Hi again Fazz,
I went to Cercle Cadet yesterday and ask them if they have partnership with Hotels around .... and the good news is that they have two agreements:
- Hotel Montholon (Tripadvisor, Home Page, Google Maps). Use password "Cercle Cadet" during reservation and you'll pay 70 euros / night instead of 120.
- Residence Cosy's Cadet (Trip advisor, Home page, Google maps is not necessary, it's 10 meters from the club !!!). Use password "cercle cadet" and you'll pay 160 € instead of 300 € per night. It's a residence, then you'll have a real appartment with kitchen etc ...

Hope this help.

Let me know if you come to Paris, we can have a drink !!! hipppsssss

Hi Marc,

the dealer who you're talking about doesn't seems to be well informed. The state agreement for Cercel Cadet as just been renewed for 2 years.

We can still enjoy live game in a well and fair place in Paris.

Yup, just heard that. Great news (my initial post dates back to earlier this year).

Furthermore, the Clichy Montmartre Cercle re-opened its poker tables a few months back, so all seems well for the live poker scene in Paris!

How much is the rake on live mtt?

What kind of adjustements one should make to his game to deal with €150 fee and then €24 an hour on 2/5 or what ever game they have. I am so use to Nitting it up as a grinder at 1/2 and 2/5 here in US where the rake isn't really an issue and obviously no hourly or entrance fee.

I will be in paris from 24th dec 12 to 1st jan 13... thinking about playing 3-4 session of 8-10 hours each

much higher rake yet much looser games. you have to put out more money and play higher than you are used to.

Thanks for the input Ray.

TheHit, if you want to avoid the 150EUR fee (which is the standard fee at Aviation Club de France - ACF for short), you should play at the Cercle Cadet. I think you can get in for a 30EUR or maybe 50EUR fee, dont remember. Remeber the entrance fee grants you entrance only between the 1st of January and the 31st of December of a given year. If you intend to play say on the 30th of Dec and on the 1st of January, that's 2 entrance fees.

FYI Cadet runs 2/4 everyday from 2pm to 8am. That game is racked everyhand. Forgot the %, but its capped etc. Best rake in France (still high vs the US though). Tips are waaay less frequent btw.

The 5/5 game (which in effect is more like a 5/10 game 'cause of stradles with a combination of short and deep stacks) usually starts later at night and is raked 30EUR hourly.

However if you want to play higher stakes, than 2/4, ACF is the place to be. Cant help you much more as I havnt played there in 2 years and I'm waiting january 1st to pay the fee. I want to say there's a 5/5 always running (could be wrong), and there is also some omaha 4 and 5card action going on.

The 30 euros cotisation is offered by the "Cercle Clichy Montmartre" (métro 13 "Place de Clichy") until the end of the year.

There were 3 2/4€ opened yesterday, 4 tables of 1/2€ and a dealer choice 2/4€) + the daily tournament.

I think the "Cercle Cadet" (métro Cadet) may have the cotisation for free until the end of the year.

Have a nice trip

I understand that it's on the outskirts, but what about Enghien les Bains? How easy is it to get to and how are the games?

The problem is that the rake is 4% uncapped in the French casinos. In the a cercle, which is an association, the rake is lower. For exemple, at Cercle Clichy Montmartre the rake is capped at 14€ at 1/2 and 24€ at 2/4 (more than 4% for the first 100 € (like 6 to 8€) but after 2€ per hundred until the cap).

The traffic is also more important at the Cercles (ACF, Clichy, Cadet).

Clichy have a "rakeback" of 1 to 1,5 €/Hr with their fidelity point system.

Would be really interested in this trip report, I'm thinking about going over there to grind the cash games for 5 days in February.

I don't know about fees for tournaments because i don't play them but i can confirm that the action is pretty decent.

Every day they have a 100 € buy in and that attracts between 50 to 100 players.

I don't know if i am going to write a complete report or not but i will tell you this though

If you are thinking about going for a cash game grind, go for it. The players are sooo bad that just playing a LAG style will make you decent profits. Sooo passive, you can't imagine.

They just sit down with 25 to 50 BB stack for hours and keep limp folding everything. I have been there 4 times now (4 days in a row) and its just heaven for any cash game grinder.

Yesterday, i raised 7 hands in a row (HUGE raises, to steal the limps & straddles) and didn't get called once. SO MUCH FUN

Hi, I think you can't avoid to pay the registration fee.

It's 150€ at Aviation Club de France and only 50 € at Cercle Cadet.

Good luck

Cercle Clichy ( metro "place de clichy") is the cheapest 30€.

Yesterday at 11pm, there were 4 tables of 2/4€ and 4 of 1/2€ + the daily tournament.

On a tuesday, it will be more like 3 of 1/2 and 2 of 2/4.

Bon séjour !
