This point is just blatantly false...in general, most of the crowd interested in lhe, o8, and stud are older folks very far from 2p2 let alone the internet.

This wasn't my impression when I looked over at the composition of the 15/30 game in my one trip to parx. It is also not my experience playing recently in the 20/40 game at Borgata. I definitely think a higher % of players in that game are regular 2+2 visitors than the typical 2/5 game in AC. Now, O8 is a different story (everyone is 60+, game breaks at 4:30 every day for dinner).

(Slips into best cranky old man voice)

Now listen here sonny-jim, I was programming computers to cheat at cards before you were a gleam in your daddy's eye. OK, so it was black-jack and not poker, but still. Just because I prefer LHE and the occasional O8 or Stud-8 game (but not regular stud) doesn't mean that us old folks can't use these here new fangled PC's or read message boards. Not all of us have alzheimers - yet.

(wishing for a tongue in cheek icon)

I'm not trying to add fuel to the debate between NL and LHE. It's just that you have to realize that the internet was created by folks who are now middle aged or perhaps older. Not that I had anything to do with the internets creation - I'm just sayin that "old geezers" really do know how to use computers! Don't fall off you chair if you mumble "sup bro" and one of us old timers winks at you in a knowing way.

So, I've heard a lot about parking lot security issues.

Is there any reason for someone traveling via public transit to feel unsafe from the walk from the card room back to the bus stop? Is it as bad as many are making it out to be?

Not sure where the bus stop is. There is a bus stop right outside the poker room doors, but that may just be for the shuttle to the other building.

If not, just time your departure, so you don't have to wait any longer than you have to.

They need to improve security - for sure. But, it's not any scarier than walking down the boardwalk late at night. Except there are no Ho's

First of all if you learn to comprehend what you read you would understand that saying i, of all people would never brag about a win, let alone a 500 win. Second I don't care who does what or how many beats I take. So either play 30-60 or don't waste your time quoting my posts cause you're clueless.

1st of all..Could we please stop making this room sound like compton or even north or west philly? -EV for potential fish. The concern for adequate security is understandable. Making the lot sound like your taking your life in your hands is just counter productive. Not to mention bad for business. I know its nice and safe hiding behind your computer screens while playing online , but this is live poker. With it comes some down sides, one of which is the possibility of some douchebag loser trying steal your winnings.IMO, this should be worried about in private "underground" games alot more than a public casino.

You see, casinos have this thing called liability. Securing their business is,and has been, their #1 priority. Something happens, they get sued. Has there been any major issues since they opened the main building other than people leaving their kids in the car? Was there ever a major issue at the property in general (after all , it's been a gambling site long before the casino)? I know some1 posted a "get balls" response, and I thought that was a little harsh. With the continued whinning and paranoia, I'm not so sure. Lets move on from this scaredy-cat mentality please, your doing more harm then good. I'm sure Ari got the picture after the 1st 10 security whines..I mean posts..sorry.

As for people w/ electronic devices at the table, and for all the ADD/ADHD generation, poker is a game of patience !Take your meds, and if you can't deal w/ real poker, go home and multi-table online. Respect the others at the table and keep your phone in your pocket.Common courtesy in the real world IMO. The rule of not having electronic devices is to prevent slowing play of the game. It also is in effect to discourage collusion and cheat programs. This isn't computer world. Not saying every1 does it, but programs to make decisions and track play of others for you aren't aloud. Deal w/ it , and welcome to live poker. Don't worry, the real players won't take all your money..just enough to keep you coming back to the game. I promise!! As for music, I see no problem w/ that.

God I can't wait to become a regular at this room..

** Just a reminder.... this isn't just a 2+2 posters room ( who are a huge minority in the grand scheme of things btw ), just sayin'. No offense please, I certainly look forward to meeting you all. Maybe we could start a weekly 4some if any1 plays golf?

if someone plays well and is most likely a younger person(i guess there are plenty of 30 and 40 year old types as well) there is a fairly good chance. Doesn't matter, if someone is good, generally avoid them without a good read/spot. Doesn't hurt to simply ask though.

