We'll call it the Kitchen Sink! Let's make it Rush, Multi-Entry, KO, Super Turbo, Matrix, 6-max, and an FTOPs event

But no seriously my vote would be:

Saturday at 5:30pm
$120 6-max NLHE
30 min blinds if there is a rake
20 min blinds if there is no rake

8000 starting chips
$10 dealer addon

25/50
50/100
75/150
100/200
100/200/25a
150/300/25a
200/400/50a
250/500/75a
Break - Race off Green
300/600/100a
400/800/100a
500/1000/100a
600/1200/200a
800/1600/200a
1000/2000/300a
1200/2400/400a
1500/3000/400a
Break and race off 100s
2000/4000/500a
2500/5000/500a
3000/6000/1000a
4000/8000/1000a

That's a real tournament structure

Possible other gimmicks could include:

"Show one card" - any pot that's won uncontested, the dealer chooses one of the two cards and flips it over. Makes for fun sweats tryin to figure out what they had and adds some fun needling.

Mixed games are pretty "meh" because honestly the limit games are kind of boring. Razz and Stud are really boring but PLO, Stud 8, and Omaha 8 aren't that bad. Limit holdem just isn't as exciting as NLHE.

If you want to run a HA mtt (PLO and NLHE mix) then just use the above structure with 15 minute levels and repeat each level twice: once per game. For example play 25/50 holdem and then 25/50 PLO. 50/100 holdem then 50/100 PLO.

Any tourney that has PLO in it needs lots of extra starting chips in it and needs to be 6-max. Full table PLO sucks because it isn't fun when 40/52 cards are out and in people's hands.

I wouldn't mind playing a heads up tourney either if we wanted to get a bracket going.

Thank,

I am available any Saturday.

They will not approve unless they like the details of the event (lesson learned from the Isle 2p2 meetup last year). My hunch is that if Josh/Noah are as flexible and willing to host as it sounds, that won't be a problem.

I'm fine with a $100 buy-in. Would love to play a mixed game tourney. Bounties and perhaps a 72 rule? I think Noah and Josh should set the date and time (it's their room, after all). I'm going to have a hard time making it starting in late July but whatever works for the majority of people on here is what should go down.
I've just contacted our thread's mod to make sure we don't step on any toes. Should know more soon.

Thanks,
TTJ

*edit also, we're waiting for this feedback to see about starting another thread as well...

That's supposed to be the spot. I pass by it all the time. I believe they own it. Maybe. Not sure.

Last I heard that Wal Mart spot is a no go. Then I heard a spot by Glades and Tpk was a no go. Then a spot on Fdl Hwy in North Boca. Anybody that works at PBKC have any inside info for us?

i am debating between florida and vegas to make my nest move to.. i was leaning heavy to vegas but the more i look into it i feel like florida is a better choice. i have been checking out apartments in the west palm area and was wondering if anyone from the area could give me any suggestions as to where the best but affordale places are to live..close to the water is a plus and also closest to the best action which i am guessing is here PBKC, since it is the largest.. thanks

Not sure what you want to allocate towards living expenses or what size place you need but Boca and Jupiter/Palm Beach Gardens are areas to consider.

Finding a good place to live down here took me a while. I suggest you take a week to visit, bring your laptop, and do your research. PM me if you have any specific questions and I will try to help.

the 1/2 and 2/5 are that bad? I mean i saw they take a lil more rake but from what i have read the players r terrible.. i mean i know most players are terrible but i just have heard alot that florida is the place to play these days
, And pyramid yes i should have elaborated but im lookin from the 1000 to 1300 area for an apartment or a house to rent.. seen some that looked nice on craigslist im just suspect.. maybe its cause im from NY and u dont get much for the money around here, so im figuring theres gotta be a catch to some of these places..I have to say i do need to take a trip down there to play and look around...never been to flo for poker..just looking for a warm year round climate where there are as many poker rooms as possible.. seems like its florida or vegas but since im a east coast guy florida is a lil ahead of vegas right now..thanks for the responses

There's no one answer to your question about how good or bad the players are because there's such a range.

I like to play at the Tampa Hard Rock, and occasionally make it down to South Florida where I'll play at Palm Beach or the Isle, usually. Mostly 1-2, 1-3 (that's at the Hard Rock) and 2-5.

On any given night I can see just flat out horrific play -- you know, people limping utg and then flat calling a 5 x BB raise with napkins, people floating with overcards and then not betting them when they hit one ... that kind of thing. Poker that is just gross to watch. (And I'll make money if I play well, get cards, and figure out who you can't bluff).

The next night you can play at a table that's full of strong, internet-based players, who understand and utilize position and chip stacks, can size a bet, and are fairly accurate in spotting weakness.

I can say the same exact thing about Vegas and California.

The point: Anyone who tells you that the play in Florida is "this way" or "that way" either doesn't understand the difference or hasn't played enough down here to see the difference. All I can tell you is that there are plenty of places to play and if you are in Tampa or the Lauderdale-Miami area you won't hurt for a game.

Yes but other cities like Vegas have much better 1/2 and 2/5 games because here all the donkeys min buy and he rake is high

Trust me,

The 1-2 Games in FL are second to none. Also, in Palm Beach, there is no shortage of player funds.

Take care,

Noah
