You get $8.80 every 8 hours, starting as soon as you sit down. It does not accumulate, and you loose it if you don't use it within 24 hours. Best way to do it is drop it off at the podium when you get seated, tell the server it is there when you are ready to eat, then take it back up there when you have played over eight hours and want to get another comp.

2. 6 total.

3. with the comps being every eight hours, and you being able to get one right when you sit down means you can potentially pull an eight hour session and get two free meals. pretty good deal.

4. It also keeps players from having the advantage of playing the button twice.

and remington, you have an amazing avatar.
Choctaw...45 minutes east of winstar on 75.
Riverwind...over an hour north of winstar on 35.

I am under the impression choctaw takes a buck less, but the extra dollar for the rake at winstar is well worth the action as choctaw may only spread 1-5 games (all 1/2 NL) throughout the week. the weekend is a lot busier at choctaw but thats when winstar is running 46 games plus a huge waiting list.

Just call up the map of OK, it'll show you what you've got.

Note: Do not trust the tourney schedules on here. I got burned once this way.

Edit: Doh! Just noticed the post I'm responding to is several weeks old.
Oh well.

And your poker atlas is missing Lucky Star west of Oklahoma City, the poker room in Durant OK, The Hard Rock in Tulsa, BorderTown in the North East corner, ....

I don't like it. I like the ol' $1 an hour, use it like I want.

That way after grinding a couple of long-long sessions I have accumulated a tidy sum in comps, so when the ol' lady starts griping about how much time I'm spending at the casino, I can say, "Hey Honey, let's go get a real nice fancy high-priced steak dinner!"

With this system, I can say, "Hey, baby! go to the food court and don't spend over 8 bucks at the burger king" .... this doesn't go over as well.

i'm pretty sure you can't get any kind of steak at Winstar.

technically not part of the casino ! and about an hour walk from the poker room.

you can still use your $8 to pay for part of dessert.

Technically, I could walk around the entire casino and hotel in an hour, unless it has been moved and is now over 4 miles away.

And precisely my point.. I cannot accumulate comps with the present system so I can get more than part of my desert comped.

Just looked at this, it is incomplete. Does not have Downstream or Choctaw, two of the best rooms in terms of comfort and enclosed, quiet space.
500 Nations is more accurate, but still not perfect:

Sorry, Ganaram, I didn't see your question when you originally asked it. I don't think you are going to find poker up in western Oklahoma based on this map. Closest poker appears to be in OK City. I would call the casinos that are closer to ask, but I will bet that Firelake or Riverwind are the closest.

Hard Rock Tulse is indeed listed in the PA, under Tulsa, even though its in Catoosa.

Choctaw Durant report: Very nice room. Smaller and not as busy as Winstar, but much more inviting. Dealers were all very good. First place I've ever been with a metal dealer button instead of a plastic one. They give you a buzzer when you put your name on the list, so you can roam the casino and lose money in other ways while waiting for your poker game. The biggest downside for me is that it's an extra 50 minutes away from my current location compared to Winstar. Moving to Dallas in the next month or two should solve that problem.

Played winstar today. It looked pretty slow...only had 3 2/5 and one 5/10 had a list for awhile and started around noonish. Was wondering if a lot of players are going to Choctaw now. Any regulars at both places have any insights???

Sorry, they've got all the FL rooms, I just ASSumed.

Guess I shouldn't be surprised. I went way the heck up out of the way to Silks in N. Tampa to play a cheapo tourney that I saw on there that my broke ass could afford and found that they were actually running a $250 Deep Stack tourney.

choctaw has more than one casino can we please be specific about the locations?

for instance the nearest poker room to me is at a Choctaw Casino in Roland, OK but I don't think that's the same casino that has been discussed in this thread

Choctaw is almost always referring to Durant in this forum, from what I've seen.

The casino in Roland is a Cherokee casino. The Choctaw casino is in Pocola, and I don't think it has a poker room. (Please correct me if I am wrong, the Cherokee in Roland do offer poker).

Naturally, with all the people who are primarily talking about coming up from Dallas, they are talking about the Choctaw casino in Durant.

You are correct, the Choctaw tribe operates 7 casinos of various sizes in Oklahoma.

Roland still had a poker room last time I was there a few months ago. Pocola definitely had a poker room, but I think it's no more.