DING-ALINGA-LING!!
How would you feel if you were the kid at the Taj Mahal a couple weeks ago who got robbed of $5K going to the garage elevator by 3 dudes who followed him out of the casino? How about if you were this guy, and were beaten on the head and robbed of $10,000 in the Taj garage in early 2009? How would you feel if you were the 61-year old disabled veteran who was robbed of $7K in an elevator at the Trump Plaza? How would you feel if you were one of the casino players at the Tropicana who had their chips stolen by the same scumbag who had just robbed the 61-year old veteran? How would you feel if you were the grandson of the 80-year old couple who got robbed in the casino elevator of Caesars? The relative of the floorman at the Taj who was shot and killed by a deranged degenerate? How would you feel if you were the son of the man who was killed in a knife fight dozens of feet away from the Taj Poker Room?

I don't think anyone who is familiar with how dangerous Atlantic City casinos are would think that any posters here are "whining" or worrying too much. If anything, we are completely justified to worry about the poorly lit walk between the Parx Poker Room and Casino with no security presence. After all, you have patrons at well- established casinos getting robbed INSIDE the actual casino on the way to their rooms, for crying out loud.

This is our money, our safety, and most importantly, OUR LIVES we are looking out for. Asking people to stop "whining" about security is unreasonable and way out of line, in my not so humble opinion.

You say casinos have liability and look out for their customers. Then why do people keep getting robbed at the Taj? Why hasn't the Taj implemeted significant additional security since the murders and robberies over the past several years? It's because they're cheap and they don't always have their customer's best interests at heart (especially when the customers best interests hurts their bottom line economically), despite whatever liability they may have or may be afraid of incurring.

Either way, it's absolutely ridiculous for you to imply that just because a casino that has been open for a few months and hasn't had a serious robbery, that there won't be a first serious robbery. As careless as you seem to be, you could be the first guy who is beaten and robbed. Especially if Parx doesn't do something about their inadequate security and lighting between the Poker Room and the main Casino.

Furthermore, you are contradictory in your thinking. In one paragraph, you tell people to stop whining and worrying about security. In essence, you're saying, "Don't worry so much about getting robbed. It's bad business for the room to create fear." Then in the following paragraph, you agree with banning cell phones because they could be used for collusion or cheating. In essence, you're saying, "We should worry about getting cheated/robbed in the poker game. It's not bad business for the room and its players to have this fear." Not only do I disagree with your thinking about requests for security in general, but it's tough to take what you say seriously when you have such an inconsistency in your attitude, however minor it may be.

I don't mean to be argumentative with you, but I can't stress enough how important our safety should be. Regardless of how you feel, my own safety is priority #1 for me, and I will make sure to request every possible measure be taken by the casino to ensure it. All I ask is that you respect my desire and the reasonable desires of the many other posters here who share my position.

Sir just stay home and play poker on FTP. It's so much safer. Seriously you could even trip on the stairs on your way to casino. Just stay home.

Just think, you would have won 1800 if it was 30-60. I guess that means next time you see FM on the list for 30-60 and up you will join and play HU or short.

Couple suggestions if you scared to walk the parking lot:

1) Get your weight up

3) Get security escort.
4) Play during the day
5) See a doctor about your paranoia
6) DONT GO..if it's that bad. JUST DON'T MAKE IT SOUND LIKE IT'S DETRIMENTAL TO DO SO.

That's where I play. But guess what, when I play at the Borgata, there's no sketchy walk between the casino and the poker room. That, and Parx is not the Borgata.

You've missed the main point of what I was saying. We're not wrong to ask for more security given how many thugs and criminals frequent casinos.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but the 8/16 HE game is raked 5% instead of 10% (the max is still $5). I thought this was a good touch, but you have to watch the dealers or they take too much as every other game in the room is 10%.
