Since we are talking about ways to make the game faster.

All the dealers need to be taught how to make change properly. Grab all the chips you need from the rack to make change at once, don't go back and forth breaking each chip individually. Right now its about half and half between dealers who do it right and who do it wrong.

One issue I've had the past couple times I've been to Parx is one of the Players abusing dealers. This is the first time I've seen this tolerated outside of Atlantic City. I even made a post a few months back about how friendly I thought the players were in the $15 game. However, there has been one guy I've been seeing in the room frequently for the past couple months who can be relentless on the dealers for minor mistakes.

For example, a couple weeks ago in a heads up pot where there was 6-7 raises back and forth on the flop, the dealer didn't pull the chips into the middle before dealing the turn. She simply left the chips that were bet in front of the players. This player (who wasn't even in the hand at this point) went crazy and started yelling at the top of his lungs about how horrible the dealer is. He was relentless about it her entire down. Even when she got pushed to a new table, he continued yelling across to the other table about her being an awful dealer.

It made everyone very uncomfortable at the table. (Well, at least it made me uncomfortable - I guess I can't speak for the others.) Incredibly, this player wasn't even involved in the hand when the incident took place! He had folded pre-flop.

Should she have pulled the chips into the middle? Yes.
Was it a major fire-the-dealer blow-up-the-cardroom mistake? Of course not!
Should a Player berate a dealer for this? Absolutely not!
Should a Player berate a dealer ever? Emphatic NO!

If you have a problem with a dealer, please go talk to the floorman. I don't want people coming into my office and yelling at me when I make a mistake. I treat dealers in their place of business the way I expect to be treated in my office. Have some common courtesy!

In my opinion, this type of abuse should not be tolerated. This guy was so loud, the floorman had to have heard the conversation, but no one said anything.

Anyone one know how many runners there are usually for the 7pm tourny at Parx? Thinking about taking a ride across the bridge.

I couldn't agree more, I'm often trying to make this point to people. Yelling at them only makes it worse anyway, cause now they are nervous and/or angry.

I'm really surprised about the situation you described, and I think its the exception not the rule. In my experience, Parx is way less tolerant of bad behavior towards the dealer than other places I've played at. I've seen people tossed in situations that I thought they should have been given a warning for.

Out of turn action is binding in like every other casino in the world
i just hate that when someone busts they can't get a hand right away...sometimes they get to cool off a few hands while waiting for chips...more than once, a dealer suggested to a player with cash in hand to go to the window and that it would be quicker and the player left and didn't return...in vegas, the player gets those same little chips that the dealers put out for making change and someone gives usually gives him a stack of reds to borrow until the chip runner comes. i've seen players bust before the chips get there.

so to the people saying carry chips in your pocket and that'll solve it, that's not the point. i want anyone who has a fistful of cash to get a hand asap.

but that's just selfish, i know.

Yes, and we're saying that if you have chips in your pocket, you can make it so those guys with a fistful of cash can get a hand asap.

We've already agreed that we wish cash would play/"play" in all games, and why we don't agree that dealers should be selling out of the rack. Playing behind is sorta like cash "playing", but it only works if the floor is right there to take your cash and runner it to the window.

If you just want to keep complaining about it in hopes that the room rules will change, well, go for it I guess.

I always buy extra chips. I generally offer them to players I don't want to lose.

Anyone notice the 2/5 getting significantly sharkier the last month or so?

This is a huge issue IMO. The best fish are the guys who keep pulling out $200 every hour or so and half the reason they do it is they're so pissed from the "bad beat" they just took. It's a bit immoral of me, but I want those guys to be able to get chips immediately. I don't particularly care how it happens, I just don't want them getting up, walking around and cooling off.

Hell, maybe Parx is actually being purposely ethical here? That possibility never crossed my mind 'til I typed that out.

2/5 games at Chester and Parx have dried up significantly IMO.

I just started playing 2/5 two weeks ago and I'm up a few thousand dollars. I wouldn't consider it full of sharks seeing as I've been so successful. It could be that I have been lucky as far as tables go with money stacks just donating.

I've been playing mostly PLO lately, but the bit of 2/5 I've played its been mostly the same people playing the same way.

I have noticed some of the absolute worst players at 2/5 sitting at 1/2 tables or absent entirely. Probably why Nick is complaining the games have dried up

Yeah results under 500 hours should be taken with a grain of salt. Two weeks is like 2,000 hands max for a non pro grinder which is meaningless. Nice run though.

It's certainly not full of sharks, it's just not as soft as it used to be. This is to be expected though I guess.

Sharkier tables is not affected by variance. If you go to the beach and see 27 sharks, you don't question the sample size, you gtfo of the water.

I am far from suggesting the games are too tough, just getting tougher. I think I've lost 3 times in my last 40 trips

Lol what?? You are 37/40 winning sessions and you're complaining? I am a very big winner at 2/5 and I've only won 82 of my last 138. We must have very different styles or you are on the run of a lifetime.

What is the min and max and is it mostly filled with 2/5 players? I assume you can raise or bet to any amount? The game isn't showing up on the game report.

Yeah his style is called fudging results pretty impossible to win 37/40.

Maybe I'm just a jealous hater though.

Lol, if I was fudging numbers (to impress a bunch of people who don't know me) I'd certainly have picked a more believable number
