Serious question/statement: I don't see how their 1/2 is beatable adter the rake. I mean they take $2 no flop, and $4 when the pot reaches $20 if I'm not mistaken. Any thoughts on the rake?

This isnt the internet bro, Your winrate at these games should be much higher then online. Very beatable game since the players pay off just way too light.

They take the 2 auto, 1 more at 25, 1 more at 35 and the 5th and final at 45. 10% of the (rounded off) pot

I have never played 1/2 or 2/5 here, but if I had my choice I would just short-stack 2/5. While yes, the rake does seem high, the other posters are correct, your winrate will be enough to not even worry about the rake. From what I understand the 2/5 game does not have the $2 button thing.

How will the WSOPC tokens work? I know they are $500 each, but if using for a $345 buy-in...are they going to give $155 cash as change?

I've played both. The $1/$2 game there can play reasonably high, with multiple stacks close to $500, or it can be a nitfest. Often a combination. Obv, Friday night and Saturday the $1/$2 games tend to be juicier than mid week. This time of year, though, my guess is you get good action pretty much every day.

Come to think of it, I've never attempted a table change there if you find yourself at the nit table. My guess is that they would accommodate you.

The $2/$5 I have found to play like $2/$5 everywhere. Mostly solid players, a few young guys feeling reckless who sometimes chip up with wild play only to donk it all off in a couple of orbits. Key, of course, is to catch them on the back side of that swing !

When I was there for the FL Million day 2 trny, they took $3 at $10 pot.... it was absurd imo

I only played for about 2 hours at 1 table, but it was full of $100 buy-in players limping down to 40 and trying to double up and or min rebuy. Also, max buy is $200 and only 1 other person besides me took this option while I was there.

I am hoping this phenomenon, combined with the general decline in popularity of the game, especially for brand new players, causes some competition amongst the rooms by lowering the rake. Would make sense to say it doesn't kick in until $20 in the pot in those $1-2 games and brackets up from there. Would eliminate the drain on the table for raise-and-take it situations pre.

if they are taking 3 at 10 dollars then you must be including the bad beat.

I doubt the rooms get into a rake war with other rooms.

And the WSOPC tokens are $100 dollar increments, and I am not sure what they are going to do with change from 345 buyins.

Stop crying about rake and realize your paying for a service, obv you dont own a business. If you cant beat the overflow of bad players then you wont beat any rake out there.

I'm new in town. I plan on popping in tonight to play for a few hours. Is there typically a wait around dinner time on weeknights? What is the play like at 1/2? Any bits of wisdom from the seasoned vets of this room? Thanks in advance.

Play 2/5. 1/2 has a higher rake structure. Make sure to introduce yourself to Noah (manager) if he's there.

FWIW I'm almost $38/hour since NLHE began at the Kennel Club, that vast majority of those hours played under the $100 max buy-in. The games are very beatable. Plus, I had a piece of last week's bad beat jackpot which makes me lucky too. I <heart> PBKC.

Jason,

The WSOP Tokens can be use for the Buy-ins only. Not the entry fee.

So for example, if you were to play a $300+$45 event, if you presented a $500 token, you would receive $200 tokens back and would pay the $45 house fee in cash.

Please give us a call if you have any further questions.

Take care,

Noah

Should have know then we shouldn't play there. However that's not the worst of it. While playing in a live game I left the table to go check on my wife during a break in the Tournament. I was gone 22 minutes. When I returned they had removed my chips from the table where I was playing. Shocked I asked the Floor what was going on and was informed if you were gone from the table " 20 minutes " , they pick up your chips and you lose your seat. Now I have played poker all over the world and I have never heard of such. I asked him to show me where it said that in the posted house rules and he could not. It was not there. He said "that's just our rule " but could not tell me how I was suppose to know that if noone tells you and it's not posted. Very poorly run room with hidden rules. Beware if you every play in Florida and avoid this room at all costs. Much much nicer room at Pompano Beach 20-30 minutes down the road.
Waaahhhhhhhhhhhhh.......did the poor little baby get his chips picked up?
