Awesome, PM me your number when you get a chance, I co-ordinate by text.

We started at 7, but 3 of us were there by 6, if you get there early and are willing to start short, we can start early. We agreed to do this every week for a while to try and build the game.

We switch games every time the button hits the 9 seat.

Can anyone else confirm this logic ?
In tournaments, once you pay out a full table, then the next jump is in increments of full tables. So from 8 to 18 to 27. Some places start paying 18 spots at 100 players, which can result in 16-18 making less than what they bought in for.

In regards to the levels, if the tournament was chopped 5 ways at 3:30, adding 150-300 and 500-1000 means that the chop would have been after 4am. 10 hours for a $120 buy in??

How often they should be cleaned is worthy of discussion. Monthly, Bi-Monthly, Quarterly, I dunno? It's obvious that cleanliness is important to many of us. While I don't think that they're 'Taj-like' right now I would think that cleaning them before they get 'really bad' would be a good policy. And in general letting us know that they'll always be some degree of clean would be great.

On the topic of hygiene, I personally wash my hands pretty often during a session. However, most players don't. So here's another vote for hand sanitizers being installed in the room.

The bathrooms - I've found them to be pretty hit or miss on the cleanliness front. I'd like to see the bathroom staffed 24/7. One of the paper towel dispensers (sensor operated) has already broken and the others are far from a sure bet to work. Also at times there is no attendant to be found for exceedingly long stretches. Not cool.

In general anything that promotes a clean and comfortable atmosphere is good for business, especially if Parx wants to be considered an elite poker venue. I love the fact that Ari and staff have been responsive to our requests and care about their players which is why I feel that submitting posts like this is time well spent.

Thanks for taking the time to read this Ari.

I'm going to second cleaning the chips. They are already getting grimy and sticking together. Also, a bathroom attendant would be great... at least during the busy hours.

live poker takes a while.net players keep insisting on trying to change the live game to resemble the 20 table/superturbo bingo fest chaos their used to online.

im in favor of clean chippies BTW
Spoiler:
welcome to live poker, get used to it....its inherently boring...not a video game

Automatic flushers and faucets in the bathroom would be huge and would help with the smell issue. Dividers between the urinals would add a touch of class. Hand sanitizer throughout would certainly be nice and wouldn't be too pricey I would think--and you want your players healthy and playing!

Refilling every dispensor constantly for the germophobes could get semi expensive maybe?

How come noone has invited me to the 15 game btw?

I've been around poker rooms for a long time,in fact I played in the !st stud game in A.C.,at the Sands. (I know I know...whoopty-dam-do).
I've gotten a lot of insight from the managers and some of the top brass over the years. (was even there the day it closed...again,whoopty-dam-do).

Top management could care less about poker players.I'm sure Ari means well, but when he runs these ideas past HIS bosses, they must rotfltao. You want hand sanitizers and more bathroom attendants, and auto flushers? Yeah right!

If it wasn't for the Board of Health, they'd make you bring your own toilet paper.
Listen guys, stop moaning and whining about every little thing. Why can't you bring a travel size of Purell?.I know there are some poker players who hate to pay for ANYTHING....even with walls of chips in front of them.

Why don't you just focus on more important things

Just comparing the room to the competition on the shore, where you can find automatic flushers/toilets/urinals, automatic hand sanitizer dispensers, and you can often witness chips being cleaned. Parx has expressed an interest in being #1, and I think we are just trying to help them do that (and help ourselves of course).

I can't take credit for the"whoopty-dam-do" quote. It was 1st uttered by the great Daryl Dawkins. For you youngins who don't know who he is,Google him. The guy was hilarious.

I know where you're coming from, but don't compare Parx with any of the A.C casinos. They got the market locked, and aren't going to spend any extra money any time soon Imagine the cost of ripping out all the hardware for the toilets and urinals.
A little more background. I have a black card.It takes some pretty big action to get one.And you know what they give you for that,,,****! They're willing to give you a grape for a watermelon.

Resorts was the same way when the they 1st opened. YOU GOT NOTHING!!! Things didn't loosen up till they got 4 or 5 casinos open.

Good luck on your requests guys. I'm pretty anal when it comes to cleanliness,so I hope you get the changes.

I think Parx should take it up a notch. Let's have an attendant flush for everyone.

Bring own toilet paper. Not a bad idea. I could envision sitting at the table, going into a bag and pulling out some TP and telling the table I'll be back in 10 minutes. Probably get am interesting reaction.

Regarding Purell, that stuff is really cheap. It would probably cause Parx no more then $100 to intall a dozen wall mounts and probably cost about $50/month in actual product. Much better solution then everyone worrying about carrying a personal bottle.

These things are actually important. Take the Taj for example, there were #1 at one point. They didn't skimp on comps, they didn't increase rake. Now they are considered an afterthought, it wasn't because of the "important things" . It was the small things, like cleanliness, safety, etc. Both things parx has some issues with at the moment.

With poker rooms and most businesses . It doesn't matter if you are #1 or how much better you are, if you don't stay on top of things someone better will replace you.

Wouldn't be good enough, someone would still post here that they expect more personal service like they get in AC. How can Parx management expect a poker player to wipe for themselves? That's outrageous!

I play at parx a lot and for the most part the bathroom stall a are pretty clean. Of course people are animals and pee all over as soon as they are cleaned but I've never been there and been unable to find a clean stall. I think it's funny that others have mentioned the black kid who is forever on his phone, he must think nobody notices???
Sam, while I agree that the way you describe upper mgmt is generally correct Parx does pay more attention than any other room to their players.
I also agree with zrap. Parx main competition is AC, specifically the borgata. They have to make sure not to become a Taj

Maybe they should have the guy that does the wiping put players chips in the pot for them too...that way they won't have to whine about them being dirty!

If the dispensers get used THAT much then there must be a need for them and should be put in. Nothing wrong with being sanitary.

No invite? Maybe you don't wash your hands...

He may have said it,but Dawkins was the 1st. I think it was when a reporter told him that he was the 1st player to ever shatter a backboard.

Speaking frankly, i really hope that Parx makes some management changes including getting rid of Ari. I have never seen a room or room manager make decisions that are as counter productive for the players as he and his staff does. The handling of the Albanian was probably one of the worst management decisions I have seen in a room in a long time. Of course Chester doesn't mind his action with 2 or 3 10-25 NL games instantly starting when he shows up there. I was playing 5-10 NL there at 5AM a few weeks ago and one of the nitwit floor supervisors had the 80's rock channel literally blasting via satellite radio. When we told them as much as the white trash music fit the setting, sans the hookers around the bar found at say the Hard Rock in Vegas we would just as soon not have the music on or switch it to anything without lyrics. The floor guy in the cheap men's warehouse suit comes back 15 minutes later and essentially tells us to go **** ourselves. Haven't been back since.
