Filthy chips, filthy table rails, felt, carpet and the filthiest stinking bathroom I have seen yet in a Vegas casino... Are the people running this place completely blind?

When did poker players become such whiny, germ-phobic little bitches? Let me get this straight, you live in LV, with more poker options than pretty much any place on earth and you go to the Orleans and then complain about the bathrooms.....

I used to play in a game locally that had NO BATHROOM! There was a room that used to have a toilet and there was a hole in the floor but that was it. Stop being so entitled.

There's plenty of poker players in Las Vegas who appreciate not having to wade through old sticky urine and God knows what else to go to the bathroom. There's even mold growing in the corners and on the fixtures. On the other hand, there's those who are oblivious to it. The Orleans tends to filter out the former, which explains a lot about their unique player base. Sounds like you'd fit right in.

So what you're saying is you don't care if a bathroom is dirty or not.

I just got back from a few day stay at The Orleans. Since these trips are mainly for mom I only played poker a bit. I lOVE the poker room! It's always got games going and it has juuuuuussssssst the right amount of sleaze. It's fun to have a place like that, imo.

Also, The Orleans is spending a lot of money upgrading. New Chinese/Sushi rest where the Mexican place was, probably something new going into the old spot and they have taken a REAL flyer w/ a beautiful steakhouse (wasn't willing to spend the money) that charges nearly Morton's prices. I was told that an entire upgrade is on the way which will prob cause problems for the mid-price Courtyard Cafe since it's so popular. Hopefully it will be done by my next visit.

I like the wacky little promotions. They aren't crap, like at TI that rewards mega-nittiness. They're mostly high-hand or bad beat, which encourages risk-taking to make big hands. Of course, I may be biased after flopping that steel wheel that paid me $150.

But yeah, ALWAYS has games running when some of the small strip places are dead.

Actually, I'm sad about that. I liked that Mexican place. I also like that Irish pub they closed down. There wasn't a better place to watch a game - there must have been 30 big tv's in there.

We've been 'Orleans ppl' since we moved out here and never ate in the Mexican place. Have never eaten in the Prime Rib loft either which I was told has been fixed up as well. The Irish pub was very nice but I'm not much of a drinker and didn't even notice it was closed.

If you mean limit hi lo Omaha 8-or-better, yes. They take $2 out of every pot for jackpots and promotions in all the games so there's always a lot of promos. They regularly spread 4/8 and 8/16 limit hi lo Omaha 8-or-better.

This is Las Vegas, you have to be specific. Yes, they regularly spread 4/8 Omaha high only. Call to ask about promotions. If you're talking about PLO, they don't spread it but it's in lots of other rooms.

I didn't ask if they spread it. Specifically I wanted to know if they have hi promotions where you play a certain amount of hours each week and also some type of hourly tournament or bonus, if your one of the top hour earners like they do now. I think they always usually have one but it'd really be worth it to me to move if they usually have the both of them going. Thanks.

How are we supposed to know what kind of Omaha you're asking about? I assumed 8-or-better because that's what they're known for. I suggest you call the floor if you're asking about 4/8 high, that doesn't go all the time and they rarely have 2 games. I think they're paying 1.5x the regular hourly rate, but nobody is going to make a living off a 4/8 game in Vegas.

Not much of a drinker either, but loved watching the playoffs and NCAA tournament in there.

I thought they only took out one promo dollar from the Omaha hi-lo pots. Can anyone confirm? I know they take out $2 in the holdem, but I think they have more promos for holdem.

Uh-oh, I said after you said the same thing before, hi only but thank you for responding because I agree no one would know... so I'm not sure what your problem is. If I could count on them to consistently run two promotions for hi, for a few months, like they are doing now, than it'd be worth it to me. I also called but they couldn't say.

I've played there many times. The bathrooms are average in terms of cleanliness and design, just like the property itself. Have I ever left a good poker game because the bathroom was not clean? No, no i haven't.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but OP comes off as one of those Yelp reviewers South Park dedicated an episode to.
