They will not spread any 5/10 or 10/20 limit games

4/8 O8b is usually always running..maybe 8/16 has at some point, ..8/16 HOSE runs on weekends

I plan on playing tomorrow after work.

I'll start interest list for the following games at 8/16:

HORSE*
O8b
O/E

*If 4/8 HORSE would be more likely to go early, i'll play that.

Anyone interested in any of those games tomorrow?

O8 or O/E would be great at 8/16...really don't like the play of H.O.R.S.E...having all three stud games played one after another. Maybe H.O.E. would play better. The game changes every half hour...not after 8 hands.

Ari, if this is true please make it 30 hours. Please please please

More like a $15,000 freeroll. With 60 hours needed to qualify. 80+ hours gets you bonus chips, with 100+ hours getting you even more bonus chips.

Like the ones that Bally's used to run in AC.

Great fun, with lots of payouts and good money if you run deep.

I'll see you at the final table.

Ari,

Any chance of having a 1/2 PLO8 game? Maybe set it up like a pink game where it goes once a month or once a week. A PARX special game. I know the room needs no help to attract players. Just would like to see a game thats different from any other room on the east coast. Thanks for making PARX a great poker room.

Parx is awesome if you really want to play some great games in a well run room. End of story.
Completely agree. I can't get my arms around some of these complaints. Some are constructive and others.... well, not so much. I've played in every poker room from New England to West Virginia. There are some bad ones, but this place is first class. Sure, it's not touristy, but lets face it, once we get in the poker room, we're in the poker room and the lights outside are meaningless. IMO only two types of people can really say this is "not one of the best"

1. People that have never been in a poker room.

2. People who compete with or patronize poker rooms who compete with Parx and are afraid of losing to business.... which of course will happen

I talked to the shift manager tonight, they said as of 10:00am tomorrow (friday) we will be allowed to 'buy the button'. I'm very happy about the decision.

So this poses a question for the newbs, What does "buying the button" mean ? never heard of this one.

Missed big blind's usually have to wait for the button to pass to come in @ a charge of the sb plus the bb. They will get an option, but will not be in the button position when they come in. The button has betting position on the table. At Parx, "posting in" is standard. But, if you can "buy the button", you can post the BB and SB (which is dead) in the pot and "Buy the Button" from the sb. It will only affect missed blinds who come back after the BB passed, but before the sb and new players who come in on the SB. After they "buy the button", they will be the button on the next hand instead of the in the cut off position. They will be able to play one more hand and will have the best position for the price they would pay when they've missed the blinds or in the case of a new player, for an additional SB price.

Borgata has fantastic restaurants and an awesome selection. But you're gonna go to a fine dining restaurant and eat like a King, all while holding up the game for 90+ minutes. Are you really that guy?

No, it's not a comparison. The Borgata is a complete resort.

Parx is a local gambling hall. They've got plenty of land and big aspirations, but it's no Borgata right now. They MUST built a hotel, entertainment venue, another nightclub, spa and a few restaurants with a celebrity chef or two to be considered in the same category.

But it's a great young gambling hall.

Why would you ever leave an action table that you really like to go on an extended dinner?

Somewhat disappointed. Was expecting tournaments to get off the ground late Feb. early March as dealers and floorpersons had previously mentioned to me.

Yet, Ari has posted several times in this thread that tournaments were not "in the cards" that soon and he was looking beyond then, before being able to offer them.

So, your disappointment is unwarranted.

We just submitted for our first tournament to be a $50,000 freeroll tournament on May 17th, with regular tournaments starting the next day.

Qualify for the freeroll April 1st to April 30th.

60-79 hours 10k in chips
80-99 hours 12k in chips
100+ hours 15k in chips

We are really looking forward to getting to the next level. We plan on having a Wednesday 7pm and a Saturday 2pm (buy-ins yet to be determined).

Nice! I guess this means I should actually stop being too lazy to get a card. lol too bad I can't get retroactive hours. Missed out on so many free noodle bowls. I'm also glad I didn't mishear, and it is a 50K freeroll vs 15K. Should be fun.

Ari,

Best news I have heard in a long time ... Am I to assume that after the 17th there will be daily tournaments every day, not just Wednesdays and Saturdays ?

Any chance of tournaments with no antes like Harrah's and Showboat ?

Hardly.

If you actually look through Ari's previous posts in this thread for something in regards to tournaments, you'll see a 10th of January post:

Re: PARX Poker Thread

We are in the process of hiring dealers, once we do, tournaments should follow shortly. We are looking at Mar/Apr.

Thanks

Ari

And I stopped looking for more when I got back to Thanksgiving. After chatting with some dealers and floorpeople who seemed to point toward the end of Feb. early March, I figured there was more than anticipated progress and perhaps Ari just hadn't touched on things here recently.

I said I'm somewhat disappointed. I'm not crying a river.

So if anything was unwarranted....

Thanks for the update, Ari. If my records are accurate, I have about 25 hours logged in the room. I guess I need to get out more often before May, unless there will be a 2+2 member special where we only need 40 hours

The way I'm reading it.....you need 60+ hours in April.
