it's a mad house @ Parx now. lists in triple digits, apparently a lot of dealers called out/couldn't make it in. I've seen more tables open here before, but never lists this long.

thought I'd get here before the rush but apparently not.

Please keep us updated. Which list are you on? Contemplating calling around 7:00 to put my name on the 2/5 list and get there around 10...

190 on 1-2 list, 105 on 2-5, 30 on 15-30 lhe. Even 4-8 has 28. Probably lost of people just going on every list as well.

I am 35th or so on 2/5 and have been waiting for 2 hours. Started at 55th. New shift supposedly coming.

don't know why theydont match Ids at all tables like I hear three soon at 1/2.

I'm at the bottom 10% of the 2/5 list and the bottom of the 10/10, prolly see a 2/5 seat before anything else.

hoping the new shift brings at least 2 or 3 more 2/5 tables

prolly not a bad idea to call in but you might have to try more than once. you might my need to wait til 10 to show up though.

they be getting some dealers showing up because they just opene a 10/10 must move 10 minutes ago but have yet to clear the list of names

Remember, there is still tons of flooding and it is still getting worse. Power is just starting to cut out even now in some places. It's not like Parx can teleport their employees in. Just saying, have some empathy in a difficult situation.

Wow is it really that bad? I was thinkin about taking a trip to parx, called the poker room and it rang for 2 mins before someone just hung up on me. If it is that bad might just stay home.

I'm not upset with the floor. I'm more mad at the people who line skipped than the floor for (understandably) not being able to handle hundreds of impatient people on waiting lists.

Besides, I'm at Chester now and the lines are much shorter. Room is completely full though.

If I'm staying overnight or longer at a casino, I always give $10 or $20 at check in and ask if there are any "comp" upgrades. I also do it when traveling - usually for business. You should see some of the rooms I've gotten over the years! It works slightly more then 50% of the time. Certainly worth the risk/reward in my book.

has there been a post i should read about changes to Parx? someone just mentioned a new room? i heard from someone that it's moving to the main building? details?

has building a hotel been approved/in the works?

love parx btw. went for the first time at the end of july and put in 150ish hours this month. excited to hear it could be getting better.

Last night at Parx was like being at the Borgata West. One of the Borg regs I sat next to even joked about how he can't take a weekend off that would be crazy.

I called on my way in, got a seat fairly quickly compared to everyone else, another reason to play all the games, I'll sit in anything!

What you really need is Watermelon (hi-lo 8/b texas hold'em - you get dealt four cards - pitch one before the flop and one after the flop). Then you can play:

Watermelon
Hold'em
Omaha
Razz
Eight or better stud
Stud

Sounds like watermelon is a home game. Will have to try it in our regular Thursday night game. We usually only play various types of Hi/Low games.

I read about the game being popular in Europe, but that was a long time ago (about 15 years give or take a couple).

To some it is just another name for Pineapple. Since these games are hardly ever spread anywhere on a regular basis, it's hard to refer to "standard" rules, but in my mind:

Pineapple - dealt 3, pitch 1 before the flop
Crazy Pineapple - dealt 3, pitch 1 after the flop
Watermelon - dealt 4, pitch 1 before the flop, 1 after the flop
