So $250/hr (if 50 hands at $5 raked a hand) vs $108... seems like less money. Someone correct my hands/hr, and other values if I'm wrong. But I guess each player has to pay $12/hr whereas you only have to pay rake if you play the hand, so it makes more sense that way...
In addition to being too high on the number of hands per hour (as addressed by the other posters), I would say (not based on data, just my own recollection) that the assumption of $5 a hand is way too high.

The 25-30 hands an hour includes hands with no flop (and therefore, no drop), and hands in which the rake is only a buck or two. Off the top of my head (again, without data, would actually be interested in getting data from anyone in the industry with reliable info), I'd say they average rake is more like $3/hand. At 30 hands/hour, this is $90. This would be less than the $108/hour which a full 5-10 NL table generates every hour, no matter the number of hands or the size of the pots.

This...but lets add NL 5 card draw and 5 card stud

In all seriousness would be down for some sort of mix on Saturday night. I think the more games we add the more we should consider an 8 hand rotation rather than a half hour rotation

lol I'll play anything

But yeah, I definitely agree with the 8 hand thing. I think the half hour is too much even when they just play HOSE.

Phaedrus, are you down with a mix that is more than just Hose?

Right now, we might have 4 or 5..maybe try it on some Saturday when Nick thinks he can make it?

Slight preference for HOSE, but I'd be into more of a mix. I don't mind the half hour rotation, but if we do 8 hands we need to make sure to pay rake or ideally half time...since we'll get like no hands in per half.

I should be there on Saturday. Whether or not I'll want to play is in large part dependent on whether a good 30/60 lhe game gets going.

Ok cool

well, if Nick can play one weekend we might have 5..we should probably try and have 6 lined up the day we attempt to do this

anyone else? Troll Inc?..try and recruit some people..so far the general lists of potential interest is

7 Game
1. pipes
2. BriMc
3. NickMPK
4. Falker11
5. Phaedrus29 (only if good 30/60 LHE not running)

15/30 HOSE
1. pipes
2. Phaedrus29

15/30 SE
1. pipes
2. Phaedrus

If we get 7-8 on a general list of interest, I'll start a separate thread for a specific date

I'd be in for any of the mixes...but prefer Hose +2/5 nl and pl.

The 30/60 caveat would apply to me as well.

I would play 6-game or HOSE. I guess I would play 7-game too, but isnt triple draw a 6-player max game? Is it even an approved game?

This is a simple and i'm sure stupid question but I've never played 2/5 Live. I'm looking to make my first appearance at parx this week and was wondering, if you join a 2/5 game do you pay the time right then or do you want til the next half hour increment and pay with everyone else?

$2/5 at PARX is raked, not timed. You do post, however in an existing game, or wait for the button.

To answer the general question, time is collected when the dealer first sits down, so if you weren't there, you don't owe. If you sit down at a time game, you do not have to pay time until the next dealer change. If you manage to sit right as the dealers are changing, you typically don't have to pay time since you haven't taken a hand yet - this is particularly true if the game has no list.

There may be some exceptions where they will force you to post time anyway (must move during a dealer change, guy sits with a big list and decides to wait for 10 minutes to be dealt in in order to try to avoid the time, etc.), but you'll never have to pay if you sit in the middle of a down.

It doesn't tend to run 24 hours yet though. 6am-2pm is the definite soft spot, and you are not likely to play then even on a weekend.
Are you aware if Parx has any plans to build a hotel next to it's casino? It seems to me that the 15 game would run 24/7 or at least be much stronger.

The game I had on my list was 2-7 NL Single Draw, not Triple Draw. The single draw appears to be on the approved list.

It typically is a 7 player game. But I can't envision any problems playing 8 handed.

But I'm certainly fine with a 6 game. I certainly wouldn't let this game keep potential players away. If someone is in that boat let me know.

But the game plays pretty small. With one draw it's hard to get burned badly. So it's not a bad game for someone not familiar with it. Just avoid having 23467 vs someone's 23457.

But I basically threw this on the list at the end for kicks..but 7 Game sounds cooler than 6 game...but I have no problems ditching it if anyone has any concerns..I'm not even sure the room would spread it

5-10NL at Parx last night.

Me: AQ
Villain: AJ

Board: A5K35

Villain bets huge on the river, I call. I flip the AQ...

He shows AJ and says, "I knew you had me when you called!"

AND MUCKS!!! (Cards don't hit the actual muck).

Dealer pauses. I nudge him and say, "He mucked!"
The dealer TAPS THE MUCKED HAND AND LOOKS AT THE PLAYER!!!

The player shrugs and says, "What? I showed...I had AJ". The dealer waits AGAINNNNNN.

Villain finally turns over his hand and the dealer chops the pot!!!!
Villain says, "OHHHHHH, I did not see the 5 on the river!"
I say, "I KNOW you didn't!"

I am freaking out and the floor is standing there watching and NOTHING happens except an apology to me from the dealer.

$1600 pot. Vomit.

Sorry, as soon as he shows hes entitled to half the pot. It doesnt matter if he knows at any point what he had.

Did he turn his hand face up on the table (even if only briefly) before throwing them? If so, he showed the hand down, the cards are live and speak for themselves. Thus, he's entitled to half the pot even if he didn't know what he had.

What exactly do you mean by shows? He flashed them to the dealer or other player while holding them.. or he placed both cards face up on the table prior to mucking them?

Well I'm definitely going to be there on Saturday. I will play any mix that includes both NL/PL, but I would really like to play NL Single Draw. I've never played it before, and I doubt many in the game will have so I'm sure it will be a lot of fun.

He flashed them to me...I'm in the one seat and he is in the nine.

Hmmm. . . if he didn't show the dealer or hold them face up to the table, I think it's a mucked hand.

Since he flashed me in the one seat, the dealer is between us, so he saw them. Just a weird spot waiting for the dealer to get his attention when he left his seat presumably beat.
