Gize, I phoned in and started a 15/30 Stud Interest list. Doubtful, but you never know. A stud game broke out the other day among some NLHE players.

I'm making dinner now. I'll be there at 9:30pm. I'll play with 5.

P.S. I can't post again in my 15/30 thread until someone else does, so if you are also interested in getting this game going sometime, please post some content in there from time to time

1. Do they still offer free play dollars when you sign up for a card and show any AC players card? Is this good with any AC Casino Card and good on Saturday?

2. Are drinks free in the main casino where slots are located? (Free drinks will keep the ladies busy while I play poker)

Sorry if these questions have been answered but I read through around the first 100 pages of this thread the last few weeks and was just hoping for a quick response before I head to PARX tomorrow. Plus you will probably want me at your table since I am a fish.
Yes you still get free play and it's good when you sign up. Drink free in main casino if you are playing I'm almost certain. Its smokey though if that matters.

It's full with a list right now.

30-60LHE game has run the last 2 or 3 Saturdays, starting around 7pm(full game). If you want to play this 30game, I would suggest every Saturday night. You can start a List of Interest on the phone, so if it's earlier in the day, you could always start the list, then call/stop by to see it open/start. Hopefully it will continue to go every Saturday, then expand more frequently on a different night also. But, as of now, i believe it will continue to run every Saturday night/Sunday morning!!! And, I also agree, once tourny's start/ and or Summer, it will become an almost everyday go!!!

Ari was standing by our table Saturday night and someone asked him about it, he said he doesn't really like them , so its probably not going to happen.

I asked him about a BBJ cause I've heard so many people saying they heard it was coming yadda yadda, and he said very clearly that there will never be a BBJ at Parx as long as he is there.

After playing a lot at Chester recently I've come to the conclusion that the straddle is definitely +ev for good players as bad players love to do it an the bbj just might be +ev bc of how much ppl talk about it at the tables and love playing "bad beat" hands whenever possible.

100% agree. The BBJ is only good because players play very odd(terrible) due to the BBJ. Straddles I am not so sure about when it is UTG. It def +ev to do a button straddle though if you are above average in poker.

I think straddles make sense in limit games. It allows action players to splash around and have fun without making the game twice as large for everyone else. However, in no-limit, I think it gives too big of an advantage to the good players because it makes the game play twice as big as it would without the straddle.

I agree with no BBJ.

By the way, I'd like to add that I'm very impressed that Parx has all these rules to protect the average to below-average player from losing too quickly. Most poker rooms don't care (some even allow the god-awful Mississippi straddle which gives the good player the opportunity to straddle the button!) However, Parx has made a conscious effort not to make rules that excavate the chips from their players too quickly. BBJ's suck money out of players who play too many pots, straddles make players play higher then they would like, and games below $4-8 LHE cannot overcome the rake.

That's actually not correct. It makes skill less of a factor and your cards more of one. Stacks become effectively shallower and cut in half. As an extreme example imagine if 6 people straddled...anyone with AJ+ is just gonna go all in and there's nothing any better player can do about it.

It just makes the game more gambley and looser. And even when straddle goes away some people are stuck and some are up more than normal and everyone opens up

That's assuming everyone knows to adjust to the straddle.

When people don't know how to adjust, then the straddle becomes +EV for those that do.

I like the idea of the straddle, do not like the idea of BBJ!

What sense does punching at table make? Wait in the lot

Did this threat come during a private conversation or one that could be heard by others?

The "no BBJ" is enough to make me want to visit, but I would like to see straddles. I'm convinced the straddle is one of the reasons the action @CTown is so nuts. I'm not a fan of the BBJ, even though it may attract more casual players.

... Parx will not lack opportunity for a considerable amount of action on any given day, for some time to come. The room is 4 months old and healthy IMHO. I also feel this room doesn't need to use those tools to create traffic. Also, there is bound to be a juicy table or two with 20-35 tables running 22 hrs/day. From what I've seen, 7-10am kind of slow a few days.
