What kind of bankroll do you need for 2-3, 5-5 ?

So I recently relocated to Orange County near Irvine (Aliso Viejo) after a 7 year stay in Peru. I'm looking to play some live games. I am basically about 40 miles from Oceans Eleven and 40 from The Bike/Commerce area. Both straight shots on the 5. If I were just to go up on a Saturday which would you guys choose? I am going to check out both for sure but I am talking in terms of low stakes cash games and occasional low buy in tournament. I see Ocean's Eleven has a ~ $120 Sat/Sun deep stack tournament that seems somewhat decent. As an aside, anything even closer for me near Irvine? Google seems to point me to those 2 casinos.

Hawaiian Gardens should be closer and is an okay option.
If you want a good selection on a Saturday you should go north, not down to oceans

The tournaments are worth playing at Ocean's. As far as cash games you have better selections in LA.

Tge dailies in LA suck, but you'll want to check out tournament series in LA. LAPC just wrapped up at Commerce, and starting Monday is Winning O' the Green at the Bike.

Low stakes cash games are softer, but unless you are playing 2/3 or above at the Bike or 3/5 or up at Commerce, the buy in structures really suck.

There will be a PLO tournament on May 5th at 2pm.
Not sure of details, I believe around $200 with 1 hr rebuy period.
Hopefully someone with more knowledge will stop in.

The last time I was in town, a few months ago, there was only a short list for the 20/40 and it didn't get going. Does it not go regularly anymore? Are there particular days or times it is more likely to go?

That is really odd - do those players just not play any other day?

Wednesday the 40 gets going sometimes, and that is probably also the best chance for 20.
Not sure why it is that way.
Maybe ask in the MSLHE forum. Armor and wacky are there more than me.

OK, thanks for the info. Have you played in the 40 game? Is it better than the same level at Commerce?

I may be moving to the area soon, and definitely will be at least visiting often.

Also, if anyone can fill me in on current/common promo promotions, I'd also love to know about that. I remember seeing something at one point about getting money back if you played a certain number of hours over a few month period. Also would like to know what the food comps are. Thanks!

Food free on 5/5 and up, PLO, 20 and 40 LHE games.
Comp is x number of hours gets you money back. I apologize, can't recall numbers off the top of my head.
Cash drawings a couple times a week and football promos during season.

Thanks; if anyone knows the current promos, please post.

Also, what are food comps for the 8/16 game? Pretty sure you get something, they scan the card every hour.
