Just looking to see if any one plays in Tulsa. I have seen a few of the top Tulsa internet players in the casino's lately.

decent games 2/5 no max buy in
1/2 300 max
+ some decent plo games on occasion.

Also the mid south tournament series stars May 5 and runs thru 15.

I've played at Hard Rock some in the 2/5NL uncapped game and then I've also played in the 5/10PLO, 10/20PLO and various other mid-level games at River Spirit. When I've played in them, they've all been good games with plenty of action.

Have you noticed the games getting tougher with all the internet players coming in?

I'm out of the country quite a bit on business but now that online has been shut down, I will be playing live more when I'm in town.

Look for the Choctaw weekly tourney thread in MTTc Live. That's turned into our Okie thread

If your looking for a good 1/2 NL cash game come to Firelake, plenty of action and competition is fairly soft and the game plays very deep for 1/2.

The games at Cherokee in Roland are pretty good on Wednesday. Last time I was there they had several 1/2nlhe, a couple 2/5 nlhe, and a 5/10 nlhe.

Choctaw in Pacola is in the middle of a big remodel. The rumors are new poker room and OTB. I liked the poker room before. Some pretty good games at times.

The last I was the Riverspirit was on a Monday and Tuesday night. Got there about 6 or so both nights, and the room was consistently running ~4-5 1/2 NL tables and it was hit or miss with the 3/6 LHE game. Also, I think a pretty regular table of 4/8 Limit O8 runs as well. Although, the bad beat jackpot was getting pretty large and I think was the driving force behind some of the traffic, the jackpot was hit a few nights ago, so I am not sure what exactly the room will look like now. I would expect though to see multiple 1-2 NL tables running every night, for sure after 7 p.m.

Also, with the Bravo Poker Live app you can view what the scene looks like at RiverSpirit.

I have only played tourneys at Winstar, but I was thinking about playing some over at Choctaw.

Any advice on which casino has the best tourney structures/starting stacks/amount of fish/buy-in/payouts?

Thanks.

Anyone know if there are regular 1/2 PLO games at winstar or choctaw? Really looking for any game that's not just NLH, and is above the 4/8 O8 games. Any tips appreciated.

Choctaw generally only Saturday nights. I hear WinStar has more Omaha running during the week.

As far as the RiverSpirit is concerned they are on the BravoLive poker app, and it is fairly reliable at accurately relaying the games that will be running currently.I Know that I have seen PLO and PLO8 games running both while I have been in the cardroom and on the app.
I am not sure what the Hardrocks cash game scene looks like. I believe that they are better on the weekends and they focus more on daily tourney's little to no PLO when I played there quite a bit a little less than a year ago. You may need to investigate the HardRock though.

So I decided to take a detour on my way to the F1 race in Austin and do an inspection of my rental property in Tulsa. I have only been there once before a couple years ago and briefly played at the hotel right by the airport. i think its the osage casino. It really looks like the two nicer places to play are the Hard Rock which is slightly more expensive but is very close to the airport for early flight out. Sounds like the River Spirit might be the better place to play, but its farther away and doesn't have a hotel. You have to stay at a partner hotel and take a shuttle. This would be for a thursday/friday night type thing.

So does anyone have info here I can use to decide?

How nice are the two rooms to play in?

How is the action? limit would be nice, but 1-2 and 2-3-5 NL is fine too.

Are the Vegas style games normal or are they stupid california style games with "fees" per hand type stuff?

Which room is more fun to kick back play cards and drink some beers at? Angry old nit regulars suck for this, and a bunch of 21 year old "pros" in hoodies and sunglasses is equally bad.

What about the other small rooms?

Right now I guess I am planning to stay Hard Rock since i will ahve a car, but its nice to not have to drive to hotel.

Pancho, I live in Texas but travel to Tulsa a few times a year so can offer a little bit of advice.

The past couple of years I have found the River Spirit to have better games. the 2/5NL games are decent. There is actually a Hilton Hotel two minutes away across from Oral Roberts University that has pretty cheap rates on weekends. It is farther from the airport, but Tulsa is small so you can still be at the airport in 15 to 20 minutes max.

The Hard Rock actually just opened a new poker room this week though so it might be worth checking out. I assume the weekends would be good as most locals will probably be checking out the new room. Also ask for the poker rate. If you play a certain amount of hours you will get a better rate there. I think it was $79 during the week when I have stayed there but probably more on weekends. Good Luck!

The action at River spirit is usually pretty good. there are a few younger hoodie type guys that play there, but for the most part the crowd is middle aged to 50+. Thursday and Friday the action will be good. You will be more likely to catch a 3/6 limit game there one of those days and certainly on Friday. You can also check the poker room traffic with the bravo live poker app. I try to avoid the Hard rock, it used to be "the" place to play but the management there in my opinion is lacking. I have emailed them a few times about various subjects like updating the info on their own web page to no avail. Anyway, I just don't see why they deserve my business. However, I will say that they have a decent amount of traffic will be closer to the airport and will make rooming accommodation easier. They have a hotel with the casino, another on site, and two or three located nearby. Both will be fine establishments to drink at and have a good time IMO.

See above. Limit should be available at either, 3/6 I know for sure at Riverspirit. I want to say they were spreading 2/4 last time I was at Hard rock.

I have experienced nitty regs at Hard rock and riverspirit pretty much like most places you will play at. I have heard that Hard rock tends to be more nitty these days.
For myself, I prefer the River Spirit as a regular casino. If I was just travelling through however, I would suggest the Hard Rock.

Playing the 60.00 tourny @hard rock tonight should be 70+ runners 3400 or close in the prize pool. Last week was 1200 for first. 20 min blinds with 1 extra level per. come on out , nice new room.

I don't see it getting much press on the forums, so I will throw it out there. The Mid-States Poker Tour is at Downstream Casino, Quapaw, OK/Joplin Mo.

Yeah, Won my seat into the main event last Sunday. My buy-in receipt showed I was the 176th person to be registered. Hopefully, there will be 200+ people.

5 got seats on Tuesday night, myself included. I am pretty sure that the sats will get a decent turnout today and tomorrow. I Am confident that the field will have little trouble getting to 200+.

Does any casino in Oklahoma have a limit holdem game (or limit mixed game) bigger than 4/8 that goes regularly? Will be passing through on either Sunday or Monday night of next week,

I also seem to recall some OK casino having a once a week mixed game, but I can't remember which one it was.
