4/8, 8/16, 15/30, 30/60 ala Venetian/Bellagio are good limit structures.
I'm guessing that they'll spread 2/4 as the lowest limit.

I'm curious to see what stud/omaha limits they might spread.
Personally, I'd like to see something different as opposed to what the AC rooms spread now.

7CS - 3/6 no ante, 4/8 $1 ante, 8/16 $1 ante.
If just one stud game is spread - 2-10 no ante (no 1-5 please).
O8 - 4/8 half kill, 8/16 or 10/20 half kill.

That is going to be very similar to the games we will spread. In the west coast those $2 and $3 chip games (8-16 or 9-18) do very well.

4-15 options would be a nice change a pace from "crap 10/20 has a list, let me feed rake @3/6 in the meantime". Looking forward to it.

cmurl904 - A no ante stud game? What drives the action, aside from the bring in? Or is that really enough? I'm just thinking that a no ante game would play really, really, tight.

Ari - Congrats on getting official status to post here!

The Buzz is very strong on Parx. Im hearing 40 tables in Oct. and growing to 100 by the summer? I would love for someone to verify this.I was talking to guy at Harrahs last night that was sure that they were starting with 75 tables.Eitherway we as players we be right in the middle of an all out war for our $. This is good for us.

The amount of tables is not 100% ironed out yet, once I know all the details 2p2 will be one of the first to know. I hope your aces hold up!

Lee, you're right - no ante stud games are generally tight as a drum.
However... I think I read somewhere that coins don't play in PA casinos.
So, that knocks out the .25 & .50 antes for the lowest limits.
You're basically left with either 1-5 (lame), or a structured game (2/4 or 3/6). If coins are allowed in play, than 1-5 or 2/4 .50 ante would be good.

If Parx is only gonna spread one stud game, 2-10 spread is a much better option than 1-5, even with no ante.

I'd really like to see a 4/8 $1 ante game, and possibly an 8/16 game also.

Cool. Does that mean the games are going to suck though?

what's the most likely stakes for plo/nl games? at some of the other casinos like chester and delaware the biggest nl game i've seen on their sites was 2-5nl not sure what plo was. would be awesome if parx had a 5-10nl and 5-10 plo, make this happen.

Ari,

Glad to see you post here on 2+2. I just heard your podcast on House of Cards that aired on 6/28/10, great interview. Like many of the posters on this thread, I also live very close to Parx and have great interest in making it the premier poker room on the East Coast.

If you have any flexibility in the number of poker tables, the more the better. I have been to both Harrah's Chester and Sands in Bethlehem, the poker rooms have been extremely busy. Sand's (12 tables) and Harrah's (25 tables) poker tables have been all running with large wait lists everytime that I have been to those establishments. The demand for poker in PA is so high that it will be able to fill a huge amount of tables at Parx. The 35/40 tables mentioned is great but if there is any flexibility on increasing the amount of tables, please do so.

Looking forward to opening day and meeting you.

Doubtful. All the guys who played in underground clubs up in Pocono are downright atrocious.

If Parx spreads any stud games <20/40 & omaha <10/20, I'll probably never play at Taj again.

Ari and PARX Poker Room Designers:
Please note the opportunity to contrast your room from the Harrahs Chester room, as you establish the premier poker venue in PA and potentially in the Mid-Atlantic states. At Harrah's, for example, the room is designed clearly with a revenue per square inch mentality... tables are nearly on top of each other... players chairs are routinely bounced by staff and floor, and players alike. The 2nd floor, where the room sits tucked in the corner, looks like an airport terminal waiting to be furnished with vendor stands and departure gates. Yet, the powers that be decided that their 25 tables should not occupy more than the slightest of space... leaving room for Rosetta Stone, Packup Printers, a Faux Watch retailer, and a Preztel stand. All the while, oversized dealers and floor wedge their way between these tight tables, and players nudge each other to sit or step away. I know that PARX will not be so shortsighted as to create such an uncomfortable players space.

And, another note per your design plans... DE Park did a nice job of creating space in their room, for players comfort and a classy environment. However, they too have made some awkward choices. Their tables include a foot rail perfect for shin injury... the hard rail running the edge makes for chip spillage... and no cup holders creates opportunity for crowding and confusion for squaring players. Finally, their chairs are not suitably adjustable to their table heights... leaving the room looking nice, but the table seating less than optimal.
After playing AC, LV, KY, IN, PA, FL, DE, etc... I must admit that the Borgata still gets the A++ rating for creating a poker environment that is suitable for a long session, and a first class experience. It remains my favorite room, based on design and comfort... as well as the quality of the dealers and staff.
I want PARX to blow all others away... as it has the opportunity to be such a destination. And, if it is, it will be the first choice of so many, who appreciate being pursued with class and comfort.

I have not yet visited PARX Casino, nor have I been to the track in many years. Is the room set to be in the track, as so many have stated? And, are their dining options that are significant, or is the casino mired with Aramark style counter food?

Food options are limited. plus they suck. outside of casino in the surrounding neighborhoods there are some better options. nothing great though.
