Free drinks will do more to make the game fishy than any structure or rule change ever would.

When did they institute the 5bet cap in LHE? Is this for all limit games? Also if this is Phil, you do run pretty bad. Even though you were in three 5B pots without a pair.

5 bet cap is only for straddles, as mentioned in the post that introduced the straddles. As far as I know it is for all limit games, since straddles are in all limit games. This is not Phil, it is dinesh. I wasn't just in three 5B pots without a pair, I *made* three 5B pots without a pair. And I looked damn good doing it.

Who are the other names? Post if it gets running, if it does there's a chance I will be down.

Just played Parx and $2/$5 coincidentally for the first time last night. Did fairly well for my first time on $2/$5 and I'll definitely be back. Great poker room.

So straddle plays well. But surprised by number of regs that were unaware of the decision to start it this week. Suppose maybe many were at wsop, so out of the Parx loop a while. One thing the dealers and floor need to enforce is the timing of the straddle. Saw multiple examples wherebthe bet went out after cards were in the air... And can imagine some issue down the road at some table some time where players get in a bind over some drunken bastard that throws it in after seeing a card and dealer not realizing. So, rule should be enforced that is goes in before cards begin to fly, and otherwise utg just misses his opportunity to throw things up a notch.

Saw a guy get bent out of shape because "dealer didn't give him enough time to decide" to straddle and dealt too quickly! Floor was called so player could ask if dealerbis required to let tug know it's his turn to straddle. Ridiculous... And will likely be crazy nonsense unless rule is hard and clear. Wasted time, and kept me from my anticipated AA, that I knew was coming.

There is a firm rule. As soon as the first card is pitched you can no longer straddle. As long as you put the straddle up or verbalize prior to that happening then you are good. As far as how that is being enforced, is a different story

was at parx the other night and I noticed the bottled water has been downsized to these little kiddie-sized things. What a great improvement to the room and a brilliant cost-cutting maneuver by management. at least now I won't need to use the disgusting bathroom as often.

Firm rule indicates it is enforced. However, I am suggesting there is a rule. Firm is only discerned by enforcement. Given handful of straddle hours played this week, I would say that the rule exists, but is not yet FIRM. Dealers will be the difference.

Was the action a call all the way back to the UTG "straddler", and were they given the option to raise? Otherwise it is no different than it was before you were allowed to straddle.

I am just being devils advocate here, but if we are being super nitpicky about the rule we have to understand that the only scenario where the "rule" could be broken is if the cards were already being dealt and the UTG player tosses out a raise and the action is called all the way around and he is then given the option to raise himself. Otherwise it is just a blind raise, which was always allowed anyway.

It only needs to be firm if there is a fuss about it. The "firmness" is there in case someone decides to raise a stink, but like many other things at parx the discretion is left to the dealer (a good thing). So what if someone throws in their straddle after he gets one card if the dealer can obviously see the dude hasn't looked at it? But if someone wants to be a nit about it and say something then the dealer will enforce it. It's not a big deal.

Are you supposed to tip the chip runners? When you bust and need to rebuy do you tip the guy who runs to the cage with cash and gets your chips? never played at a place that did this before so wondering what etiquette is.

Maybe because I am cheap by nature but I always bring a 2.00 bottle of Fuji water with me.It's a zillon times bigger then the double shot size bottles.
There is also a vending machine in paddock area that has water and soda.
Was there all day Thurs. and noticed bathrooms were much cleaner and had a older gentleman doing a nice job of keeping them clean.(Not texting like afro-man was always doing).

Maybe a stupid question but I never played at PARX yet since I'm from York, PA, area. Never played much brick & mortar either except for Hollywood and once at Mohegan. Anyway, while looking at the live table report on the PARX website I noticed a table for $6-12 Oe. Can I assume limit Omaha eight or better? I have been praying for Hollywood to develop some interest in Omaha games which never happens. They even axed their Friday Omaha tourney. So I may be willing to travel if Parx runs it consistently.

Plus, rough guess on drive time from York to Parx?

OE is a mix game, O8 and stud 8. occasionally a straight 4-8 O8 game will run as well, particularly on weekends.

Thanx - I would have never guessed. The stud game makes this iffy.
