Just curious as to what the chip structure is on the 8/16 LHE

2 chip / 4 chip with $4 chips or 4 chip / 8 chip with $2 chips? Thx.

Story from Parx.

Guy sits down by accident at 2/5 table (with like 70 bucks or so). Dealer players don't notice, so he is dealt a hand -AA. There is a raise to 25, reraise to 75, the guy folds his AA. Said he was afraid to lose all his money in one hand with 2 raises in front of him.

Quickie trip report: I arrived around 9:30 Wednesday am. The PLO game had just broken up. There were a few 1/2 NL games going, I'm not sure if anything else was.

I joined one of those games. Shortly after, a 2/5 NL game was started, as well as a table or two of 4/8 LHE.

Around 1:00 the 4/8 Omaha hi/low game got going. I played in that for a couple of hours, and almost made back what I'ld lost in the 1/2 game.

2 interesting hands:

The first was actually from Monday. I had A Q J 6 in my hand. The K showed up on the flop, and the 10 showed up on the turn. I had to muck a royal flush, because I had 3 in my hand, 2 on the board - backwards from what I needed. There's a first for everything....

The second was from Wednesday. I had K Q 9 6 in my hand. The flop came down J 10 8

I flopped the nuts, and realized that EVERY SINGLE CARD IN THE DECK was bad for me!! Yikes! Never had this happen in Hold 'em......

I ended up chopping the pot with someone who made a low, and felt fortunate not to have quartered the top as well! Funny game, this Omaha. But I do love it.

Kudo's again to all the floor people and dealers. They are doing a terrific job.

Looking for advice: Last time I was playing 15/30 at Parx I witnessed something I've never seen before. I was playing with someone I've played with there two times before. The first time he dropped a bit of money and couldn't really get anything going. The second time he went on a tear and basically hit and ran the table for a bunch...OK, not the nicest thing in the world, but whatcha gonna do.

This time, he starts building up chips, and I'm already getting emotionally prepared for the hit and run. But this time, I see him go up to the cage and cash out a stack of red. Then he comes back...and a bit later goes to the cage again, again cashing out a stack of red. I also notice that his stack looks a bit smaller, and he hasn't lost any pots. A THIRD time he goes up to the cage and cashes out a stack. I really couldn't believe my eyes. OK i've had enough! I say something to him like "come on, what are you doing, that ain't cool". He acts all surprised and says "Oh, I was getting up". So by mentioning something I basically get to him to get up from the table, completing his hit and run.

[BTW, the second time I played with him we noticed and complained about him repeatedly getting up from the table and walking around. Who knows, but maybe he was taking chips off the table then too.]

What I'm wondering is...what should I do here? I assume going south like this is against Parx's rules. Should I report him to the floor next time I am there? Should I report him if I see him doing it again? Thoughts?

Report him to the floor. He can take everything off the table and leave anytime he wants, otherwise he has to leave everything on the table until hes done playing.

This is all OT and will probably get deleted, but my business (and my competition too, at least the ones I've asked) has been great this year, best since 2006/7 before tshtf.

+1 on this. Not essential, just one of those real "nice to haves". Get a $75 a month business cable/fios line so you don't have to put us on the standard casino network.

I love this idea. However, the dealers have told me twice to put away my smartphone. (But they're mainly from first-dealers.)

Absolutely report him to the floor. They can check the cameras for proof, and then take appropriate action. He either picks up everything and leaves the table - which he is clearly entitled to do - or everything stays in play. One or the other.

There was a huge 'stink' about it yesterday at one of the tables. One of the players was using an ipod (or something close), to play tetris between hands. Players were accusing the player of 'looking up stats', and communicating with friends on hands, obviously having no idea what they were talking about.

Floor said not to use the ipod, but how is it different than listening to music?

Small sample size I know, but When have the 8/16 LHE typically started up on Weekend Daytime?

Trying to make a quick trip to check it out...

Yet, the other night we had someone at our table talking on the phone for several hands in a row (in which they were dealt in for). The dealer did/said nothing.

Most rooms have a "no device use while seated" rule. I appreciate that. If you want to use your device, stand up & step away from the table. If that is the policy at Parx - I, for one, applaud it. And, let's enforce it uniformly.

Are our attention spans really that limited that we cannot bear to not constantly interact with panes of glass, every 30 seconds?!?!?!

I just hope i can use my phone to browse the internet without being told to put it away. I have never been told this at borgata but at some of the lesser ac poker rooms. I also do not slow the action at all. Ari, please improve security.

Borgata here I come! The 15 game breaks at midnight with six players playing! All the **** talkers on here rambling about how you all know we have to keep short games running for the good of the game and blah blah blah. So far no 30-60, no short sustainable games, nothing! How the hell does opening more tables matter if the game can't go past 12? Unreal, only two guys I've met have been up to the call to get the games going and building rootts.

Side note: watch the antics of the Jamaican comedy traveling act who try and signal each other by placing their Parx card on their playing cards and tapping the Parx card depending on what their hole cards are. Very amusing.

I don't see why use of the phone (other than to make calls) is a problem as long as you're not in the hand. If you're in the hand and you're slowing down the action and/or using the phone to engage in cheating, different story.

I don't think phone calls should be permitted at the table, whether you're in the hand or not, just because having to listen to one end of a phone conversation is really annoying.

I generally don't see it as a big problem other than above. I'd prefer device use to not be allowed while seated, but it's not a show-stopper for me. I like playing in rooms where that is the rule. At the Borg, I've been in games where 5-6 players are surfing and/or texting - it does slow the game down.

I'm not sure what the "rule" is at Parx, though.
