i don't get why it would be unfavorable assuming there is a dealer available...it would be much more rake for them rather than people waiting...then they could bring new players to the HU table and they can just sit out until 6 people come or play if they want. Or for players who wanted to table change to start fresh or something, they could swap over to the new table...better than 2-4 people waiting an hour. i know the wait isn't usually that long.

i got smoked tonight i'm not adjusting super-well to people's limp-call range and isoing a bit too wide I think.

Once people put money in pot at 1/2 they are very reluctant to fold to a iso raise then if one calls all call.
I would tighten up iso range and widen my limp behind range to hands they play well multi-way.Small suited connectors and suited 1 and 2 gapers suited kings.
I won't iso hands like AJ KJ most people are 1st level thinkers and some don't think of your range at all.
Best to play solid ABC poker and wait for a hand and hope to get paid. The need to be patient is your best friend at these games. If you must make moves make them on the few players you will find who are capable of finding the fold button.

This statement is so true, I played super nittish yesterday folding mostly ever hand, and walked out with a couple racks. Check out that post by flattiresuited, about live poker. It really helped me "dumb" my thought process down and it's been all in the black since

That blows my mind to not iso AJ and kj. I'm about to start a sess. Gonna give it a try. On the stupid waitlist :/. Caught a horse race though which was fun. Prob will still iso if its only 1 or 2 and I'm close to button.

I will look for that post too. Ty

One thing I've been wondering: What are the 24-hour food options at Parx? I know the one grill place on the first floor with the track betting closes around... 8pm I think? Is there anywhere else in Parx East to eat at a random hour? What about in the main casino?

Noodle bar (downstairs...3 min walk) from poker room is open til 4am Sund - Thurs. Open til 6am Fri and Sat.

Pork and rice bowl is solid...so is chicken and rice. That's really all I've had and it's a great late night option IMO.

Yes, but the selection can be real weak late at night/early morning. The food isn't all that great either. I ordered a turkey hoagie a while back and it was slightly frozen. I think they should add bagels to the bar menu. It's cheap, simple, and very satisfying for a quick bite to eat.

Or even a selection of energy/meal repacement bars would fit quite nicely

As far as I know, the noodle bar is actually open til 4am 7days a week, even though they advertise 6am on weekends.

Can anyone help with the following, haven't played parx that much during the week. Can anyone tell me how the room is during the week? Are the 2/5 games played with regulars just waiting till the 5/10 game gets started. Or should I just sit at 1/2 and hope to get lucky?

trip report for last night. I'm a regular at Parx, but thought I'd just share this moment.

Night time at Parx brings an interesting poker players.

Last night a hand occured at my table.

2 limpers from MP. A girl with about a 50 dollar stack bets 25 from the sb. Both players around 300 chips deep call. Flop comes J-J-7. She goes all in for her remaining stack. Fish MP1 calls, and player makes it 100 to go. Fish MP1 calls. Turn comes a 2s. So the board is JJ72 with two spades. Fish checks, MP2 shoves for ~200. Fish calls with Q8ss. Ace spade hits river lol. MP2 had KJ. Got up with class and did not say a word.

Half the players at my table didn't know how to play. Like literally didn't know the basics of poker. After most of the fishes went broke I switched tables. I pick up AJcc on the button with 4 limpers around 125 deep. I make it 11 to go, and everyone calls. Flop comes J-J-K. Checked to me, I overbet the flop making it 60. Cutoff calls.

Turn is an Ace. He checks, I shove (at this point figured he's committed, going to get most value). He folds Q-10 face up. Soul read, but still made absolutely no sense.

Sorry if my spelling etc. is off I'm at work typing pretty quick, but moral of the story is Night/day crowds at Parx are totally different.

Also, Anyone know Frank? He's the jovial big guy (reg) who talks a lot, curious what you guys think of his play.

Are the return buses pack during the night? I want to do a day trip and try Parx out. Also how busy is the room during 11am-ish?

How many people on here qualified for the free roll? How many are actually going to play it?
I'll start.
I'm going to play it.

~580 qualified. I am currently planning to attend.

I believe the plan is to have 10 handed tables, though it may depend on how many actually register and show up.
