One thing I'm going to say is there's some menial activities going on that slow the pace of the game. One which is:

-Seat change rule: Why is there this whole musical chairs game going on every time a seat becomes open? When a seat becomes open a player should be able to claim it on a first come first serve basis. At one point a seat became open and 3-4 players all wanted it, the dealer performed a high card showdown, then when those players moved other players wanted to move.

-Limit players: Guys coming in to sit @ 2/5 with racks of whites and betting with them. Maybe doesn't slow the game too much but just tilts me for some reason lol.
I never understood the seat change gimmicks. Just ask for button like in Niagara or 1st to ask gets it. All the white chips waiting for limit is a definitely a joke.

Yeah, it's slowing down the game so much and just a needless complication.

-Is there a possibility they run any 5/10+ ever? 2/5 been running more regularly from what I can see.

I have been mainly in Niagara. But I was told that they have never got the 5/10 going. I have yet to see it in 20 visits or so since they got NL.

Surprised no other replies. Rake is 10% up to $8 for NL. And $7 for limit. I can't answer question regarding action as I mainly play at Casino Niagara. Last time I played 2/5NL in Brantford game actually broke at 1:30am on a Friday night. Then I decided to play 20/40 Limit with half kill as seemed like more action than 1/3 and the pots were obviously much bigger. The 1/3 that I was playing on before moving to 2/5 seemed relatively soft. But does not have the crazy action that the 1/3s have at Casino Niagara. Like winning a 2300 pot at CN after 3 betting the nit opener from my straddle with AA to 130, nit tank folding AK, then BB shoving for 1100 with pocket 10s. Never saw anything like that at Brantford.

I used to split my time up between Niagara/Brantford. At first Brantford was very loose/fishy but now it's really changed. Way more tight then it used to be. Many of the same regulars I see there now when I go on weekends. Niagara has way more casual players and tourists.

Appreciate the replies. If Brantford 1/3 isnt as soft as most live poker could I beat it as a winning reg at 5nlz on stars? I haven't played any live, but I hear it is so soft if you can adjust. I'm not much further than an hour away.

Check that. There's a lot of regs at Brantford but a lot of loose/fishy players too. I find I wind more at Brantford than I do at Niagara but it's not a huge sample size. Yeah you could definitely beat the 1/3 NL game as a 5 NL regular. The players aren't that great.

You say you are 1 hour away, do you mean London or Kitchener? It might surprise you that Sarnia has a casino with a poker room.

We were chatting about session fee vs rake at Casino Niagara Tuesday night. Most of us agreed that a rake produces a tight game, and we're glad that Niagara still had a session fee.
I decided to travel to Brantford on way home to play in deep stack 1/3. I bought in for 1k and played for 12 hours. Game has an $8 rake with zero comps.
Game plays super nitty compared with Niagara. Multiple hands were folded around to the blinds every round. Your lucky to see that twice an hour in Niagara. Niagara players play ever Ax, close to all suited cards, unsuited connected cards, all pairs, and all broadways. Johnny P. the tournament crusher from Niagara was also there and he complained about the same.
If you want real action games, Niagara is the only option.

I think this really depends. I have been to Brantford when the games were very loose. I think it has dried up and become nittier in recent months. I often see many of the same players at either Niagara, Brantford or Rama. There's really a core 50-100 or so players, some of whom I know on a 1st name basis and some I know by faces only. Most of these players are fairly tight-aggressive.

I agree with you. Not sure about recent months. But games were more loose originally after introducing no limit.

If anyone is looking for LIMIT HOLDEM or omaha PORT PERRY, GREAT BLUE HERON casino is reopening their poker room in early december. It should be nice competition for Brantford.

Was there Saturday and man has this place improved. No more long waiting times. They were running 4 tables Saturday night. Dealers were very fast. They were opening new tables when conditions warranted it.

Now that Ontario is allowed into casinos, any news on the poker room reopening? Website says it's still closed. Would like to hop into some tournaments over the Christmas season.

Great Canadian Gaming, Gateway Casinos and Mohegan Sun are more likely to open sportsbooks after December than ever reopening the poker rooms in Ontario. Fallsview is constructing a big sportsbook in the old poker room and adjoining club. No poker for the foreseeable future in the fourth largest gambling market in North America!
