Ah not too bad a rake then
Sounds a well run place, good there is at least somewhere to play in a city as big as Paris!

Here is my Paris update on Cercle Clichy Casino.
Opens after 1:30pm. Line. You need to pay 50e to become member.
Bring valid passport. Nothing else works.

I saw at least 25 tables dedicated to cash game. Maybe more.
12NL, 24NL, 5-10NL maybe higher too. Maybe more. Active PLO board too.
No limit on buyin. Just minimums. Lots of guys there, many understand English. They use and understand poker terms in English and dealers were helpful.

Very bingo type players or aggressive. Good ones too. But some don't play pot odds, they play Luck!

Saw a Moroccan dude call all-ins at least 15 times with any two cards.
Kept rebuying or sucking out.
I remember hands he won Calling All-in with ****.
His Q3 beat pocket Jacks
His A5 off suit beat KK
His 56 suited beat AA.
He won a few, but lost about 1000 e. He cracked my Aces!!

Played Senior WSOP. The locals all had a lot of "moves" . Nobody really waiting for cards. If everyone checks, guy in position bets!
Chip leader called or bet preflop 15/18 times and raised flop with pot size bet and didn't have to show his cards....crazy. That's why he is chip leader.

Other guys would jam with any two cards when getting below 20bb and first one in.
A guy got really pissed that he was called by AJ when he shoved with 63 offsuit?
Coincidentally my AJ and they held!

Water and drinks cost money. Seats are uncomfortable. Easy access at metro stop Palace de Clichy of blue line M2.

PNC Paribus ATM across street ate my Bank of America debit card because I didn't take it within 10 seconds when asked to.....I wasn't paying attention, clearly.

Casino has other games like 21 poker and Chinese games. Very full. Extra room in back for poker tournaments so add another 18 tables...crowded too.

Security Guards were kind of dicks - but Paris is different. They have to buzz you in for security purposes. I watch them man handle a drunk outside on street just walking buy....I think it was a daily occurrence....

As far as the board goes, you automatically que yourself at kiosk with membership card. Very efficient and cool.

You can't bring in outside water, soda, or food. But they sell everything inside at inflated price. There are several restaurants right outside including Mickey Ds. They use Kiosks now too, no cash- how come 🇺🇸 is so far behind?

And of course, every where you walk outside the people watching is off the charts. Love the way girls/woman wear nylons and skirts ( and heels, of course).

I will add/remind that if you play the "high stakes" games in the back room, drinks and most food are free (or very cheap, like good beef bourguignon for 10 e) -- and service is very good, at least when I was there. Also, women don't have to pay the 50 e to enter

The self sign up is great, but you can be on the list for only two games at a time.

Also, the bathroom sucks in the front room -- especially for women. The back room is much better.

Headed to Paris in July. Really don't want to pay a 50E fee to become a member. Is Cercle Clichy still the only place to play?

Are there any other casino(s) accessible via train/metro within a few hours?

Thanks! I've actually never left the US and don't speak French so any other tips/dos/donts would be appreciated either here or DM if off topic.

New Clubs are about to open this year, one already openend in rue Marboeuf (central location) but does not offer poker yet, only table games.

As of July 2018, you may be able to find one or two extra places to play poker.

Will keep you posted.

Hey guys,

I'm from Europe but have been to the US a lot in the past to grind out some cash game. I'm looking for something in (preferably) Europe where it's possible to put in some volume daily and where the traffic is decent. I mainly play 2/5, 5/10 nl and 5/5 plo. Is Paris a good place to go to? I wasn't really able to see on the Cercle homepage which games they spread and what's usually running. Rake is pretty bad there? Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks.

We were there in October and Cercle Clichy had just been shut down. Something about money laundering, I think. The bartenders were still there, so we had a glass of wine then headed to Paris Elysee Club and the wait was too long. Went back the next night and stood in line -- tried to get a spot on the phone, but it seems as if they save that for regulars. Waited an hour or two and finally got on a PLO table. Fun table, fancy place, not great players. Much prefer Cercle Clichy, though, and hope it opens back up before our next trip. Players were more fun, dealers were a blast, and food and drink were free! Very unlike Elysee where everything was very expensive (free non-alcoholic though).

Also played in Cassis.

There is a post today saying opening is postponed, but it doesn't say until when.

Opening postponed. Nobody knows when this place is going to open.
The mayor of Paris' 13th district does not want this club to open for some BS reasons (crime, prostitution...).

THNL : Texas Holdem No Limit

Blackjack is dealt from continuous shuffle machine, don't even think of back counting cards
