How do you get a tier point? CET is a lot more transparent, at least telling you how much coin-in on a slot or vp machine gets a tier credit.

They just upgraded and relaunched the BConnected loyalty club program this week. I was getting $1.25 an hour too but I’m not sure if that is still true or not.

They sent me a link to my new account and I'm still Ruby. With a long way to go to make the next tier. I get no comps until I get there, which I doubt I ever will.

As a tourist I don't want to play there for no comps when every other poker room gives me comps. If I were a local, I would still hate it because there would be no tourists at the table. I know Boyd's wants to sent people to Hawaii and whatnot, but hanging out the "Tourists not welcome" sign is exactly what every gigantic and successful casino in Vegas DOES NOT do.

Most poker players have just the base level card, I didn't think you could even get upgraded by just playing poker. I can't imagine they will stop giving comps for poker.

The poker comps have always been a totally different category than the slot comps, just like they are at MGM rooms. Most likely these changes are just for slot comps.

I’ve heard that everything is combined now into one account, to a point a poker player other day went into a video poker game and saw uh look $60 in slot play, when it was actually all of his $60 in comps he had from poker. So poker comps CAN be downloaded as slot play

So basically at the base card level of Ruby, you don't earn any comps for any play? Do you generate any tier points for time at the poker table?
Where did this quote come from? Is there something official you guys are reading? It doesn't say this in the linked newspaper article.

I’m still Ruby and barely have any tier points. And it’s obvious the few tier points I have are from the times I played video poker. In other words, still zero tier points for poker.

They didn’t send a link to my new account yet but I still looked at my info on the website.

Has anyone with Ruby actually played in the room, checked and confirmed they get zero comps now?

Boyds has been sending out emails about this program change for weeks.

Just look on the Bconnected benefits page. The Ruby tier shows no comps for play.

I played poker there a couple weeks ago, and picked up "points", but no tier credits. I didn't try to cash in any points, so I still don't know if I can get anything comped while at the Ruby level.

Has anyone figured out what the earn rate is on tier credits? Like how much coin-in on slots or vp gets you 1 tier credit?

Last night I read its $5 for 1 credit on slots. And vp depends on what you are playing. The lower house edge, the more money in. Again, that's just what I read last night because I am staying at Gold Coast starting Friday and was wondering myself.

Wonder if that's because Ruby is getting 2x points right now, or that's what the base rate is.

750 points used to equal $1.25. Does this mean poker players comps are less than $1 an hour now? I was still getting 750 an hour when I was there this week.

I’m assuming we don’t need Sapphire to get 40% off for food.

That is the same exchange rate it has always been. It's 600 points per dollar at restaurants the casino owns, which at Orleans I believe is all the sit down restaurants plus Subway. It's 1000 points per dollar at the other food court restaurants, gift shops, slot credit.

So it's 1.25 per hour if you use your comps in the first category, 75 cents per hour if you use it in the second. I don't think anything about the poker comps has changed except that you can now use them for slot credit.

Has anyone that's still Ruby in the new system used any comps? It's still not clear if they can. I'm only Ruby and a long way from Sapphire.

On that chart it has a row reading "dining discounts when paying with points", and every color is listed, including Ruby. That certainly implies Ruby holders can spend points.

I haven't actually tried to use any of my points since the change, but I put my card in a slot machine and they were available to download had I wanted to. I also asked a poker room manager, and he said the comps should be working the same way they always have.

How often does $2/$5 NLHE or anything higher run at the Orleans?

Very rare. I only remember noticing it once or twice out of over a hundred times going there.

I also noticed on Bravo they never, ever spread PLO, not even low limit, like 1-2 PLO, even with all the Omaha that's played in that room. The only thing is the PLO tourney they have. Anyone know why???

Isn't it mostly young players who like PLO? Orleans is older reg room. I don't think there is much overlap at all between people who like O8 and people who like PLO.

I went to Orleans tonight and used my points earned from poker at the Asian restaurant.

I also got the B Connected app which confirms I'm still Ruby (introductory) level.

So intro card holders can definitely still spend points.

QED
