I like AC as well. Wouldn't say the O/8 is juicy. But it's not tough either and most of the non-super senior citizen regs are pretty friendly. Don't waste your time or money w any of their LHE games. It's really all about NLH. 1/3 is soft and pretty goofy to say the least. There's usually a at least a couple pretty good players in 2/5 but as long your comfortable playing somewhat deep I've found it to be the best game they offer. I mostly give them props for offering a number of different games at players request. I've seen them offer 5/10 NL, 10/20 NL (with a min buy in of 3k) and even a heads up 10/20 Omaha game pop up. I got nothin on the tourneys tho, except for the one on thurs pm gets a pretty solid turn-out.
I will be in Palm Springs for a 4-day golfing trip with college buddies in early December. Will there be any 5/10 NL games going at Morongo or Agua Caliente on THU-SAT? Or will it be 2/5 NL at best with maybe a random 5/5 PLO game going?
I really don't want to play 2/5 NL or PLO, but I might be tempted to go play some poker if there will be some 5/10 NL running in Palm Springs next month.
Thanks in advance to any Palm Springs regs who can answer this question.
spotlight has NL tournies everyday mon-sat $35 buy in and also have a $80 tourney friday or saturday night i like it cause it has a gurantee and also its a small field usually 3-4 tables. if you play cash morongo has new poker room its smaller than aqua min buy in for 1/3 no limit is $100, they have 3/6 limit going all the time and sometimes they have omaha
Trying to get a feel for the live scene in palm springs area, might be re locating soon. Best cash game place 1/3-2/5 and best nightly/weekly tournies? Do they at least get 1/3 games every night of the week?

you mean NL 1-3 and 2-5? they take $1 before the cards are dealt and then $4 if the pot goes over 20 I believe. And they may have recently added another $1. For the 5-10 PLO/PLO8 it's $7 every down.
You're from Seattle, right? PM me if you want to grab a drink and play some poker.
I was actually thinking about the 6-12 O/8 game. The 5-10 PLO/8 is big enough where it doesn't matter too much. Either way I'm sure I'll make out there a couple times so I'll let you know. Thanks for response!
I don't play poker as often as I'd like, but when I do A.C is my fav place to play for some reason, kinda like that casino and the poker room. I live in Redlands and have closer options but the 45 minute drive is worth it. I'll definitely bump this thread or shoot out a PM to one of you fellow 2p2ers for a possible meet up for some drinks and cards. I'm glad to have this particular regional thread going in some capacity at least...keep it up.
I know this thread is a solid 4 years old, but wanted to add some to it seeing as how I played both Morongo and AC recently. AC was full of older regulars as stated above. They were all pretty nitty and very rarely did more than 2 or 3 people limp in. It was exploitable in the sense that if you raised preflop, you would usually get 1 or 2 callers. Firing a C-bet on the flop worked almost every time unless they hit a piece of it.
Overall, though, it wasn't a great place to play. Way too nitty, no table chatter, etc. Morongo, on the other hand, was great. The players were awful and all had endless wallets. One guy was frequently going all in blind, others were pushing with nothing better than Q10 suited. Great action, awful players, and a lot of fun. Definitely recommend it over AC.
