According to their website it ran Tuesdays and Fridays in Feb and March. It started as early as 12:30pm or occasionally as late as 4pm. It seems it only ran for 4-6 hours some days.

I highly doubt there is more than 1-2 regs that post on 2+2 that would call SKC their home room. I was a reg there for 5+ years (since uncapped buyins) and have given updates on the place in the past.

Kballin's story, although old, is lol. Not only is it standard play, but is not a bad beat. That's Florida poker, he would have called you with deuces, but you want that call.

I know half the regs and about half the floor/staff. Most of the old dealers are great people and its like having a friend deal to you. I don't know a lot of the newer guys/girls, so can't attest. Some of the higher ups in room management I'm not such a big fan of. I'm not going to put them on blast about what they do specifically, but I choose to go to Hard Rock instead of playing in Sarasota. They did completely modernize the room, it looks nice, and players (including most regs) are relatively bad. With that said, I'd rather be an unknown when I am playing.

Overall its not a bad room, but the tournaments aren't that great, and game selection is minimal. If you are looking to grind, HR is the place to go.

This, although the exception to rule is their seemingly twice a year good-structure tournaments like the Spring Fling.

One of the primary reasons I stopped playing here in favor of other rooms was due to the fact that dealer chatter and friendliness goes way, way beyond on the line of professionalism, even for a Florida card room.

Any interest in PLO / mixed games for this room? I'd like to play PLO but no interest saturday night. Anyone up for it or ROE / Horse type mix?

PLO goes pretty regularly on Tuesday and Thursday, starting around noon. Also, there's a good chance of it getting off Friday and Saturday evenings.

Asking again for interest in 4-8 HORSE or 2x/3x stud (hi/razz/split)? How about 1/2 PLO? I find the 5/5 PLO with the $10 button straddle above my comfort zone. Plays way too big.

If you play here, be careful of the hard betting line. I'm used to being able to drop chips off the bottom of a stack for a call. Even if the stack doesn't cross the line, you're liable to have all those chips put in by your dealer.

Some give warnings, but the first time this happened I had to put in $100. Seems like a great spot to angle with AA. I'm used to seeing people put an entire stack on the felt and pull back whatever they don't want to bet after dropping the call/raise. I've never noticed someone doing this to get a reaction.

Chips could use a wash.

The $2 promo drop goes to a more often running than not quads or better large hand hit (not a highest hand for time period) promo for $500 / $300 if hit weekend promo and lesser amounts during the week. For stud, quad 10s are the minimum. When this is running, raises in limit games will get you very dirty looks.

Tournaments have some kind of a similar high hand promo. Not familiar with the details, you can win an $80 or something lammer.

There is relatively large balances for both funds. They might consider implementing a bad beat jackpot for cash games for a portion of the drop.

Friendly dealers, mostly friendly players. Older group but perhaps this is usual for Florida?

Probably stick with Hard Rock, most action in the area. If you want to check out another room, try Derby Lane in St. Petersburg.

Depends. If you're close and typically play 1/2 and 1/3 it isn't a terrible option. 1/2/5plo runs on Friday also. If you're more than a 30 min drive, there are better options.

Is the move still going to happen? I've not been around since covid hit Wuhan.

Any report on what the games are like here? Specifically the 1/2 or 1/3. Normally play at THR but going to the beach for a long weekend and while my wife can live on the beach I get beached out after 1 day.

This was my local room for 10+ years until i moved. 1/2 and 1/3 are full of old fellas playing the high hands. 2/5 takes off around noonish and that's a good mix of weak tight, loose and average players. Room was relocated a few years ago after the dog track was closed.

They also have a decent plo game and run daily mtts.
