Except that they rake $2 even when there's no flop. And I mean, EVERY hand. Ive seen a hand where there was a dead small blind. It folded all the way to the BB and they raked $2 out of the the BBs $5 blind.

thought this just happened to me as a casual mistake. This has happened to me about 12 times over the years, and it mostly only happens when the cashier does not openly say the amount they are paying, they count the chips - count the cash - and never announce the amount they counted - then I correct them.

Every time they announce the amount they counted and pay me - it is correct...

hmm - this is not an isolated incident - seems to be a pattern.

so is this just the cashier doing this independently - or - is it corporate sponsored behavior?

either intentional, or just a mistake because they dont say the amount and lose track of it in their mind.

in any case if they dont say the amount beware. or just ask them how much as they reach for the money.

Dog racing, particularly wagering on dogs in Florida races, is banned starting Jan. 2021. Expect racing to cease before Dec. 31, 2020

The pending demolition is why almost no serious $$ is being reinvested into the current facility.

Again, that is rumor only, as far as I know. I'm not excusing anyone for anything.
Most all the dog tracks are remodeling/rebuilding, as greyhound racing will be illegal in the state after next year.

How many tables does this place usually run? It seems to be one of the bigger rooms in the country not on Bravo or PokerAtlas. To make it easier, let's say I am asking how many tables there are on a random Wednesday and Friday in December or January at noon, 6pm, and midnight, since I don't know when I might visit or when I would play. Would also be interested in what days non-NLHE games run. PLO, O8, LHE, mixed games. Doesn't matter if it's small. I just want something different for fun.

Wednesday like most weekdays we'll have between 20-25 games, while Friday and Saturday 30-35 games is the norm. We're coming in to our season which gives us a 10-20% bump to our already listed averages. We have regular PLO games, but will list and run whatever game we have demand for. There is a regular 1-3 stud game every Friday as well.
You'll see criticism of the look of our room, but even some of those voices praise our dealers and the action here as among the best in the state. Along with being poker room managers, we're also players. Poker is our product, and we care about doing a good job.
Come in and check us out. And say hello when you do!
Thanks,
TTJ

Been playing more at the Kennel club, as the rumors are true, the private game was served with a search warrant. It scared a few regular players, so the games do not run as frequently, but since no arrests were made, and nothing was seized, since there was no cash was found, and nothing illegal was occurring, just friends playing cards. Adhering to the law is the upmost concern to the players. The officers were invited to join the games, but they declined. One officer jokingly said he plays on Thursday nights, and this was not a Thursday night. They were offered food and snacks, naturally they declined. It actually made some of the players feel more secure and safe, knowing that law enforcement was onsite and near by.

Anyway, me and Skinny Pete from the 2-5 game are playing 1-2 at the kennel club waiting for a 2-5 game to start, oh - how we miss the 1-2 action.

funny hand took place, Skinny Pete in the SB, the table has 6 limpers pre flop, Skinny Pete looks down and sees Pocket Jacks, he raises to 15 - everyone folds, except the Button. Flop is Rainbow - with 10 high, Pete bets 45, button calls, Turn is another low card - Pete leads and bets again, 100, button calls, River a King, Pete Checks - button Checks, Button show AKos, cant get more action than that at 1-2. Player (the button) calls his way to 5th street, finally hits his hand , then checks...wow - i decided to stay at 1-2 when the 2-5 table opened, most profitable decision of the day, anyway - 2.5 hours later - I am up 620 at 1-2, Skinny Pete (who is a better player) is up 165 at 2-5.

Thats how you maximize profits. The only down side - is suffering through the conversations between players who are regulars at the table.

See you next time, and kill the lights on your way out.

Got talked into going to play the big game in the back of the first room - table 40.

took a little bit of time for everyone to get get chips - but away it went.

Crazy Keith was running bad - he was felted twice - each time he had to go back to his box and get chips. After his second felting - he yelled F***, F***, F***, because he got rivered, pretty painfully, then he proclaimed how bad his opponent was because he called 500 on a flop where he needed runner - runner to win.

On Crazy Keiths third trip back from the cage - he brought his entire box with him, I don't mean the contents, he actually brought the box.

How they let him walk away with it from the cage - I don't know - laughter insured for about 2 minutes as we could not believe it. He is sitting right there - at the table - with his box and all.

a few of us left a little bit later to head to the private game off site. As for the private game - it had three tables running when we arrived, going strong after the incident - all posts related to the private game will be started its own thread from now on - that will keep it separated from the kennel club info.

cheers....

In town on vacation and looking to play tonight. I play mainly 2-5 Nlhe or 1-2 and 2-5 Plo. What are the buy-ins for these games? Will Plo be running on a Friday night? Thanks for the advice.

I’m coming in tomorrow and looking for the same info. In town for a week. Looking to play every night, is that a option here during the week?

2/5 is $200-$500
1/2 has max buy in of $200. I think min is $60.

Ive never seen PLO run. Maybe it does sometimes but Ive never seen it (other than a private PLO8 game)

5/10 (300max) runs similarly to the 2/5 (500max) game. Day and night. The 2/5 games have had more short stacks over the past month than the 5/10 which is designed for short buy ins. When I say short I mean horribly short. I was in a game last week with literally 4 stacks of less than 100 at 2/5. Games have gone downhill over the past year in a big way. You can still catch a few action players who will juice up the table but game selection, unlike previously at the kennel club, is crucial or you will fall asleep with the other 200 stacks around you.

OK, thanks, I was confused then because I thought it was 300 cap rather than 300 max - 300 cap meaning you never get more than 300 in on one hand regardless of your stack --- similar to those 6-handed cap game tables that Full Tilt has online.

I pretty much only play during the daytime but I haven't seen any huge change with lots of short stacks here lately.

As far as the short stack 5/10 goes, its just a game that you have to experience because its hard to explain. The variance is insane but its actually a very profitable game if you can adjust properly. Obviously the strategy is much different than a standard 100BB+ game. You wont find any actual good 5/10 level players in the game and if players stay long enough to start having multiple players getting deep then get ready for some fun with guys who couldnt beat a 1/2 game playing 80-100+BBs deep in a 5-10 game.
