I'm exclusively a fixed-limit hold'em player with a limited bankroll so I was thrilled to see that they were spreading 2/5. That's what I sat. The first four orbits were the softest game I've ever sat it in my life. 5 to 7 people limping into every pot, chasing everything to the river, and never betting unless they can beat one pair. I raised KK UTG and got three coldcallers plus the BB. (Of course, I didn't win the hand, but that goes without saying hahaha). Sadly, after about four orbits it was like someone flipped a switch and everyone started folding! That was disappointing. At the beginning of that game I was like one of those cartoon characters that has dollar signs in his eyes when he opens them. After another four or five orbits, 4 people all got up from the table at about the same time. I got up too because I don't like to play shorthanded.

I have nothing negative to say about the casino. Reasonably easy to get to, easy to park, restaurants within walking distance, dealers are friendly and professional, other players were friendly - don't know what else one realistically asks for in a casino.

I will go back whenever I have the chance. I hope I get to go on a weekend sometime.
Where are you from Dal? I play in Brantford quite regularly

I've played brantford for a number of years on and off. I would highly recommend any Player check it out if you're looking for a soft low limit game.

Things you should know about the weekend game (which is most lucrative):

- Room is packed - get there early, 7pm or earlier. Be sure to call in 90 minutes prior to get your name on the list.
- 20/40 runs 1 table 90% regs
- You'll usually find 2 or 3 10/20 tables running. This is the game I recommend sitting
- lots of 2/5 4/8 action
- the ODD time a 50/100 game opens. Typically short handed.
- comp structure is a joke

Jesus h christ do I wish I had listened to you about this. Got here Thursday at 8 pm had to wait 2 hours. Tonight I've been waiting 90 minutes. I will never come here without calling ahead again.

Still enjoy playing here though.

If anyone is here tonight see if you can spot me - It's pretty obvious who I am

Sorry I didn't respond sooner WhiteNorth (great handle for a Canadian LOL!). I'm from Dallas Texas LDO, and if you know anything about the Colts it's pretty easy to know it's me from a quick look around the room .

I saw on an OLG website that they spread Omaha here.

Does anyone know what variation(s) of Omaha? What stakes? and if it runs often?

Is this place still a Limit only Casino? Moving to the area and that is pretty disappointing if so, I don't see the logic in it.

I think the OLG modernization now allows Ontario casinos to apply for a NL license, but only the tournaments are NL at Brantford for now. Hopefully, Brantford, Woodbine, etc. will be transferred to a casino conglomerate that knows how to create a world-class poker room.

Yeah I gave them a call. I haven't seen a casino since 2003 that only had limit tables.. lol. Ontario is an interesting place. I remember before coming back to Ontario seeing in 2011 that Ontario was set to join the Canadian Poker Network with BC and Quebec also..

Rumours are it will be sold by September/October and the poker room will be changed into Slot Machines/Tables Games.

Really hope this isn't true. Guess I'll be making the trip down to Niagara weekly

I'd like to think that getting a casino out of OLG's hands would almost automatically mean better things for that property's poker room but maybe not

Many updates as the anti-poker Great Canadian Gaming Corporation (GCGC) has taken over Brantford and many of the other OLG-owned casinos. OLG Casino Brantford has been renamed Elements Casino Brantford (same with Mohawk, Flamboro and Grand River) as of May 1, 2018.

Almost all remnants of "OLG" have been replaced with "Elements" including chips, cards, table felts, tournament screens and signage. I posted my photo of the new cash game chips on Facebook, but was unable to copy the image here. If you have any of the old OLG chips, GCGC stopped redeeming them on May 8.

- No tournament schedule or any other poker information available in both the OLG and Elements websites! Still no paper copies available in the poker room.

- OLG Brantford used to have the best system of being able to buy tournament tickets over the phone with a credit card on the morning of the tournament, but now GCGC has the worst with only in-person purchase at the casino and only with cash.

- The new "Elements" tournament chips still do not have any denominations on them!

- The rumour is that GCGC will reduce the number of poker tables, just like it killed poker at Woodbine and plans to shrink at Great Blue Heron Casino by switching baccarat into the big poker room and moving poker into the small baccarat area.

As some of you may know, Great Canadian Gaming has chosen to remove poker permanently from the Great Blue Heron Casino in Port Perry, effective Monday June 26th. This is in addition to them having removed poker from Woodbine the day they took over 6 months back.

Today a friend of mine heard back from the General Manager at Woodbine, where he stated poker is not in the plans for any of GCG's Toronto area properties. I believe GCG hates poker, and they will not be spreading it at any of their casinos. Land in Port Perry costs nothing. For them to remove it from that casino is a very, very, very bad sign.

Accordingly, I've come to the conclusion that it's now time to launch a PR campaign against GCG, with the intended effect of making them adhere to their commitments to the OLG when they were granted the license for the GTA casinos, which includes, among other things, diversifying the offerings, and lowering their customer age demographic (ie more poker, less slots).

So I put a petition up here --
https://www.change.org/p/doug-ford-l...ker-in-the-gta

Any comments you make will be emailed to the following people:
Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario
Michael Ford, Councillor Ward 2, which contains Woodbine Casino
John Tory, Mayor of Toronto
and last but definitely not least...
Stephen Rigby, President OLG

Please sign it, send it to all your friends, post it on social media, etc. I want to force GCG to honour their commitments, and bring a big live poker room to Toronto!

After the petition has sufficient numbers if I don't see a satisfactory response I'll be taking the campaign to the media.

Brantford poker is now closed from 530 AM to 1030 AM on weekdays, which, honestly, is probably for the best, especially with the CNE running. They sure weren't making money that time of day.

There are rumors of more changes in September, including the possibility of spreading a few NL games. Of course, it being Great Canadian, they might also just dump poker and put in slot machines for old people to play.

Big Frank, any idea what prompted anti-poker GCG to introduce these games, and what the hopes are for the poker room at Elements Brantford to continue to exist long-term?

The table games manager from Elements Brantford emailed me and said no plans to close Poker Room.

They have 1/3 NL, and 5/5 PLO. 2/5 & 5/5 PLO are generally the same, as most the time they round up.
