This might kill lower limit action. I would think 2-4, 4-8, 8-16, 15-30, 30-60 would be the most profitable from a players perspective while creating action for the poker room. Of course higher games can be spread at the players request whatever the limits are. HORSE or some other mix limit game would also be a nice change of pace from NLHE and LHE. PLO is a nice game too.
Hi Frankie,

That is the direction we are going in, I am confident that it will be successful. 2/3 chip blind structures tend to be a much better game. I hope the players welcome our direction.

Thanks

Ari

Ari can you tell me if there is any chance you can get the max buy in for the nl games 200 big blinds. A 2 5 nl 1k max buy in would be amazing.

If they can get a regular 15-30 going that would be fantastic...this is less than 30 minutes from me. 20-40 at Borgata has been pretty crappy the last couple times I have played.

Is it Nov. 1st yet?

Glad to hear that you are putting a lot of effort into getting this right the first time around.

I could see myself making the drive out east, if this comes to pass.

Have a vacation set for 11/2 through 11/9. I hope they don't delay this opening!

Edit: Are we gonna have a 2+2 get together the first couple days?

I know this is beating a dead horse but I really hope there's no cigarette smoke wafting into the poker room. Smoke literally gives me headaches. I've read that the main casino is punishing in this regard. That is, the smoke burns your eyes, and the "non-smoking" sections are so close to the smoking areas that with the poor ventilation, it's not much better than the rest of the casino. As bad as Harrah's Chester is, at least smoke isn't a problem. The smokers go outside not far from the poker room to smoke.

As of now the building that will house the poker room is smoke free.

Thanks, excellent to hear. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm counting down the days to November 1st. Finally I can go to a poker room after work on a weeknight, and never have to make a "special trip" to play poker on the weekends again.

You're assuming that there won't be a 3 hour wait for a seat...I'm assuming.

Yeah that's true. But after the first couple weeks that should die down. I'll just avoid going there on Friday nights, and make sure to get there early in the afternoon on a Saturday. Plus they plan to add tables in the coming months, after they add the requisite slot machines.

Yeah, the smoke is disgusting in there. I too hope the poker room is non-smoking.

Does anyone know if players will be able to earn comp dollars for hours played?

I'll be playing 3-5 days a week now that a room will be less than 30 minutes from my house.

Question compilation for Ari:

Comp rates
Room Location in which building
Non Smoking
Number of Tables
Still on for November 1st

I think we have clearly beaten the game selection horse off the track and into the ground at this point

Obviously any information is devoured, so whatever you can give us is appreciated.

Thanks for your time!

You guys dont feel that making a 2\5 game 1k max will not gut your higher stakes action Or intimidate any recreational players from playing 2\5

Wouldnt a clearly defined middle step of a 5\5 game 200-1000 be a better intermediary step than risking both regular action at 2\5 and 5\10

Great news Ari. Glad to see the date is the same and hopefully if it changes, it's sooner than later. I can't wait any longer.
