111 entrants. Top 9 paid. ~$3100 up top.

I think it would be possible to see a 4/8 or 6/12 TD 2-7 or Razz game, but it would probably take alittle work to organize the first few on here or something.

Thanks! That a nice amount of people for a Thursday night that didn't get much advertizing. Maybe the weeklies will end before 3am now that there's not always 350 players and there's more options.

Hey Ari,

The players want $4 max rake. ($5 is insanely greedy.) We also want 10 handed games, free drinks, free wifi, $250 cash back for every 100 hours we play and thats it. Thank you.

What who wants 10 handed games? Very much against this. The other stuff definitely though

+1 on not wanting 10 handed, especially at Parx's small-ish tables.

ummmm the games used to be 10handed... we complained and they listened. saying we want 10 handed games now is a step backwards not forward.

its tough enough to like you with that user name (giants fan here) but i think we should start with one gripe at a time.

Borgata is a joke when it comes to starting low/mid limit non-hold 'em games.
Last month on a Saturday afternoon I started three lists for HORSE (4/8, pink, and 10/20) and the floor guy tells me, "I guess you don't wanna play today huh." Unless you actually talk to Stan in person there, it's a crapshoot at best....

Last month @ Parx I was playing the 6/12 OE game and asked some of the non-regs if they'd be interested in playing 8/16 HOSE. They all said yes, but the floor won't spread it (or 4/8) because it's too close to the 6/12 OE game.
They'll do 15/30 OE or HOSE, etc...

I'm 99% sure an 8/16 HOSE, HORSE, or any mix game would draw a different crowd than the 6/12 OE game. From what I saw, that game essentailly is the old 4/8 O8 game with a few random guys (like me) sprinkled in. It might kill off the must-move table, but so what.

Any ideas ?

Why would a winning player want to increase the table sizes?

Maybe -EV players like the idea of going broke slower, and thus getting more value?

The nosebleed guys @ Borgata would be happy to frequent Parx, but they want all these games in their mixes (oh, and they need a hotel too).

I'm not sure if we will see them spread at the low altitude level. I suppose they could add Razz to the 15-30 or 30-60 mixes, but the other ones might be a bit too exotic.

Time will tell.
Hey elf, yeah I used to go there from time to time. I'm boycotting it now until FTP pays out us US players tho

Maybe it'll get played, maybe it won't. As long as the powers that be allow it, I'll be there drumming up players tho! Maybe import one or two from Scranton...

I think an 8/16 HOSE OR HORSE game would attract a different crowd from the O.E. I would be willing to make a trip down from NYC once a week if we could pick a time and day to get the game off. Dying for a regular game like this anywhere!

I would play 8-16 HOSE, especially if we could add some draw games to the mix once they are approved.

It might work, but I could certainly understand Parx not wanting on taking chances with hurting the 6/12 game (which it will sooner or later). "Bird in hand is worth two in bush" mentality is standard in these kinds of situations. And if the 6/12 game got hurt, the tears cried by the 6/12 regulars would force the rivers to crest again.

And some questions.

In 6/12 OE, the game changes on the 1/2 hour. Is it that way in all the mixes? If so, does it have to be that way? Can the game change every 9 hands instead?

If there are more than 2 games in the mix (HOE for example) it changes every 8 hands rather than every half hour.

Saw a great hand at parx the day before the hurricane. Two guys all in on turn with board of Js 9s Jc As. Seat one shoves, snap call by seat 8 who tables Qs 9s for second nut flush. Seat one stands, thinks he's drawing dead, and mucks his hand so that it touches the burn cards.

Dealer deals the river Jd, seat one grabs and flips his cards up showing Ac Qh. When dealer correctly ruled his hand as dead, he left the room and went home. $120 lesson for that guy.

9-handed is great, wait times are ok, competition is fairly poor. In a limited sample size of 40 hours at 1/2, I'm around 33$ per hour, $20/hour should be sustainable for any decent player there. I wish beer was free though. There are usually 2-3 complete fish per table. If the tourneys started at 6, I'd play. Ending 1-2 AM is significantly better than 2-3 AM IMO.

It was alright for the 6/12 game to consume the 4/8 08 game ?
Maybe karma will strike them but I think they have enough regs to survive.
FWIW I would play a 8/16 HOSE game.

Nothing about this is right.

Why did the dealer put out a river if seat one mucked on the turn?

Parx does not have a magic muck, touching the burn cards is meaningless. If the cards are retrievable, player one could/should have called the floor, he may/would have been ruled the winner of the hand.

There are definitely enough regs to keep that 6/12 game going.

IMO, the only downside to an 8/16 mixed game is that it would probably kill off the 6/12 must move table.

Even if it were just featured 1 day/week like the tuesday night razz game at the Trop in LV?

The 6/12 regs may actually be forced to play real poker vs. one another. Uhoh, what will they do. No more squeezing out the non reg to sweat the remaining streets with one another in fun. If they lose all the outsiders in the 6/12 that game will break with only regs due to the inability to play against one another, will never be another kill pot.

I disagree. The 6/12 game is just a happy medium. Many people who play 6/12 oe would prefer to just play just omaha, and would prefer to play 4/8, but since the 6/12 game broke that, they are forced to play either 6/12 oe or 4/8 holdem. There's are another large group of 6/12 oe players who would prefer to play bigger, for example 8/16 or 15/30 mixed. Unfortunately not enough interest is generated for that. Therefore you get 2 table of 6/12 oe.

This assessment sounds spot on to me.
