Don't let the stud 8 scare you off the play is down right bad.
Lots of chasing one way lows and protecting marginal highs.
The 08 has a 1/2 kill if a 90.00 pot is scooped making kill pot 9/18

the biggest problem with the bathroom is the smell when you are taking a leak in the urinals. EZ solution, put those deoderant tablets in the urinals. Not sure what they are really called but you probably get the point.

as of today you only get "lobbyed" on bravo upon missing your blinds. Hopefully comps at 2/5 will go up soon too so parx can stay competitive.

This is 100% correct. Too many of the ol' timers chasing half the pot, and frequently missing on the river.

If you can apply 'stud h/l 101' concepts, be patient and you'll win more than you lose in that game.

I'm not an Omaha h/l expert by any means, but the play seemed better/tougher in that round.

I always do. I also tip them to go get me food from the noodle bar or Chickie's.

Think you just had some good timing Parxface. Couple weeks ago it seemed for a little while the bathrooms were much cleaner but it turned out to be a fluke. Been there the last 3 days and its been pretty bad at night. Last night might have been the worst ever in the bathroom smell wise. It smelled like somebody just took a huge dump, it was really bad and really crowded in there as well including attendent. Even the biggest poop in the world shouldn't be able to make a bathroom that big smell that bad throughout the whole bathroom. It prevented me from pissing in a toilet since I normally avoid the horrid piss smell at the urinals. But I had to pick the lesser evil and go to the urinals.

It has to be a combination of ventilation issues and poor attendents. I finally complained the a floor guy (normally I just complain here) the other day and he says they get tons of complaints. That department is run by Parx not the poker room and they would like to get that changed, thats at least how I understood what I was told.

I might just start using the ladies room when it isn't too busy. Not that many girls (15% tops?) are playing normally. I'd imagine their bathroom is much cleaner. Can any ladies here confirm?

Unless you sere a pile of crap in an empty bathroom you can't blame the attendants for a bathroom smelling like crap. Sometimes the crap smell is coming from a still occupied toilet. I personally think that most of the attendants do a very good job. Only cell phone guy have I ever seen just standing around doing nothing.

Any chance of a 1-3 nlh with 500max game happening?

there was some talk about it a couple of days ago in this thread...and i mentioned possibly having both button and UTG straddles (button gets first priority)...and possibly letting the 1-2 game have no straddle at all.

The idea sounds great, it would be a great middle game between 1/2 and 2/5. Also I think making the min and max be either 300min/500max or 300min/300max, kind of like the 5/10NL at commerce, which i believe is 500min/max.

Why do you need a middle game between 1/2 and 2/5? Really don't like the idea.

They should just get rid of 1/2 and make it a 1/3 game. 1/2 is becoming a nit fest.

1- ****ty comps.

I've generally only played in Vegas and AC so I can't compare to other local casinos. I play mainly 2/5nl. The majority of my play has been Borgata (east coast at $2/hr) and the Venetian (west coast at $1.5 hr) . Parx is at $1, it's something but on the low end and definitely below average. So maybe instead of ****ty I should have below average. There is no extras either, no free buffets or free drinks or anything really, at least not at 2/5. Freeroll is good though I guess.

-not really security issue but somewhat unsightly is the (mainly) chinese people sleeping in the lobby late at night. Curtain off a room or something for them to sleep in, some look homeless for gods sake.

I agree the comps are not that great. They need some change for the players.

I think the problem is the bus schedule. Many are probably from China town in NY. The buses don't run enough and many have to wait 4 or 5 hours for a bus. They do have a little waiting area with many seats, maybe require them to go there out of view. I don't really care, let them sleep imo.

The 2-5 is a 1k buy-in...1-3 would be 500, and 1-2 would be 300...it is a nice balance...especially if you are looking to gradually move up in stakes...

it really helps bankroll management.

plus i added the idea of only having straddles for 1-3 and up...leaving the 1-2 as a smaller game...not sure if everyone would care for that idea however.

They have a lot of 1-3 in vegas, and it is a great game.

And where do you think the 1/2 players will go if there is only a 1/3.. the nits will never go away, get used to it and punish them preflop.

Maybe if people learned how to bet pre flop players will not have to play like nits.
Raises to 17 or 20 with hands like KJ or A-10 0 make players tighten up and just 3 bet.How are punishing a nit pre flop.I would think smaller raises 8 or 10 then out play them post would be a better punishment.Nothing better then a bad lag at a 1/2 table spewing off chips.

1/3 in addition to 1/2 would be a big mistake imo and would probably hurt both 1/2 and 2/5. I do think that if 2/5 is 1k max, perhaps 1/2 should be 400 max. Parx gets so much 1/2 action that I don't se them screwing around with it

Leaving 1/2NL (no staddle) and not adding 1/3 seems to make a lot of sense, assuming that the above quote is accurate - Parx "gets so much 1/2 action". I am a recreational player. Have played Parx from time to time and it is usually very busy. But, I am a Thursday, Fri, Sat night player.

Shouldn't the 1/2 game cater to the recreational player/fish/donkey, whatever you want to call them? Don't we want 1/2 to be a game that attracts low-skilled players? Sure, the better players can make more money with straddles, $400 max buy ins, etc. But, that assumes the fish still come. Changing the 1/2 NL game at Parx because a bunch of 2+2ers want a change may be catering to a relatively small minority of players that probably don't drive the game.

Maybe I am wrong thinking that the 1/2 should cater to the recreational player/fish. But, I vote for leaving the 1/2 game alone and no 1/3.

The 1/2 game is fine the way it is.If your thinking about making an adjustment make the 2/5 a 500 max.
Seems Parx decided to placate the few in stead of taking care of the many.
Right now The B has 13- 1/2 and 11- 2/5
Parx has 15 -1/2 3- 2/5 This is not a abnormal occurrence.
Their 1/2 to 2/5 ratio is usually like that or 2-1 at worst.
Why is that well it's the 500 max. buy-in Time for Parx to wake up and quite catering to the few.

wtf are you talking about? I cant stand these idiotic posts about buyins anymore.

2-5 is 1k max! People are not required to buyin for 1k and most don't.

IMO Parx is doing a phenomenal job running the room, keep it up!
