It appears, from comments here that many are trying to make the game bigger... hence the 1/2... with a "5" something (force and/or BI)

Yes - it appears we are on the same wavelength then. Sitting 1/2 with a deuce is fine, 1/2/5 is not even close. I wouldn't sit in that game with less than a rack (and would prefer more).

Could we please have a nice sized Guarantee (20k-50k) for the inaugural tourney? Maybe spin it to a yearly thing,, then maybe a big televised....
<calm down Jonathan, calm down>....

A nice guarantee for the 1st tourney at Parx would be nice for now, and thank you

I'd be up for a 2/5 NLHE/PLO mix sometime. (5/5 would be better if we could do that) I might even try and organize such a thing
I am brand new to 2+2 and this is my first post. I go to Parx about twice - three times a week and play mainly 1-2 and 2-5 NLH, and sometimes 1-2PLO. I would absolutely LOVE and NLH / PLO mix...feel free to drop me a line if you guys are trying to get a game of that one night. I live about a half hour from Parx and if I'm free I'd surely go and play. thanks

Im sure this was probably ascked before in this thread, but I think I would have a hard time finding it in 194 pages. What are the drink prices while playing in the poker rooms? I heard that at one point someone got a bear and gave the waitress 7 dollars. Is it free now, or at least discounted to something reasonable?

Thanks in advance

-Branden

I meant beer not bear lol, sorry

Alcohol is not free. I might be screwing up the prices, but i think beers are $4, mixed drinks can be $7 or more. I don't know if they ever run specials.

You can live the "high life" for $1.50 for a draft

I was playing 40-80 last friday night at the borgata where I usually play on weekends. I like going late night when everyone is chasing and stuck. Some dealers were good but I had a lot that didnt even announce raise, rolling the deck, not saying thank you when getting tipped, unshaved, chewing gum like a cow, etc....the supervisors didnt even acknowledge any of this. They were all too busy at the podium talking and not observing their games. When I play the 15/30 game at Parx, I see the dealers get better and better. Anyone wanna step it up a notch and play 30/60 friday?? We played last week and the game was great!

when the dealer turns his (usually) left hand which is holding the deck stub so that the bottom of the deck becomes visible. It most often happens when the dealer is reaching to pull in bets from that side of the table.

The cut card is there, in part to prevent any players from getting a glimpse of the bottom card, but it's a sign of bad form / poor training from the dealer.

I'm less sensitive to most of the same complaints you have.

Things that bother me are less about shaving and gum chewing, and more to do with game flow. I look for fast dealers who "run the game" efficiently and with few errors. Keeping the game moving at a fast clip is an art; the rest is icing.

Many of the Parx dealers are still green in this regard.

Glad you have noticed and made reference to the Parx dealers getting better.

Perhaps we can get past all the complaining about the dealers. Here you have a 40-80 game at the east coasts poker mecca The Borgata where there are inexperienced if even outright bad dealers. And this is at a stake table larger than anything Parx runs.

I'm sure that Ari and company are always trying to hire new experienced dealers and will eventually thin out the weaker ones. After a mere 6 weeks of being in business, the dealers seem to be doing quite an adequate job.

Definitely looking to play the 30/60 game again, but I'll be at the Borg this Friday. We should try to pick a regular day...either Friday or Saturday, to get the 30/60 going regularly.

I feel like we can get players for that game simply by announcing it. Fri at 10 is a busy time slot anyway so having them announce a 2/5 NL/PLO mix would get a few bites.

Plugging it here obv also helps.

Tonight marks a week since I've played live and I'm dying....

I agree, once we get it going, even if we start short, if we bug them to announce the crap out of it I'm sure we'll get it full.

People won't know its a mixed game though unless its announced, there's no entry in the bravo for it.

Anyone planning on head up to parx during the snow day tomorrow, i would like to know. Last time it snowed pretty bad we had about 30-40 people, most playing 1-2 NL which is what i play. Also had 2 - 2-5nl tables going.

How about we start a 1/2 PLO/NLHE mix game late afternoon/early evening and then move it to 2/5 at 10pm?

Ari, if you get agreement by 4-5 regulars to show up and play, would you be willing to advertise this game a bit? Maybe put up a simple sign at the desk.... "PARX No Limit Holdem/Pot Limit Omaha now being offered" - or something to that effect?
