They might (should) throw the guy out and give him a weeks ban and if it continues after that a perm ban.

I can't cite specifics, but I've definitely seen instances on 2+2 where the pot has been given to the player who mucked. And if I were the floor, it's exactly what I would do the second time I saw a player shoot that angle. I might also ban the guy for 24 hrs, but I'm guessing that once I take away his motivation ($), he'd stop.

So not to poke the sleeping dog, but this is exactly the type of situation I think the current OOT action rule helps prevent:

RR makes the post most in line with my thinking. I know I'm in the minority, but figured I would be sure to get my reasoning in here. The current rule doesn't just protect new players; it protects everyone, from very common errors that are easy to make and have very our-of-proportion consequences.

Just left parx before. Played in the 1-2 wanted to play in the 6/12 OE. There were 14 people on the list and they didn't call a new table for hours. How many people does it normally take? Just didn't really like the overall atmosphere which is a shame considering its a shorter drive than ac by far. May give it another shot someday with more time.

I have to agree, she's unhelpful and miserable. I've walked into the poker room, straight to the podium where she is standing in front of the computer, and she completely ignored me, typed something quickly, then walked away. Another player approached while I was waiting, and she ignored him too. How hard would it have been to say "hi, can I help you?" and add our initials to the waiting list? At the very least, she needs a refresher course in customer relations.

If your thinking was right, why would the overwhelming majority of poker rooms force OOT action to be binding? It's simple; because protecting the integrity of the game far outweighs protecting players from their own errors.

Let's keep in mind, we are talking about real poker, for real money, not some home game with your friends and family. Anyone who sits down in a poker room is expected to know the basic rules, and acting when it's your turn is a rule that even the newest of noobs understands. Breaking this rule accidentally could possibly win you money, or it could cost you money. And if it happens to cost you money, then you've learned an important lesson. If the house doesn't make the OOT action binding, cheats and scumbags will gradually ruin the game. Personally, I'd much rather learn the lesson about acting OOT the hard way.

I'd rather just play PLO too but it's always nice to get a mix of NLHE/PLO to infuse the game with some new blood.

Thought I read earlier in this thread that a 1/2 NLH/PLO mix is $6 a hh?

Last time I played 1/3 PLO it was $5 hh. Pretty silly to make the time charge higher for a mix game that's gonna play smaller.

It's $5/hh and $3/hh if playing 6 or less.

You're wrong Jay, the one time I played it, the sign said it was 6/hh for the PLO/NL mixed, when I said that had to be wrong the floor agreed with me and went to verify it with Brandon (bnavata), who confirmed it was 6/hh. Another reason not to play the game, imo.
