It's called professionalism. They are trained to do that, as it makes the room friendlier and more personal/customer based. The names appear on the Bravo screen set into the table, which is how the dealers know them.

Why would you find it annoying? I don't get it.

Lee, take a look at his post history. He loves to hate on Parx, yet he continues to play there. Go figure.

So it looks like there is almost always 1/2 and 2/5 NLHE running. 4/8 and 15/30 LHE followed by 5/10 NLHE:
http://www.taeyeonkim.com/parx/

No holdem games:

4/8 O8b starts ~ noon most days
PLO - Tuesdays and is the Friday game going to be "regular"
4/8 O/E - most Friday and Saturdays? It looks like the O/8b might morph into the O/E game
HOSE - has only run once or twice?

It seems like to get a new game going the best method seems to be to get 3-4 regulars to agree to meet to get the game started and that's sufficient to pull in others?

Stud has run before and so has 2/5 PLO I think but the site hasn't added it yet. Same with 10/25 NL.

I also have no problem with this.... Actually it helps me from refering to people as the "old guy", "internet douche", "nit", and the like in my head since they put a name to a face..

$1/2 PLO - we try to make tuesday night the main night since it works for most people. The $2/5 HA game will most likely run on friday nights with a min $500 max $2,000.

Just thought I'd pipe in as a "non-hater" with some comments:

I've been playing $15-30 once every week or two. So far I've found this to be a great room! The sign up board is quick. The dealers have been efficient and friendly. Sure there is some room for dealer improvement, but overall, they've been fine. The waitresses are gorgeous! The "high stakes" floor manager has been friendly

My only minor complaint is that they took time this past weekend when the game had only started up 5 minutes before the half hour. Normally they give you a free half hour of play. For whatever reason, they insisted on taking the time this week even though we only played at most 4-5 hands before the half hour. The floorman lectured us that the policy is you only get to play for free up until the first dealer change, regardless of whether you get 1 hand or 30 hands. Seems silly to me, especially when that hasn't been the case in the past. But, I can live with that for the convenience of the location.

Something else I wanted to mention - Awhile ago someone posted that the $15-30 players were miserable people. I couldn't disagree more with that statement! I've found the $15-30 players to be extremely friendly. Usually 4-5 of the players seem to know each other from playing together so often. They may recognize me since I'm there once a week or so, but no one really "knows" me. However, I've always been able to have friendly conversations with the players, discuss funny hands, and have a good time. Sure a losing player may mumble under his breath some bad words occasionally, but I've heard nothing directed at the dealers or other players. In my experience, these $15-30 players have been much friendlier then the players at the Borgata $20-40!

8/16 not running on a day that many had off is sad.
The handful of times I've played the 8/16, it has been great.

+1,000,001. Given the choice over an equal # of hands, I would much rather run good vs. the D'bag scum in the Borg 20 game than @Parx.

I would have to imagine that most people don't mind it much. I know that I don't. It creates a personable atmosphere at the table.

It is certainly your prerogative to be "anonymous" at the table while wearing your hoodie and sunglasses. Just ask the dealer kindly to refer to you by "Sir" or "Madam". I doubt any of them would mind nor would I doubt they'd get any less tips from you by doing so.

I headed over to the poker room last Thursday to check it out for the first time. Really, really nice IMO. Nice looking room, staff was chill, and the waitresses were smoking hot. I didnt sit down to play because it was my friends 21st birthday and he doesnt play poker, but I hope to sit down sometime this week. Some of the degens at the poker room and the regular casino crack me up though. I sat at the bar in the poker room for two minutes and come old sloppy guy came over to the bar. My friend asked him how he was doin and he brushed him off. "Good....WHERE IS THE GODDAMN WAITRESS??? HEEEYYYYYYYYYY I NEED ANOTHER BEER!" He yelled until she came over and gave him another and he stumbled back over to the table

This may very well be worth discussing. I believe "excessive railing" was part of the reason Taj put their glass up years ago.

Is there any chance of getting a 25-50 LHE game since 30-60 seems like it has trouble running? Also last time I was there I over heard the players talking about how upset the floor got after they heard a 20-40 game was spread. I enjoy playing any limit but I think Ari and Parx could do a number on the Borgata 20-40 and 40-80.

I don't think we should give up just yet on 15-30 and 30-60 long term. It's unrealistic to think 30-60 will go every day, but I think we could get a normal game going on either Friday or Saturday night to start.

Well, what works better for people interested in the 30-60 game? Anyone interested for this weekend...which day?

Surprising there's no LHE game tonight...especially after you advertise being there.

There has been a trend of players recently at the 2-5nl that have been trying to sit down with more than the table max buy in (I witnessed 3 players with in the span of 2 sessions try to sit in for 2-4k). I think we need to speak up when this happens. It bothers me that the majority of players don't think it's such a big deal when they buy in very deep. The people doing this know that it is wrong. It kinda gives it away when they try to hide the black chips behind the green chips. The dealers should also be observant enough to take notice and action.

The dealers need to be more vigilant on that and rogue table changes. I am a chronic table changer but at least I always ask the floor.

Absolutely. Parx is the only place on the East coast that spreads it, why would you forfeit your best differentiator. Same with 8-16.
These games may not go every day and people look at that as a real bummer because Borg runs the 20 every day. However, we must realize that Parx simply does not have the same Foot traffic as the Borg and won't ever... so regardless of the exact limit, it will be tough to get a game going all day every day. The fact that it (8, 15, 30) is a different game than its AC competitors HELPS Parx tremendously.
