Has anyone ever been to Casa di Napoli over at the showboat? It seems kind of expensive, is it any good?

All of the more upscale casino restaurants are expensive, doesn't mean they're any good---if it wasn't for points, I wouldn't eat at half of them tbh. But, no, I have never eaten there and don't know of anyone that did.

I've eaten at three Italian places in the casinos: Patsy's @ the Hilton (better than average, pretty agood, actually), Il Mullino @ the Taj (over-rated, the veal is fake/processed, and the chef has a very heavy hand on the salt), and the new Italian place @ the Borg that replaced Ombra(forget the name of it but I thought it was pretty good--enjoyed the fact that they offered homemade pasta...makes a big difference). Out of the three, I would rec. the one at the Borg because they have good food, decent prices, great wine selection and nice atmosphere.

That's the problem with the casino restaurants.

For Italian, I would go to Angeloni's, the one back on Arctic Avenue, not Angelo's on Fairmount. I find Angeloni's more authentic, older Arthur Avenue or Coney Island look.

I enjoy JoJo's down on Ventor Avenue, in Ventnor, about two miles out of AC...

I like Angeloni's, too, def. better than Angelo's on Fairmount (actually, I put Angelo's on my perma-ban list years ago....long story short, when I asked for bread, the girl in a rather snippy tone said, "Oh, we ran out, are you ready to order?") yeah, I'm ready to order....down the street. Wtf, no bread at an Italian restaraunt. And I really didn't think they were that good to begin with, so. That said...they do have very good house wine, cheap but good.

Not a real big fan of Jo-Jo's, tried it several times, but I know it's pretty popular.

Have you tried Cafe 2825 on Atlantic? I've been meaning to but I haven't heard anything from anyone.

I should mention that the Mancuso family that owns it--or at least the son or grandson (whatever) who runs the place, Angelo IV I think-- was and probably still is kind of an ass. They're one of those places living off of their name at this point, I don't know of anyone local who eats there regularly except old people from Margate & Longport (+ tourists obv)

Arthur Avenue = Italian food heaven

Was up there a couple of week ago, Got me a sopressata, honey-ham (spiral sliced) and prosciutt' with mozzarella, provolone, roasted peppers + oil and vin on a hero.

Angelo's looks great btw

Agree on Angeloni's, not the the neighborhood though (but these days not really that big a deal). The veal is pretty awesome there.

And for what it's worth, "Ducktown" is dead and has been for 20 years or so now. Very few Italians still reside there, it's a mostly hispanic neighborhood.

Best part of AC... On the way down there is a Sonic. It's in Waretown for those coming from the north heading south to AC. I always see commercials on TV but they do not exist around me!

My nephew LOVES sonic! I've never been.

Awhile back, I had mentioned Il Mullino, which is an Italian restaurant at the Taj. I said that I didn't care for the place....the food was overly salty etc.. But, there are two dining rooms that are side-by-side to each other but they have two seperate entrances w/two seperate menus: there's the Trattoria, which is the more casual place, (and that's the one that I didn't care for) and then there's Il Mullino New York, which is a lot more upscale/fine dining. I ate there for the first time last week and have been there three more times since then.

As soon as you sit down (listen to all the stuff they bring you) someone comes around w/ sauteed zucchini, then someone else comes around and serves you a piece of Parmagiano Reggiano cheese off of a giant cheese wheel...then, another guy comes around and brings an assortment of Italian bread, garlic bread, foccacia bread...someone else comes around and brings you a plate of fresh chopped tomatoes w/garlic toast (brushchetta) and some mussels to go with it....and another guy sets down a plate of Italian salami. Then, after they finally finish bringing you all of the complimentary stuff, someone then hands you a menu for dinner. Menu? Dinner? Just give me glass of wine and I'm all set! I tried something new each time and was very pleased all four times (the Osso Bucco was like butter, and the risotta to go w/it...awesome). I highly recommend Il Mullino New York at the Taj, and, you can use your points 1-for-1.

I've had dinner w/the boys @Il Mullino New York at the Taj. The service was incredible and the Osso Buco was incredible. I like the risotto aswell.

Anyone else here try the wings at the chelsea pub? They werent the typical buffalo wings but they are defintly pretty good. We also ordered the buffalo chicken pizza.

I also remember the buffalo chicken quesadilla at the chelsea hotel being pretty good.

Anyone have any other buffalo wing suggestions other than hooters?

Try the Atlantic City Bar and Grill's Atlantic City hot shrimp. It's shrimp (not fried) in a red or white hot sauce served in a soup bowl, served with a loaf of Italian bread, sold by the half pound of shrimp $9.95lb last time I was there.

This is my favorite meal when I arrive late on a Friday night.

Enjoy with draught beer...

Another good item on the menu at Chelsea Pub is their blackened chicken ceasar salad. Big fan.

Can't really say too much about buffalo wings in the AC area (Hooter's is Ok but not great, imo) but if you ever want a really good fried chicken wing...Golden Wok on Atlantic Ave. (next to McDonald's). So good I've never ordered anything else.

The wings at 6ix, a Bistro at Bally's are pretty good. I had just some (again - I keep going back for them.)

You can also take the ACEs Train (8:16pm) http://www.acestrain.com/
The train is at 35th street penn station

I have taken the subway from JFK to Manhattan. if you take the subway I recomend the 'E' train, it is faster than the 'A' train. 'E' < 45min < 'A' < 1 hour (about $2.25)

The fastest option is a shuttle or Taxis at the airport.

I've never been, but I've heard great things about Game On, at Caesar's Pier. I would think the place will be very busy.

A Dam Good Sports Bar in the Trop is a good place to catch games. I haven't been to Game On.
