What's the deal with the ad in Ante Up magazine for the Deepstack series in May? The dates don't match up correctly with the days of the week. For instance, the ad lists a HORSE tourney for Wednesday, May 17. But May 17 is on Thursday. The entire schedule doesn't match up.

Which is it? Are the dates correct or the days of the week correct?

Would you guys consider having a 2/4 or 4/8 limit Omaha 8 game similar to the one at Isles? I would much rather play at the Kennel Club. http://pompano-park.isleofcapricasin...ino-poker.aspx

Does anyone know how much (about) the top prizes are for the 10K and 5K guarantee tourneys? Also, how is the turnout for them?

Not all games are constantly going. If an Omaha list is long, you should be able to put your name down when you are on your way in. Or, if the game is about to break, and you put your name down, the players may continue playing if they know someone is on the way.

You serious? I responded because I know the answer to your question. There is no need for call ins. There are so may games going that it is pointless. So maybe 20 people a day show up for Omaha, if they have to wait, to bad. Get over it.

Ah so in other words since you play a different game you feel that its ok for others to wait.

Typical selfish attitude of a poker player. I am sure if it was the roles were reversed you would feel otherwise.

We are now playing a 1-2 pot limit omaha 8 (high Low) game at the kennel club. Open your wallet and joint us. It's fun, and the rake, jackpot, and tip can be overcome with a nice scoop!

That's not true at all. It's just that they have a room running with 20 hold 'em games and you expect them to change stuff when they sometimes barely get 1 omaha game? Really?

I've played that one a few time. It was fun. There's this young couple that kills every time I'm there! I once bought in for $150 and left with $780 in 2 hours! It is fun. I was just thinking that a limit game would bring in more people.

I've heard PBKC runs a short buy 5/10 NL. Is this true? And how often does the game get going? Thanks

I never asked them to change anything just to be fair to all the customers equally. Its not really fair when I go to play a game and I have to sit around for a couple hours waiting for a game to start. We had it numerous times where we had enough players on the list to start it but they didn't want to take players away from those 20+ games of holdem you speak of.

All in all taking callins isn't exactly a difficult thing to do. If the game is running and on the brink of going down because people don't see names on the list it doesn't make sense to have the game die. What is the difference in that situation if someone gives their name in person or over the phone. If someone has to wait for hours to get into a game its not gonna matter how they gave the name they aren't going to wait.

The ideal thing to do is learn who wants to play the omaha game, get their name and number, and set up a time when everyone should show up via a mass text or something like that. No waiting, game fires right up, and the game usually runs longer because you have dedicated people who want to play.

Anyone care to answer this question? Which is correct, the dates or the day of the week?

If that is your attitude toward an Omaha game, that's fine. I hope the PBKC does not side with you.

My point is that any half way decent poker room wants as many games as possible, and will do whatever it can to keep ANY game going. Rake is rake. It is also good for a room to have a variety of games such as Omaha and stud because it will bring more players in. The only reason I play at Palm Beach is the Omaha game and if they loose it, they loose a customer. And I am sure they will loose many other players if that game goes down. They will likely go to the Isle instead.

There have been days I have sat there and waited over 2 hours to get in to the one Omaha game. So allowing a phone in would be a courtesy in that spot.

There have been days I arrived just after the game broke. Allowing a phone in will have probably have made the players stay in the game longer and the game would have survived. It's always between day and swing shift that the game gets short handed and sometimes breaks. If the game makes it to night shift, it always fills up and becomes a great game.

(PBKC rep) Can we please please phone in?

This is why the game starts everyday at 11AM. We need to keep it going as these people get up and leave. Sometimes if you don't get in right when it starts, you will wait hours. As I mentioned, when the game gets short between day and swing shift, it would help to know someone on the list is on the way.

One constructive feedback....I and a lot of other O8 players are SO disappointed you haven't been having 08 events in your series. 2011 Circuit event had over 190 players! This year, nothing. And your next event in may, nothing. We really would love this - and it drags us out to play your cash tables and other tourney events (like a holdem event). Would really love having this back and we have proved good attendence.
I agree! I am actually an Omaha player when I play. I think the participation that we've seen this year (which far exceeds the interest in years past) will make a difference in our scheduling going forward this year. Much of what we've got planned thru May is set in stone, so to speak... We will review the plans for after May to see if we can accomodate our Omaha players, and I'll make sure to mention it as much as I can.

Thanks,
TTJ

Pandor,

If there is anything you wish to discuss in person our doors are always open. I don't like to get into a lot of back and forth on the more critical points of our business on internet message boards. My forthright impression that our staff responds quickly to the needs of the business and the satisfaction of the players comes from my personal involvement with their training, and personal interest that they manage their responsibilities properly. If you feel that I am incorrect in my impression, please stop by and we can discuss it.

Thanks,
TTJ

ProtekYoNuts is right. The dates are all off by one day. The descriptions for each day is correct, but the dates are advanced by 1 day. Friday 5-11-2012 starts the event, and it ends on Sunday 5-20-12. As it is listed now it says Friday is the 12th.

Sorry for the confusion. We'll try to correct these communications today and link the correct schedule.

Thanks,
TTJ

Ok, I see your point, but I've never thought of it being that big of an issue. It's pretty easy to just call in and see if a game is going.

Not trying to be mean here, but just wanted to let you know that it is "lose", not "loose".
