Noah,

I want to thank you again for your hospitalaty. I would encourage anyone who either lives in the area or travel to play to include your room as one to stop in to. I like the fact that you separate the tournament and cash rooms, there was a great selection of games when I was there (which will make or break any room), the fact you had a dedicated brush for the 5-10+, and the majority of dealers seemed competent.

If I could add any suggestions they would be no flop no drop and limiting the amount of rabbit hunting and running it twice. I had these two Asian guys who liked to get into a three and four bet pattern then when they were heads up would run the board twice. While this reeks of colusion I'm not the type to say anything.

I will be back down in two weekends, I believe I will be playing Saturday night in your room. PM me if you have any questions or would like to schedule a meeting.

Thank you again

First, let me say that I am a FAN of the PBKC.....they are a diamond in the rough when it comes to poker, and I will continue to play there, when the playing is "right".

I think the PBKC has a great room, but I have also been aware of the shennanigans. There are several players who should not be allowed to play there as they disrupt, play little "games", and basically make it less worth my time, especially in the bigger games....it has gotten to the point that I walk in, see who is in the "pit" and just keep going when I see who the players are.

Then I drive over to the Isles, where I never have had any issues!

I must disagree with your assessment of the dealers however....many need to go...especially the ones they plop into the tournaments.....sometimes its EXCRUCIATING!

When a table gets stuck with the same weak dealer for 2 hours or more, it becomes almost unbearable, and mistakes occur constantly.

I also notice that the attitude of the PBKC is lax, to a handful of players who are completely disrespectful of ANY rules of discipline......maybe a clear message should be sent to some, by not allowing them to play for a month or 2.......people are beginning to "talk" about this problem.

Just because a player is someones "pal", should not be a reason for allowing unacceptable behavior.

Poker is an emotional game, but disrespect, and havoc, should not be tolerated, period!

I completely disagree w/ the above post. Not letting us talk smack and play our "little games" will totally ruin the kennel club! We don't go there for the high-class lifestyle, we're there to shoot the **** and have a fun gambling experience. Take away the pbkc's "lax" management style and you turn the place into something it never was and never was expected of it. I say let this guy play at the Isle and leave the dog track to us dogs!

you need to keep the games fun. the kind of player that wants the game to be quiet and go according to strict rules is the bad apple in gambling. once the fun is gone so is the game.

If by "fun" you consider the berating of others, and furniture tossing, and card throwing antics, as well as making life miserable for employees, FUN, then you have the perfect place to play your cash games.

enjoy.

I assure you that we do not tolerate any behavior that is offensive in nature. Please let us know if this is observed.

Each and every dealer deals tournaments, in equal amounts. You have the exact same opportunity to get "stuck" with our best dealer as you do to have a dealer that you particularly dislike

When a table gets stuck with the same weak dealer for 2 hours or more, it becomes almost unbearable, and mistakes occur constantly.

There are many players who have been excluded for a month or longer. We are not shy about this. However, we do believe that players have bad days and deserve another chance if they agree to abide by the rules.

Just because a player is someones "pal", should not be a reason for allowing unacceptable behavior.

Every player that comes into the room is to be treated as a "pal". That is by my direction.

Poker is an emotional game, but disrespect, and havoc, should not be tolerated, period!

I agree fully.

Take care,

Noah

I like to think of the management style as "Friendly. Not Overbearing. Professional."

We intentionally do not have any employees in management positions that have huge ego's to fill and want to be the boss. The players are the boss. We are here just to organize and assist the players.

The room is the players room. We are here to serve the players.

Take care,

Noah

That is the most optimal approach you can have-in just about any business for that matter. I have been to many places, especially in Florida, where the exact opposite approach in employed. Customer retention and new business growth are not nearly as strong as they could be.

When scouring the forums I see Wil from Mardi Gras and Noah and his crew from Palm Beach consistently offering needs based solutions to their players. That is why I make road trips 3.5 hours away to play.

I agree. I haven't been playing in "brick and mortar" cardrooms very long, but the mood of the room seems to be far more relaxed. And I mean, I have way less players going out of their way to be a **** to me, even though I am to them at times lol.

