I'm going to be in florida in a week or so and was planning on stopping by for a few hours and playing here [this is relatively close to where i'm staying, hollywood is an hour+ drive] but is the rake really that large? No flop = rake? Sounds like its not even worth really playing unless the guys on here are just exaggerating it. [I'm talking about 1/2 and maybe some 2/5]

Also, for the locals, what else is there to do in the area besides beachbeachbeach?

Check out Jimmy Sommerfeld's post about how there may be a WSOP Circuit event coming to the Palm Beach Kennel Club from February. 17th to March 1st. First reputable poker tournament to come to Florida. I am stocked!

I applied for a job as a dealer/chip runner/brush about a month ago and had an interview with Nicole three weeks ago. I want to work from anytime from 4:00 pm -3:00 am during the week and all day weekends I'm available... I recently graduated from the Casino Dealers Academy in Hollywood, FL... I don't want to get terribly off subject, but don't you work at the Isle? It is my understanding that you are a dealer at that facility.

We, like you I'm sure, want to provide the best poker game we can in this new and growing environment. I, like you also, feel free to address any question posed to which I have useful insights or information, regardless of the heading on the thread. We don't see the need to discriminate. We feel our cardroom is the best in the state, and are comfortable that poker players support that opinion. That said, we are always open to improvement. Any comment anyone makes, either directed toward us, or in response to a question is welcome and greatly appreciated.

Each event comes with a very nice trophy for the winner, along with first place prize $ which of course is always nice Event #1 had approximately 200 players with first getting around $5000. Event 2 will be Tuesday's six handed event with $120 buy-in. Every event awards player of the year points to the top 10% of the field. This years POY will receive a $5000 cash prize.

I was very glad to see the great turnout yesterday! I am looking forward to doing better today than I did yesterday!

I plan on being down this way the middle of September. My question is, what nights, if any, do 5-10 and ideally 10-25 go off? I plan on a Thursday thru Sunday trip and haven't spent much time in the area

The 5-10 Starts each day at 11am and runs all night, with multiple games on the weekends.

The 10-25 runs Friday and Saturday from 6pm till about 5am. Tons of action.

He may be a dealer at the Isle, but I am not. I play in your room every day, but only because it's only a 30 minute drive from my house. I don't want to drive the other 45 minutes to the Isle. I say hello to you almost every day Josh, and you should think you have the best the room or you shouldn't be there. Be that as it may, his comment was spot on and probably not much different than Noah's comments

Yes, I will be there, and a couple of friends that play the HOSE tournaments at the Mardi Gras. Starting chips (I do not know) the rounds are 25 minutes long. Last year they had around 110 players.
