After playing the above 2 games for the last 2 weeks my views:
I do not think the 4/8 game is beatable between the rake and no one folds any
piece of a low you will die a slow death. You may not lose much as I did but you will not be a steady winner.(save me the I want to be in a game where no one folds line and just go beat that game then).

Now the 6/12 OE game was a much better option.I was surprised how the stud 8 played as been my experience this round usually has the smaller pots. Not here the chasing lows and players capping marginal high hands makes this game very playable.

On a sidenote the 2 games seem to play against each others player pool.
People were trying to break/change the 4/8 game in order to make a 0E game.Ask once and don't sit there and whine or go play short and start your own game.

Yeah, would love to play the 2-7 NLSD live sometime. With just one street of postflop betting it's hard to get hurt too badly in this game. Plus it moves fast, well at least online. Would be fun for kicks. But I wouldn't want to lose any potential players over it though.

I'll probably be going tonight. I'll start up a 15/30 Hose list if I do. If people show up, we'll try and turn it into a 6 or 7 game.

Anyone who wants to play the mix game and would like to be on some sort of text list, please PM me and give me your cell number. That might be the best way to mobilize a game sometime.

I've also played some hours in both of those games, and you're pretty much spot on.

The O8 game features some of the regs from Taj's 5/10 kill game. They are mostly nitty grumps. You're also right about them chasing ANY low.
I guess I'll never understand why so many low limit O8 players chase 1-way hands...

The OE game is better, especially the stud 8 half. I was somewhat surprised that people wanted to play stud 8 at all.

Not sure about the games hurting one another, but I'm hoping that the OE game stays healthy (at least) on Saturdays.

Everyone, I started a 15/30 Stud list (there is no slot for 15/30 Hose). But we can make it whatever the majority wants if it gets enough people. Just Stud, S/E, Hose, 7 game mix..whatev

So far, I think 3 people are in...Troll, BriMc, and myself..and the target time is around 9-10pm

Did the 15-30 mix game get going last night? If not, any idea why not?

List got up to three. But that did not include BriMc and Phaedrus. BriMc forgot to put himself on but he had to leave at 11:30pm anyway. Think Phaedrus was in the room and I would have tried to find him if I thought we were close to running

Troll and Falker1, was that you guys on the list as well?

I called up to put my name on the 15/30 Stud list. (List we were using for mix, maybe we should request them to give us a mix list) But then when I got there my name was not on the list for whatever reason. So I was #3

Phil, are you interested in this game? We are close to getting this off the ground..we maybe need 1 or 2..we basically had 5 in the room that would have played..but since Brian had to leave at 11:30pm I did not pursue it.

If anyone is interested in getting on a text list for this game, please PM me your cell number

Multiple reasons it didn't go, in this order IHMO -

1) Not enough players that wanted to play the same games at same levels.
2) Not enough player coordination ahead of time.
3) PARX floor isn't really going to help a game get going on a Saturday unless it reaches the required number of people for a full table. The 8/16 HOSE list sat at 6 people from 10pm on and never once did they call the game or try to sell it. Now I don't really blame them - during a peak time they have their hands full.
4) Having enough players willing to play multiple game types even if they aren't your favorite.

I would think an ideal situation would be where players and PARX meet halfway in being proactive about getting new games going.

I'm working on #2 and #3 with the cell phone text list

If we have enough people where people want to play, I will text and tell everyone to meet in the room and we will walk over and request that the game be started.

#1 and #4 are recruiting..if anyone knows anyone...reach out

I'll type up a post for Ari..it occurred to me, we haven't really even asked him if the room would spread this game..and how it would work

Last night we had 5 people in the room that would have played. We are close, so keep fighting the good fight imo

Ari, several of us are interested in organizing a 7 Game Mix. 15/30 Hose and 2/5 NLHE, PLO, and 2-7 NL Single Draw Lowball

When you get a moment, could you please respond to a few questions?...

1) Will the room spread such a game? We understand the dealers would not really be trained for the 2-7 NL SD.
2) Could we get a 15/30 Mix added to the board? Or at least 15/30 Hose.
3) Standard stud structures of $2 ante and $5 bringin?
4) Would it be okay if we rotated games every 8 hands?
5) How would the rake structure work for such a game?

Thanks!

I am, but I'm not very reliable when it comes to showing up at a particular time, so I'm more of a "if the game goes and I'm there I'll play" type of player.

I would play this with a friend if the HOSE game is at least 50-100. Could play a few nights a week.

5) How would the rake structure work for such a game? ($6 per half)

Thanks!

Pipes please my answers above.

Thank you

Thanks, Ari

Regarding your answer to #1, someone posted a list of legal games and I thought lowball single draw was on there..of course you would know more than me lol

Assuming that is true though, could we possibly play draw high? 5 card stud? Just curious...

too rich for me, but they did have a 50/100 Stud and 5/10 NLHE game rolling for a little while a few weeks ago

Closest to razz would be 7-card stud hi/lo (no qualifier for low). Draw games are approved but as described, it's single draw only.
Ari, this was the list I was referring too...

There was talk of half rake to help promote some less popular games...that couldn't apply here? If only full time is allowed, I think we might consider doing rake instead of time, especially with an 8 hand rotation. We'll get barely any hands each half.

Not sure about the games hurting one another, but I'm hoping that the OE game stays healthy (at least) on Saturdays.

Played yesterday (Sunday) the 4/8 O8 game started around noon. By 1pm the 6/12 OE game started and 8 out of the 9 players got up to start that game thus breaking the O8 game.

The 6/12 OE game was decent and around 7pm the game got shorthanded with the must move game disolved. We got $2 reduced time which I think was tremendous (thanks Ari).

One of the people I recognized from the Taj 5/10 O8 game that came over from the broken must move game refused to play since it was "shorthanded with 6". He actually sat with chips and proceeded to just sit there and complain some more before picking up and not playing a single hand. We actually told him either play or leave since he was holding up the game and the dealer kept waiting for his action. Go figure.

Anyways bummed the O8 game didn't go, but in all fairness for a Sunday there were 2 6/12 OE games going pretty much for the whole afternoon up until we broke the main game at/around 9pm.