Noah, firstly, I do not "dislike" any dealers....some are better than others, and the fact is that MOST of the time, especially in the smaller, mid week tournaments, the dealers have not been pushed often, and when the tournament runs 4-5 hours, a weak dealer will make mistakes, slow the game down, and limit the number of hands played per orbit....making a fast tournament structure even more of a bingo match.

I am not sure that you understood what I meant by "pals"......however some patrons play more than others, and therefore are more profitable to the establishment.

They tend to "cozy" up to the management, and a few of them display regularly, dispicable behavior....yet they are back the next day....it happens over and over and over.

As for your policy of a friendly management style...I do see that....with Joe, the tournament director......as well as Josh.....the others, simply do not have their skills.

It does NOT mean that they go out of their way to be rude to the patrons, so please do not misunderstand, and its nearly impossible for most folks to even remember who the many patrons are....yet the several that I mentioned, have the knack, and you are lucky to have them. They give the PBKC a significant edge over the competition.

When I see some of the "clowns" change their behavior, at that point, I will know that you have taken steps to enforce a more appealing environment. ( I am not talking about patrons who have a bad day, as you put it)

I would like to make this clear however.....the cash games (mainly bigger stakes) have the bigger issues than the tournments, and perhaps that comes with the game anyway.

As I stated before, I am a big fan of the PBKC, and I will continue to be a loyal patron.....as long as it suits my needs.

I would like to thank Noah, Joe, and Louie for holding the HORSE tournament on Thursday, (9/23). Five tables was a great start and it can only grow from there. I hope to do better next month, Thursday (10/21) for the next HORSE tournament. Great job by all!

Hi 33 Big, Depending on the speed of play the "Big Dog" has the potentinal to end in 1 day. It is possible to go 2 days however. The July Big Dog did conclude in one day. The structure is player friendly as you know but we did get the July Big Dog completed around 1am.

Cards go in the air this Saturday at 12 noon for this months Big Dog.

All the best, Joe

Hi Ausales, Thanks you. I am glad you enjoyed the PBKC H.O.R.S.E tournament last week.
I think you will enjoy our next event even more on Oct 21st. It will be the same poker friendly structure and will also include a $5,000 guarantee.
Hope to see you there.

I really liked the high limit area. I play a lot at the tampa rock and the tables are crunched together and their is no high limit section.

The dealers were very professional and efficient. The action was great with 3 very deep 5/10 games runnin along with a list. They dedicate one brush to the area which made it very streamlined and kept the seats filled quickly.

What was also very nice was the number of police officers and security right near the games. The parking lot was well lit and they had a patrol working the area.

Looking forward I definitely see myself taking more trips to the room from the gulf coast. I was very pleased with the 500-2500 structure and the play was soft. I max bought and didn't see any shortstackers . Cashed out for 6570 in 4 hours of play.
thx for posting this, you just answered my next question, think palm beach is my next destination

just got back from my first florida poker exp:
1) isle...i was shocked quality of this room, action is good, decor, drinks, room service, dealers, staff.... 5 STAR
2)magic city..... room quality is like 2 stars, however action sick... my biggest issue is max buy in of 1k for 5/10, they need to change that asap..25/50 NL was totally sick, not sure if this is regular game, i would prefer this game over anything at Isle and action is more important than card room quality IMO

It feel through last minute. Not sure what all the problems were, but Harrah's was hesistant about holding an event at a Dog Track.
If that is the truth than it is a real bummer, bc World Poker Tour already has Hard Rock locked up and the rest of our card rooms are either Dog Tracks or Horse Tracks.

That's OK- They are going to be hosting The Florida Million and the prizepool will be bigger than almost every single wsop circuit main event less Hammond. And the buy in will be under 1/3 of the circuit main. First place will be over 500 times your buy in. Good luck finding that value from a $1600 circuit main or any wsop circuit preliminary for that matter.

Is this poker room 18+??? If so, does anybody know how far it is from Boca West? I am 18 and will be visiting the area over Thanksgiving and was wondering if I was allowed to play.

Hi Ausales, this coming Thursday Oct 21st is our next HORSE event. It comes with a $5,000 guarantee this month so I hope you will enjoy even more than last time and go deeper for a piece of the guaranteed prize pool. Stop by and introduce yourself next time you are at the PBKC. See you soon.
