plb, Brimc and anyone else..how about Friday at 8pm?

I would do a game midweek if we could get enough, but otherwise maybe shoot for Friday and give ourselves the best chance

had a few hours to spare tonight, so I went over to parx east for some NL action. when i arrived, the parking lot was more crowded than usual, so i ended up parking pretty far away. as you can imagine, the walk from my car was like the journey to Mordor. i zigzagged through the potholes, broad-jumped some huge puddles, and avoided the sketchy guy who seemed to be just hanging out with no intentions of going inside. all in utter darkness. when i finally made it up to the big glass doors in one piece, i was already a winner on the night. as i entered the building, i noticed that the first floor has been converted into some sort of detainment camp for degen asians. how awesome. perhaps they could set up a few poker tables down there...

anyway, my night was short...less than two hours, and on my way back to my car, who did i see in the parking lot, wandering around in the shadows? that's right...the same sketchy guy who was out there two hours earlier, looking even more sketchy this time around. tell you what, i wouldn't want to be a single female walking around outside of parx at night. and i don't much like being a skinny white guy who's carrying nothing but cash and chips in his pockets.

Friday 8pm is good for me but I could also play midweek.

If plb and Brimc are good with 8pm and a time/date is decided, let's start a specific thread for it.

Ari-thank you for responding to the issue of soft play. While I disagree with your position, I also understand why there is not a rule against it as it would be almost impossible to enforce. Also appreciate that you realize there are 2 sides to the argument. For me, now that you have posted the Parx's position I am done commenting on soft play. It really is not that big an issue, as if i think there is too much of it going on i get a table change.

85chick-read one of my early posts on the subject and i gave a specific example of how it is "cheating" in my opinion. Although I have to admit Repulse made the case far more elequently than I did.

On the $10 chips - I know they have to be approved by whoever...
Is there a chance it doesn't get approved or is it just a formality that will happen but take a while?

Great, I'll start a thread in a day or so..but yeah, I'll wait to see if plb and Brimc want to play then, if not try and make it another day

Did you mention this to security if you felt unsafe? You know, be a sort of " town watch" if your that worried about the safety of everyone?....no wait ....just don't say anything so you can run into him again a couple hours later. Who cares about anybodies safety anyway right?.....wait...that's why your posting. Your concerned about peoples safety...right right. That's why you didn't tell security about the shady dude? I'm confused

the first floor has been converted into some sort of detainment camp for degen asians. how awesome.

Did you ask floor/security what that is about because you were concerned? Do you have an issue with people of Asian descent? If I'm not mistaken, Asians tend to be non-confrontational for the most part. Not sure about your concern.

anyway, my night was short...less than two hours,

Didn't you mean to say..." I lost my azz because I suck at poker. I'm pissed, and sucking at poker is the perfect reason to flame Parx"

who did i see in the parking lot, wandering around in the shadows? that's right...the same sketchy guy who was out there two hours earlier,

See above. Could very well have been handled properly if you truly cared about the safety of others

i wouldn't want to be a single female walking around outside of parx at night.

Your constant attempts at making Parx out to be a crime ridden war zone is irresponsible/spiteful at best. Aside from the mini-problem the casino had in degenerate parents leaving their kids in the car, I haven't heard of any serious incidents since the opening of the poker room. I haven't heard of any serious incidents (ie: Sugar loaf and others) since the inception of the casino itself let alone the poker room. Do they have meds for vindictiveness?

i don't much like being a skinny white guy who's carrying nothing but cash and chips in his pockets.

1) Carry mace Mr. Paranoia.............but it's not paranoia in your case, it's hater-oia

2) Why on earth would you be carrying chips in the parking lot?
Your unreal

Conspiracytheory-itis, or do you have something concrete? PM if you'd prefer.

Are you really worry about a few old asian ladies taking a nap on the middle space waiting for their bus back to NY after being BUSTO???

Parx East has been the bus depot for the asian communities in NY.

Why bring the race issue ? I am sure these old asian ladies are way safer than bunch of PA trailer park rednecks thinking they are better because they were born in the woods.

Absolutely nothing dangerous about "winners row" where all the chinatown folks are sleeping waiting on their rides back to NY/Philly/Baltimore/NJ

I'm in.

We might want to shoot for next Friday though, give us a bit more time to publicize it and get players, I will always start short, but I don't want to play short the whole night.

My apologizes to Stan and the Borgata. This statement was the result of a misunderstanding and bad post on my part. Sometimes, I think and then write and sometimes, I write and then think and othertimes, I just write and forget to think at all.

Is the May 17th date for the tournament set in stone now?

Cool

I'll start a thread later on and see what interest there is.

Playing short would waste our half rake promotion as we would get half rake anyway.

Plus playing short in 7CS is a little bit lame imo..because there are no antes in the pot to fight over. It's not like hold'em where the blinds stay the same.

Has the 30/60 game become somewhat of a regular occurrence? If so, which day and time does it usually go?

Seems Sat night is prime, say 7ish? Wish that guy who maintains the tracking site would put it in so we could watch its pattern.

Def becoming more regular. We had a great game that started short around 8pm on Saturday, actually filled up to a FULL table for a while, and played all through the night until 3pm on Sunday afternoon! OK maybe we can't expect that length every weekend, but it seems the game is certainly picking up steam. $10 chips please!

I'm definitely in for the stud game....but there HAS to be an ante. I'm pretty sure Ari will agree with that.

Never played a stud game without an ante

Lol then you haven't seen the 1-5 Stud games with 70+ average age at Taj. You are better off not seeing or playing it.

No one was suggesting we play without an ante, just that Playing 7CS short is lame because there isn't as much in the pot to start and it kills the action.

I think its best to do what you did with the mix game, pick a day in advance so we can get at least 7-8 committed to play.

Beginning of last summer I played Taj 1-5 (I'm not 70+) and it was timed, no ante.

I still like the idea of a timed 2-10 as a LL7CS game instead of running 1-5. I would think a 2-10 could feed the 15 7CS as well .

Ideally, I'd like to see a 6/12 ($1 ante/$2 BI) stud game. The Saturday OE game switched to 6/12 a couple of weeks ago (good move, IMO) and seems to be doing well. I'd think that a straight 6/12 stud game wouldn't affect the OE game either.

IMO, 4/8 & 8/16 won't get much interest. I'd think that there'd definitely be interest in 15/30.
