I do like the hippo bump, however.
I found the hippo picture on another thread. Glad to know that I'm not the only one who likes it.

Sorry for the typos. I didn't forget to mention that the Beach Bars charge - of course they do! They are there to make money. Didn't think that this needed to be mentioned.

Got a room @ poker rate at the Trop this weekend. Some questions:

1) I assume they'll put me in their crappiest room. What should I be asking for when I try to check in, and what should I settle for? [e.g., they'll put you in the X tower by default. Try for the Y suite, but settle for a regular room in the Z tower]

2) Have any of you gotten upgraded but then had an issue with the room price since it was a poker rate?

3) Is there a good place with reliable wifi nearby? I want to get down to AC early, but that means I'll have to work at least a half day remotely.

Thanks.

I am planning a trip to AC sept 9-11 and are trying to figure out how to get a room at a casino that is not priced out of my range. Normally I just go to hotwire or one of the likes and book a reduced rate through them. Generally for a fri or sat I stay for around $100 a night. What are the requirements to get a poker rate in AC and is it really much better than promo rates?

I would suggest that you call the casino(s) that you are thinking of staying at. They all have different rules, and different availabilities.

anyone who goes to Carmines i highly recomend the lemon chicken scalapini. amazing. if you stay at the trop pay 20 for the upgrade will save you a long walk. the upgrade rooms are right over the poker rooms.

I have been staying at trop almost every weekend, I played there about 8 hrs back in june and then I booked the entire summer (fri & sat) from that one day of playing. I booked a couple weekends at a time, then called back the next day for more.

They put you in the West tower but I never stayed in it - I always ask for the Havana Tower or the South Tower (right above the poker room). They all have free wifi, but bring a network cable because you can also plug in. Sometimes wifi is faster, sometimes plug in is faster.
This past weekend I was lucky enough to get a router right in my room, so I was able to re-set it to connect when the wall plug one kept slowing down. Otherwise you need to call the computer room and ask them to re-set whatever router you are closer too. I was never able to just connect to a wireless router without them (or me) resetting it.

Hey guys,

I'm looking to hit Atlantic City this Saturday and stay into Sunday. Room rates are absurd (as is expected i guess on a Saturday in the summer). The best I can find is a 2 star hotel in Absecon on Hotwire for $120. Anyone have any ideas as to where I can get a decent room for $140 or less this Saturday? I'm obviously willing to stay on the white horse pike or somewhere else thats not directly in the city. Any ideas?

Yeah I saw this too this past weekend. I didnt even notice that it was a B until my friend said something. It does look exactly like a BK. I didnt go inside to see what they had tho. Bopper with cheese?

It's just a picture of the sign out front at "Burger Bing." I'll stop by sometime next week and report back with my findings.
