I can't wait for the day when people start realizing how boring and simple NLHE is when compared to any other form of poker.
Please understand that this is the 1st Major Parx is running. Better to start off small and do everything right, rather than biting off more than the staff can chew and doing it wrong. This will not be the only major event Parx is running.

I think it is written in stone with parx. It has to be either 8-16 or 15-30. Just start a list. I would play either. Also 10-20 with $10 chips is no good. 1 chip 2 chip structure is bad structure. Just look at the 5 10 games, oh wait I don't think they go off anywhere anymore.

Mon-Fri it gets started anywhere from 11am-1pm at the latest and, for the most part, fills up very quickly. I never really stay later than 7pm but it is always still running when i leave. Some nights I hear it runs until 2-3am.

I don't play weekends but i assume the game is always running on sat/sun.

Min 500, Max 2k.

I don't see why PARX and the others (Harrahs/Borg/etc) can't get with the program during their tournament series and run some smaller buy in satellites that issue "lammers" for the winners. All they need to do is a couple of days worth of 10 man satty's for 80 + 20 and issue two 400 lammers to the top two for each sattelite (and leave them as transferable). It only makes sense. Heck, they could even do some cheaper ones than that.

Last time I played the Venetian Spring Tourney a few years ago, they did that and it was awesome. Play a few 80 dollar tournies, win some lammers and bingo you've got your buy in to the top dollar events.

PARX tourney guru Brandon:

"OK everyone. Here is the latest on Satellites...

They have been submitted to the state for approval. We CANNOT guarantee that PGCB will approve them in time for August 10. If/when we get approval from PGCB, here is the tentative schedule for Super Sats for the Mega.
Thurs 8/18 and Fri 8/19 5pm (space permitting) Blind structure will be the same as our Tuesday 7pm tournament.

The buy in will be $230+$30. For every $2080 in the prize pool, we will pay an additional spot with the remaining cash going to the bubble.

Single Tables are in the same situation in regards to approval.
Buy-ins
$65 - 2 winners $250 each
$85 - 2 winners $350 each
$135 - 1 winner $1150
$140 - 2 winners $600 each
$250 - 1 winner $2200
$265 - 2 winners $1175 each
$470 - 2 winners $2175 each"

assuming those are 10 handed and:
50+15 2 winners
70+15 (why would anyone even play the 50-15 if this one exists?)
115+20 1 winner
120+20 2 winners
220+30 1 winner
235+30 2 winners (big fan of this one)
435+35 2 winners (can that be right? sick sick value if so) (435X10)/2 = 2175 so I guess so. Very nice.

Sorry this has been asked before I am sure, but where does one get the chinatown bus from NYC - the one that gives you slot comps and a food voucher (such that the ride ends up being "free") ?

No slot comps, no food voucher. You get 2 $25 match plays, which have a cash value of approximately $23, so you are +EV by traveling ($15 ticket price, plus $2 "tip" they collect when you buy the ticket), but you have to gamble.

The ticket agent ("hostess") is in front of the White Swan Bakery (Bowery between Pell and Bayard) about one hour before the bus leaves. The bus actually picks up and departs from Division Street. I think the bus sells out quickly on weekends; I have had difficulties trying to reserve a seat by phone (language problem).

Just go there 20 mins before the departure time. You'll be fine. I take this bus every weekend, and i never have a problem getting a seat

This is the eventual goal.. Problem is PGCB. In order for this to happen. PGCB must approve the lammers as "promotional chips". This requires an extensive process for submission.

I may be wrong but I think the 1-3 PLO Game goes every night. Sometimes bumping up to 2-5

Went last night, first weekend night off since I have been back in NY.

1-3 PLO list was 10 deep at 10PM, so I sat in the 30 FLHE. Must-must move game was pretty good and I got stuck and, thus, was not going anywhere. Played 4 hours, game ranged from meh to very good depending on who got moved and who sat. Played 1 hour in the must move and that game was good too (lot of 3-5 way to the flop in raised pots and many 3 bet flops being seen 3 way or better as well).

Took the chinatown "AA" bus from Bowery and Division streets in Manhattan - good experience and very good value. $15 round trip fare includes 3 x $20 match play coupons. I chose blackjack, my former nemesis, and bricked all three bets (ldo). Will do again. F driving and $50 in gas money - the bus is for us.

Jason already gave you the daytime info. At night there's always 1 table and sometimes there's a must move as well. Game rarely breaks before 3AM and once in a while runs into the next morning. The 5/10 is populated by mostly regs. The 2/5 games seem to have looser play and many more all-ins, something you rarely see at 5/10.

2/5 is 200/1000
5/10 is 500/2000

Good Luck.

Don't know how important this is for you, but BJ is a bad choice for match plays because of ties and the inability to double/split your match play ticket. Roulette or craps (which I think is permitted) is almost certainly a better bet.
