Grunching. From a quick whirl through Bravo it looks like Orleans is the main (only?) place for limit in LV these days?

My son got a last minute work trip there next week and should have time for an evening session next Tuesday. He is probably looking at 4/8. No more poker bankroll for him now with a 3 year old and a newborn (subtle grandpa brag . )

Hes staying at hard rock but ride share looks like $10 and 10 minutes.

Gracias, grandpa DS

Yes certainly closest place to Hard Rock where he’ll find low and lower middle limit limit games. 4-8 LHE and LO8 run almost constantly.

Taxi/Uber between Orleans and MGM was between $10-15 in the spring. Couple bucks more for Hard Rock I’d expect.

Orleans has a free shuttle that picks up near the High Roller ticket office.

Bellagio also has 4/8 usually. Mirage has 3/6 sometimes, Flamingo has 2/4 sometimes.

When I was there in spring the Bellagio and Mirage games didn’t run. Flamingo 2-4 was consistent but I think there was some kind of promotion.

The free shuttle is nice if you are at or can easily get to center strip.

When I was there in September, both the Flamingo 2/4 and Mirage 3/6 were running, didn't check Bellagio.

Do you earn tier credits to play poker? If so, how many?

Orleans running most hours contest/promo month of October...10000 1st , 7500 second , 5000 third...just a guess but I'm thinking 500 + hours it will take to win...saw it on bravo earlier in the month .....should be quite a fiasco with many playing for days on end to finish the race

Heading to Vegas next week and looking to play some limit games (both hold'em and O8). Are the omaha games better than the hold'em games in terms of action? It looks like on bravo they generally get more omaha games (haven't seen more than one 8/16 hold'em game running, where as there's always two to three 8/16 LO8 games). Are all the hold'em promos they're running a way to boost action for the 8/16 hold'em games? Or is it just that the Orleans is primarily an O8 house at the 8/16 (and up) level? Thanks!

Also, interested in playing that 8-game mix tourney while I'm there. Does it typically get a lot of runners?

I did a vp experiment to see what it takes to earn a tier credit. Seems like it takes about $100 coin-in to get 6 tc, according to my math.

I'm a relative noob to trying to grind status ,but plan to try on my next trip out, instead of just getting points in the poker room. Does the $100 coin-in mean placing $100 worth of bets? Or am I missing some other factor?
Any idea what kind of return one would get from playing pit games? Say, 3-card poker or Caribbean Stud at $10/bet, $25/bet, etc.
Thanks for any direction you can provide me.

I'm heading to the Orleans next week, Sunday thru Wednesday, and plan on playing in the HORSE and other non holdem tournaments. How many entries to they usually get for these?

I don't play NLH, but their other tourneys are designed not to go on all night.
About 3 hours of room to play, then it quickly gets fast.

Four of us chopped, so it could have taken a lot longer if we had to play it down to a single winner.

No poker rates.
But might have a free room offer or two you could use!

when I registered for the march freerolls today the TD said something about extra chips if you do more than the base 100 hrs in jan/feb, but when I asked for more details he couldn't find any info in his computer or on any promo sheets.

Does anyone know if you get any extra chips for more hours played over the min qualify ammt?
