From the FAQ: "15/30 Stud (Cropping up more regularly)"

Is this really true? I haven't read any posts about stud actually going. I've only seen people ask about it potentially happening for a reduced rake. And I don't remember ever seeing it on the live report. I've asked to get it started a couple times when I've been to Parx, but it never got going. If it is truly running occasionally, is there a specific night that it is more likely to go? (please say a weekend night...)

I've seen the 15/30 stud go a couple of time during the week over the last month. There are two players that get it started, playing HU until others join. I've not seen it grow to more than 5 or 6 players so far, but I only play week days during the day.

Some of the 6/12 OE players talk about getting 15/30 OE going, but as far as I know it hasn't happened yet.

I saw it on the board sat night but not sure if it was an interest list or if the game was actually going...

For those that will ask...

Tuesday $100+$20 Tourney had 262 entrants. Paid top 27. $5,149 for 1st. $254 for 27th.
Was down to 26 and still going when I left at 1:15.

Thanks for the update. So sweet to have a weekly tourney like this in the area.

I got 11th in the tournament. One player refused to chop. The play was awful and it annoys me that idiots keep making final tables while good players have to settle for chump change. At least they'll donate their 120 buyin a very high majority of the time.

I still don't get why ANY good 2/5 regs play that $120 tourney. I see so many of them playing the tourney. There is no way your ROI in that tournament with 20% rake and bad structure is higher than grinding 2/5.

Pretty sure the final table didn't get started until 2:00 - 2:30. I think I saw them chop very soon after though.

The structure can not support the 200+ runners this tourney gets.
I,m guessing with 100 left the shovefest starts.
The chop thing confuses me.Myself I would only consider a chop with 3 left.
Is not the idea to have the 120 buy-in is to bink a good score?
Seems you would have to play perfect and still have your horseshoe strategically placed to do this.

The structure is so bad that I'm more than content to make 1-1.5k. Live low buy in tournaments are a joke in terms of structure, so it makes your edge over terrible opponents much lower.

I would never play this if I was a good 2/5 reg. It seems like a terrible idea in terms of hourly rate. My main game online was turbo sngs, so I am willing to suck it up on the high rake since I still think it is +EV for me to play this.

The shove fest starts early, as an example at the 800/1600 level -avg stack was 18k I would call an avg stack of 11 bbs a shove fest.

It's bad structure, but it's a daily, if you got a better structure you would be there till 7 am ... It is what it is for now, the structure is a little better on Sat, simply by having longer levels

Probably because they enjoy it.

Also, is there any tournament structure in the buy-in range of Parx's tournament that players don't complain about?

The shove-fest would come early even if there were an extra blind level and they were stretched to say 25 minutes. That's just the nature of these daily tourneys. I've only played one Tues and I thought it was very good relative to what can be done with 250+ people on a Tuesday night. I like the concept of final table around 2am and a chop somewhere thereafter.

Some people hate the chopping, but when you all have 8 BBs aren't you in effect chopping in the long run anyway? It's for the most part a crap shoot when you're down to 6 or so in these things.

As for beating the rake, I guess 23% does seem a bit high when you think about it. 20% plus 3%(I think) to the dealers is over $6k to the house for this past Tuesday. Yikes.

What Happened to the 4/8Omaha Game. I don't see it anymore.

It runs infrequently, mainly during busy times. It has mostly been subsumed into the 6-12 OE game.

It ran last night. As did 1/3 PLO.

Yep.

And then there are times where the interest list hovers around 6-7, and never gets called.

Huh? This is true of all live tournaments and this is a Good Thing. You want to FT with good regs who will be shoving and calling light? I FT'd last Saturday's tournament and the play on the bubble/FT was super juicy, people folding and showing AQ/AJ with like 5bbs because they wanted to badly to mincash.

I wish more people played PLO though we got the game running last night but it was mostly 4 handed

What do you mean? What is true of all live tournaments? That the field is mostly bad players? I am not complaining. I am just complaining the people left after I busted were all awful.

I was the asian kid who randomly came over and complained about the tournament during breaks to my friend in the glasses and green shirt in the PLO game. Where were you relative to him? Also, I planned on playing PLO barring a good run in the mtt.

I also wanted to add the dealers yesterday were ridiculous. One dealer spent like 1 minute adjusting the cards in all in situations like it's TV or something. One dealer was extremely slow. One dealer was walking to a player while she was running the board when 2 players were all in. The dealer had literally no idea had to do a raceoff either. It was pretty absurd that they are so underprepared for something they charge each player 23 dollars.
